Lovely Home & Cottage with Pool, Bocce and Game Room Near Sonoma Square

Welcome to The Fir & The Fig!

We are set on a private road 2 miles east of the Sonoma plaza and walking distance or a short bike ride to some of California's oldest and best wineries. Our location is in the heart of the wine country and only 40 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. We're on Sonoma's coveted east side so Napa is easily accessible in 15 minutes drive. You can start your day with a drive to Napa or just enjoy the laid back historic wineries all around you in Sonoma. We are uniquely positioned with wineries all around on old country roads so minimal traffic. This offers a unique opportunity to tour the area by foot or on bikes. There is a great article on our direct website along with a map with more details. Our favorite mode of transportation is cruising the bikes to a couple wineries en rout to the famous Sonoma plaza which offers an abundance of tasting rooms, 5 star restaurants and great markets. The plaza also hosts many great festivals throughout the summer and fall so you never know what you might roll up on.

Now that you know what's around us let's talk about the great property you would be enjoying when you're not out and about. We just finished major renovation so everything including the beds are brand new. We have a large hot tub just off the back deck that overlooks our brand new in-ground swimming pool. The pool features an auto-cover and solar heat which keeps it very comfortable for at least 6-7 months of the year. We can monitor the heat remotely, and if needed, we can use our gas heater to get it to your desired temperature in the off-season. There will be an additional charge if gas heat is desired. We have just completed our new bocce court and installed new landscaping for 2016.

• If departing Sunday or staying Sunday night pull trash bins out to the street • Trash Bins should be placed along left side of driveway spaced at least 3ft apart • Pickup starts at 630am on Monday
Please never leave wet laundry on hardwood floors. You can strip sheets from beds if you want but leave the comforters and pillows. Leave any wet towels or linens hanging.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Sonoma County Noise Ordinance strictly enforced; no amplified sound is permitted outside and quiet hours limit outside activity after 10pm

Overall our group enjoyed their stay at this property! There was plenty of space for 10 adults and one toddler. We enjoyed the location and amenities, and the property was designed well for communal areas for the group, but also private spaces. The kitchen was well stocked for meals at the house and we enjoyed the big dining table. There was some damage to the property from recent heavy storms that made our stay less than 100% perfect, but the host, Chris, made it right and was very responsive, friendly, and easy to work with. That’s all you can ask for when something unexpected occurs! Having a host who genuinely cares makes all the difference, and that was our experience with Chris.

The Fig and the Fern is a spectacular property. Our multigenerational family gathering was made so much more special by enjoying the spacious indoor and outdoor amenities- all of which were in pristine condition. The children loved seeing the deer every morning and swimming in the pool. The adults enjoyed the outdoor games, the happy children and the proximity to hiking trails and wineries. Great property, great pool!

Wonderful place very close to downtown Sonoma yet very private and peaceful. Having multiple structures with bedrooms and bathrooms was perfect for our extended family. The pool was a wonderful respite in the heat and the entire backyard was very well suited for enjoying the outdoors.

We booked the property for a wedding and had our entire extended family stay here. The group loved the pool and outdoor garden and patio areas, and the kids spent a lot of time in the separate game room. It was quite close to the Sonoma downtown area and a beautiful neighborhood to walk around.

Beautiful property with lots of space for the 10 of us that stayed here. We had 4 couples and 2 single ladies to celebrate a 50th birthday. The pool, hot tub, and game room were great but the highlight was the deer in the morning. We had a minor issue with the drainage in the cottage house bathroom sink, but the management company took care of that right away. The kitchen was well equipped & included everything we needed to cook breakfast for 10 people.

Great place for a family

We celebrated a milestone birthday with four couples, one teen, and three children over five days. There was plenty of room, beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed the separate game room, where we were able to gather after the 5 year old went to bed in the main house. Kids loved the pool.

We are East Coast transplants who moved to San Francisco 20 years ago. While we enjoy life in the city, we truly love escaping to Wine Country. We were drawn to the natural beauty, tranquility and local charm of Sonoma's East Side. After a very long search, we found the property of our dreams and remodeled it to create The Fir & The Fig. We take great pride in managing the property ourselves, staying involved in the community, and doing all we can to provide our guests with a truly memorable Sonoma Wine Country experience.

Why they chose this property

The Fir and The Fig is just a short 1 hr drive from San Francisco, is easily accessible from the greater Bay Area, but it feels a world away. It's the perfect escape to enjoy peace, tranquility, and an authentic small town feel without the long travel time.

What makes this property unique

Location, location, location! We love the secluded feel of our property while being such close proximity to so may great wineries and the Sonoma Square. We especially love the ability ride bikes or walk to nearby attractions without getting into a car.

Please note that this is a property for those who want to relax, regroup and unwind. It is not a suitable location for groups that want to party into the night.
