This a a spacious 2 bedroom 2 full bathroom unit on the ground floor facing the beach. It is approximately 1475 square feet.It has an extra large patio that faces the beach directly perfect for family get togethers. There is a king size bed in the master bedroom which faces the beach. There are 2 queen size beds in the guest bedroom and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. The living room and both bedrooms have televisions and DVD players. You also have access to high speed internet. The unit provides a fully equipped kitchen with Microwave, stove, dishwasher and all small appliances. There is a laundry set up in the unit with washer, dryer Iron and ironing board. This unit has ceiling fans in the living room and also a recliner.

Only thing I did not like was the front door did not lock from the inside so kids could open the door and try to go out. The staff for check in was nice. Thanks so much for your request for the Surf Dweller unit 102 and we are so happy that you enjoyed the location of it, because you can even park in front of the unit. The unit is on the ground floor and very large and spacey unit and all you have to do is just walk out to the beach and park right in front of the door. Come back and see us again in this condo.

This property was extremely clean and was a great place to stay! We will stay here again if we come back to this area. The only issue we ran into is it is a 2 bathroom property but one bathroom has a shower and the other has a bathtub with a shower head but there is no way to actually use the bathtub as a shower. That made it really 1.5 bath as my kids are too old for baths. Other than that the stay was perfect!! Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: This rental was a good fit for our family which included our four month old grand son (and all of his baby equipment his parents can't live without). Easy unloading from the car, easy beach access and lots of extra space in the master bedroom. The kitchen utensils were lacking, but we were able to make a full breakfast each morning. Also, no beach equipment, including no beach towels. I don't even mind bringing my own, but didn't know I needed to. The unit is a bit dated, but this was not an issue for us. I really appreciate the ability to pay a small extra fee for a late check out. This adds almost a whole extra beach day to our stay!

Deanna thanks for review and we are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us, and i will let the owner know about the utensils so she can check that out when she comes here. But, we do not provide beach towels for the beach, everyone gets their own to use. I am glad you looked how convenient it was to get in and out to the beach, and also to have your late check out. I hope you enjoyed our beach and your free beach chairs for that too.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Im not going to give a bad review, because we love this company and all the condos we have used. Me and my family have been using this rental company for 20 plus years..we have always loved out rooms. And we did this time. BUT, the room was not clean when we arrived. And we weren't an early check in. We got there around 6pm or so. We had to come in and nearly clean everything when we got there. Which I dont mind to clean stuff, but this was a Lot this time. And there was such a foul odor that hit us the minute we walked in. Took us hours to find the reason, there was a spare blanket in the master open closet that had been put back without being clean. It was soaked in pee from the previous guest I suppose. There was many other things but not going to mention. Hopefully the cleaning staff will step it up and spend the time on these rooms that are needed. But we will continue to always book through here bc once in 20 plus years is OK. This property does need some Major updating though.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in another unit (different owner) at surf dweller and had a wonderful experience, so I was very disappointed with this condo. The condo was as described, but there is an apparent roach infestation. We had to clean everything once we arrived, including the tops of the drawers and cabinet doors due to the amount of roach feces. I do believe the owners are aware, because of the roach spray we found in the laundry area. The condo needs a good deep clean for sure. Also, the sink randomly backs up in the kitchen and it is nasty water. The shower in the second bathroom does not drain well. This condo is very nice, but the cleanliness and obvious roach issue need to be addressed

I would like to point out a couple of things that happened during our stay, that we did not cause. None of these were issues upon arrival.1. The air vent in the kitchen is hanging. We woke up on our 3rd day there and it was like that. We tried to fix it but it would not stay.2. One of the bar stools is not very sturdy.3. The washing machine seems to not be level. We tried to wash some towels and would never agitate right.4. We noticed the first night once we unloaded groceries, there were little roaches in the kitchen. We saw a few more throughout the stay.Thank you for your time. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

Jessica, you had mentioned all of those issues when you left and we sure took care of everything. This unit directly on the beach and parking right in the front door is so convenient for anyone to go in and out, and the size of it is such a plus. we hope to see you again in this unit or a different property on the island and it will be a pleasure working with you again.

