This recently remodeled modern penthouse is located right off route 3 and calle 193. it is ocean front on the twenty second floor of building one in the gated community of Playa Azul. It is an easy 25 to 35 min. drive from Luis Munoz Marin Airport. Take 26 towards Fajardo/Carolina, then take 66 to the last exit. At the last exit make a right onto route 3. At the intersection of 193 and route 3 make a left.
Every window and balcony offers incredible breathtaking views of the rainforest and the beautiful clear blue ocean.
This was a very old property. There is no central air, but rather two noisy window air conditioners. There are no drapes on the windows so sleep was extremely challenging. They were painting the building during our stay so we had to turn off the AC and then were greeted by painters outside our bedroom window at 8 a.m. It would have been nice to have been given some type of notice. The company simply should not have rented this unit out during this particular week.
It is extremely inconvenient that only one set of keys is provided. We had the choice to leave the door open or lock our teenager in the unit while we went out for a morning walk - neither of which gave us a good feeling. When we went to the beach, we then had to coordinate our schedules. Again, added more complexity than necessary.
The kitchen is old, cabinets do not close unless closed together, although it is well stocked. I just couldn't bring myself to cook there. The refrigerator has started to rust.
The view is beautiful - no doubt. Once on the beach, it is a great location to walk and enjoy the day. There are chairs and coolers in the unit so that was a big positive. There were a number of games and movies available, but the DVD player wasn't hooked up and there are no instructions so that was useless.
When checking in and out the management company barely spoke. When dropping off the keys they didn't ask any questions or give a friendly smile.
We have had great results when renting from owners directly. This was our 4th trip to PR. I will not rent from this management company again, but will definitely return to beautiful PR.
My husband and I stayed in this condo this past January for a week after our cruise. We loved the fabulous view from the balcony and wonderful beach. The condo is well supplied with everything you need to enjoy your beach days. Both bathrooms were nicely remodeled. The kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted to prepare meals during your stay. There is a nice grocery store which is just a short drive from the condo. Very convenient location if you want to visit the rain forest. The owner was very informative and great to work with. We would love to come back and stay again!
This penthouse apartment is very nice but a little small, (we were 4 adults) and you do get road noise in the bedrooms as they face the street. The beautiful panoramic views do make up for the size and noise. Checking in was easy at the real estate office around the corner. The neighborhood is ok. We did walk into the lovely little town of Luquillo more then once with no problems. We found a nice little restaurant around the corner that we liked and walked to several times for dinner. Walk into Luquillo or hop in the car and you will find several restaurants to choose from. We enjoyed the beautiful beach right behind the apartment, and the rain forest is an easy 15 - 20 min drive away. If you want to stay outside of Old San Juan on your visit, this is a really nice option.
This condo is on the 22nd floor in building 1 on the Southwest corner of the building. The windows and doors fold completely back so that the amazing breezes and spectacular views are unobstructed and enjoyed. The sunsets are breathtaking and the sunrises are wonderful as well. The beach is conveniently right out the back with gated doors. The property is gated and secure.
We had the pleasure of meeting Miriam during our visit. She is extremely nice and genuinely wants her guests to have whatever they need to make their stay perfect. I mentioned that the pillows were in need of replacement and she immediately went out and purchased new pillows. She has stocked the apartment with all sorts of beach toys and towels and bags to carry all the gear. The washer and dryer was great! The apartment is well appointed and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped.
We found a special breakfast place in Fajardo called Las Vistas with a roof-top patio and a view of the harbor. Aromas in La Pared is inexpensive and has good breakfast and lunch. Look up the rock slide in El Yunque called Las Pailas, you can park in Carlos' parking lot for $6 and hike down his back yard to a rock side that is fun and unique. There is another fun rock slide and rope swing destination called Charco Frio in Ceiba.
We had a wonderful time in Luquillo. We will be back and definitely stay in Miriam's little corner of Heaven! Thanks Miriam!
This apartment was everything we wanted and more! You simply can't beat the view - the living room opens right up onto the wrap around balcony giving you gorgeous views of both the exquisite beach right in front, the town and the mountains of El Yunque. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen fairly well stocked with pretty much whatever kitchen utensils you would need and there is a washer/dryer which was great. There are plenty of food options within a 10 minute drive. And, the beach both right in front and close by is excellent. Highly recommended.
This spacious two bedroom, two bathroom 1074 square foot penthouse is an oceanfront corner unit. It has an L shape balcony with incredible panoramic views of El Yunque Rainforest and Playa Azul Beach. This penthouse sleeps a maximum of five(5) people. One bedroom has a queen bed.The other bedroom also has a queen bed. There is a fold up twin bed in the closet. as well as a camp cot.
There are casinos nearby, as well as many great restaurants within walking distance, like Pasta Y Pueblo, Miriamar, The brass Cactus, Guava's and King Seafood. There are also lots of fast food places like, McDonald's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Subways and Johns Pizzeria.
There are several golf courses and it is a sort drive to the marina where you can go sailing, fishing, snorkeling or scuba diving.
The rainforest with its beautiful waterfalls is five minuets away. There, you can hike, zip line or ride horses.
There is a big thick binder in the penthouse with information on all the above plus more.
If you are looking for a larger penthouse I have another penthouse right next door (# 238865). It is a three bedroom, three bathroom unit. It has connecting doors, when both connecting doors are opened, the penthouses can be combined to create a five bedroom four bathroom unit with two living rooms and two kitchens. Together both units are about 3,000 square feet.
