I recently stayed at this Glen Ellen property, and while there are some standout features, there were also a few issues that impacted the overall experience. The view is absolutely magnificent and truly the highlight of the stay. The pool and spa area are stunning—perfectly positioned to take in the scenery and easily the most memorable part of the home. If you’re looking for a relaxing setting with a beautiful backdrop, this place delivers on that front. The bathrooms were also magnificent. We loved the heated floors. That said, there were some significant drawbacks. There was a horrible ant issue in the kitchen. Some of the doors didn’t work properly. I had a large slider come out of the track and almost fall on me. Most concerning was the presence of a camera discreetly placed overlooking the pool and spa area. This was not disclosed in the listing or anywhere on-site, which felt like a serious invasion of privacy and detracted from what should have been a comfortable, relaxing experience. While the house itself is attractive and well-maintained, it ultimately feels more like a rental property than a welcoming home. Aside from the view, there isn’t much that elevates the experience to match the price point.Overall, you’re largely paying for the view—which is undeniably spectacular—but the lack of transparency and the overall feel of the property left me not only disappointed but feeling slightly violated.