Convenient and clean

We stayed at this property last year and loved it. You can’t beat the value of the unit + 30 second walk to the beach from the first floor. It accommodates our needs perfectly as we have two under 3 and under, along with my brother-in-law with special needs. In this aspect, the property is honestly a 10/10. However there were some major pit falls with this visit. The first being safety, while the sliding doors to the beach had high locks away from the kiddos, the front door didn’t have anything. This resulted in my 19 month old being able to open the door (absolutely terrifying) but he thankfully only made one step out the door before we were able to swoop him in. The second was the other guests. We had endless trash being dumped on our patio, from yogurt, to sunflower seeds, beer caps, BEER (they literally poured out their old beverages over the railing), and so on and so forth. This caused a lot of clean up on our end and we still struggled with ants that’s to a bunch of crushed grapes that littered the patio the first day. On top of that, some wildly disappointing behavior occurring such as screaming obscenities and throwing a beer bottle in the dunes (which happen to be under a replenishment project). This area is our happy place, it was gross it see it be treated this way. Obviously, some things are uncontrollable, but this was a much different experience from last year and mildly disappointing. That’s not to say we won’t be back - hoping for adjustments!

Perfect rental for our family!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This ground floor 2bed, 2bath condo had a great layout that perfectly suited our family’s needs. The second bedroom had 2 full beds so my teen boys each had a bed to themselves. All the beds were very comfy. The living room furniture was quite dated but it was comfortable. The ground floor meant we could store our ocean toys, canopy, towels, etc on the back patio. And from the patio there is a walkway to the boardwalk. No elevators to deal with! We also appreciated the washer and dryer in our unit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I'm a traveling nurse assigned to work at Ft Walton Medical Center. I found this place by so called luck as there literally was no place as everything was booked due to influx of snowbirds and hurricane michael refugees so much so I almost cancelled my assignment. I feel that Alicia Hollis realty took advantage charging an extortiously high rent during the off season(It was freezing and rainy) Dec-Feb. What's worse they refused to work with me when I asked to make weekly payments as this was financially less overwhelming for me. They said it would be more if they did it that way but found out later they could have but just chose not to. The condo was very basic..but was the only liveable one they had the others looked like half way houses and they were expensive! I would NEVER work in FL ever again and if I did I'd NEVER stay here again!

Hi Marlena, thank you for taking your time to write your review. We are not here to argue but we would like to address your issues. The rent that all the other renters for your same time period at Surf Dweller is $2,000 a month, so you did receive a discount. So we really do not see that Alicia J Hollis, Realtor took advantage of you. As for paying by the week, you were offered that option, and it was explained that if you chose to pay weekly that a weekly rate would be available @ 1130.00 per week, we collect payment for the period of the stay - weekly or monthly, it was your choice. As for the freezing cold and rain - that is what happens in the winter, it gets cold and unfortunately for us and for you we do not have any control of that. The condo is Gulf Front, is huge, well furnished and even though we do not rent anything that looks like a half way house, it really sounds like you needed to rent something in Ft Walton Beach not on the Island beach front. Like you said there was nothing available because of the snowbirds, and workers for Hurricane Michael. here is the link to the unit should you like to view it once again!

One time visit is good enough

Big spacious condo but beds are rough, AC cut off when washer and dryer where running, top rack of dishwasher was broke and the lights on the back patio did not work. Also, the chairs and umbrella that are in the photo are available if it comes with the room or if you pay $30 a day! I thought it was available for all surf dweller rentals. They did have everything available for kitchen needs and bed needs. First floor has nice big patio but beach view is blocked by sand dune. Fixing some of the errors can make this place returnable but for myself and my family...probably not.

We will get them attended to now. We do not offer beach service with our rentals but there are several chairs on this balcony for use.

Reviewer Comments: We usually stay at motel 6 but they were booked so we looked else where. We ALL regret it! This place was not worth the money at all! The beds were hard as a rock and VERY uncomfortable the lights outside wouldn't work, the wifi didn't work, the air conditioner kept cutting off (it was 100 degrees outside) and the pans they supplied weren't good at all. I do not like complaining, but when we paid a lot for 4 nights and 5 days you expect more then what we got! I really hope they upgrade because this was a rip off!

The price was very affordable. The ground floor patio was very large and allowed access to the "walk over" with out having to go around the front of the building. The only problem we had was the patio was being refinished the 2nd day and we could not use it for 48 hrs!! Huge bummer, however after talking to the manager they did give us an acceptable amount of refund. My advice is to check with the rental company and ask if the property will be under any renovations while you are there. We did not even think that would be a possibility....but it was. So ask!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was a lot bigger that it appears on the pictures. The location is great for families with kids. Having the property on the 1st floor, and the big patio was a great hit with the kids.Unfortunately, the maintenance crew was all over the building during our stay. We understand that it is needed for the building, and we appreciate that it is done, but they should consider scheduling maintenance during off season. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we were extremely pleased with Alicia J. Hollis. The property management company is very professional and truly cares about customer service.
