Located in the Town of Benson in the Southern Adirondacks. This 2 bedroom home provides a one of a kind vacation getaway. A private setting with breathtaking mountain and water views. This is a great rental for 1 family ( 2 adults, 2+ children) or for 2 couples.
Start your morning with a cup of coffee out on the deck and watch for eagles, loons, ducks, osprey and other birds and waterfowl along the Sacandaga. Then walk right down to the water to do some fishing, kayaking or just relax along the 300 ft of waterfront,
In addition to hundreds of hiking, fishing, hunting and boating destinations on the Adirondack Forest Preserve, this home is located near many year round attractions.
Located 45 minutes to Lake George, Gore Mountain Ski area, or the Saratoga Race Track and Casino there are so many options to enjoy the natural and developed world alike.
We are a dog friendly vacation rental.
From July till September we only offer weekly rental from Saturday till Saturday
Water levels fluctuate and we can't guarantee high water or dock availability after August 1st.

We spent 3 nights in this very comfortable and clean cabin with spectacular views and a cozy wood burning stove. Kitchen had all we needed and it was also well stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, sponges, dish soap (including dishwasher detergent) etc. Meghan was super responsive and helpful when we had questions. And left us a very lovely welcome gift.

Lovely cabin! We were very comfortable here. It was extremely clean and had everything we could ever need for our stay. Easy access to cabin and great host communication. We especially loved this location because it’s set off the main road so there is zero traffic noise and you feel very secluded, but then it’s super easy to get to the town 5 minutes away for food/supplies. Huge yard with tons of lakefront view. Deer, chipmunks, birds, lovely wildlife!

A most excellent experience! Will definitely book again if in the area. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the kayak and canoe made good fun on the river and lake.

Cozy Getaway

We had a wonderful time with our dogs and love the natural boundaries the property provided. It felt so nice to just stay in each day and just enjoy each others company with a great view. One day it rained most of the day but we made the best of it in the screened space on the porch. We hope to come back!

Great Winter Getaway

We came up to this home to get a dose of snow and winter in the mountains and it did not disappoint. It was cozy and easy to have a great experience with our family. The view of the lake and river was fantastic and it was exactly what we were looking for.

Very Relaxing

Absolutely gorgeous. This is a nice quiet off st from the main rd home along the river. Art & Meaghan were great hosts who ensure you’ll have everything you need for your stay and then some. The communication was flawless along with the entire stay. Such a wonderful little spot to clear your mind. Thank you to Art & Meaghan.

Charming, private & spacious

We felt so welcomed. The shoreline is easy to get to. There are sturdy wooden stairs to the lower lawn. We sat streamside for hours, where we also had campfires. The cottage is beautiful. The two bedrooms are upstairs, beds were comfortable. There is an attached screened porch with a table and four chairs. The main floor interior is spacious, furniture is comfortable too

A much-needed vacation and get away.

This property was very clean. Very nice. It had all the amenities, everything that you would need. It's nice and quiet. The neighbors aren't close. It's a good place to go to get away. Very nice. I would stay here again

Sacandaga River/Lake Cabin

This Cabin offers river views, a space to launch a kayak or two, outside gathering areas, a choice of inside eating areas and table space for puzzles, board or card games. For warm days or nights, we enjoyed the river view from a large mosquito screen fabric tent on the elevated deck with a large table and chairs underneath. We had all meals there, and found the tent great for reading and “catch up chatting time.” Below the deck we enjoyed a s’mores campfire with the babbling river serenade in the background. The living room is small, and a bit dark. It was comfy for three. My favorite space inside was the large kitchen room complete with a wood burning stove. The unique wood counter with granite counter tops look great.I wonder about an additional love seat, chair and lamp added to this space may allow another comfy spot to relax and read indoors- when living room is full. Since the lake water is lowered in August, it was a bit tricky moving our kayaks to the river over so many rocks…but it was so worth it. The paddling was awesome. We traveled down past the town launch out to lake area. The views are so beautiful, especially in the morning. Thank you for sharing your secluded cabin on the river. You have done a great job with the knotty pine. It feels like a cozy north woods cabin.

Lovely home!

My family (myself, husband and 2 daughters 12 and 14) stayed here for a week and we had a great time! We enjoyed the house, water and kayak. The washer and dryer were great to have in the home as well! This house has everything you need. It feels secluded but is conveniently located to Northville. Arthur and Meghan even left a toy for our dog :) Hope to come back next summer :)

Perfect location!

The property and home has everything you need to make for a comfortable and easy stay. There is plenty to do in the area. We enjoyed the seasonal highways nearby to bike and the access to the water on site was perfect.

Love it!

We left Richmond,Va with the goal of escaping the heat and humidity and having a quiet and peaceful vacation. We hit the jackpot! It is obvious that Art and Meghan want their guests to feel right at home, and we did. We have stayed at 20 rentals in the last 15 years and this was one of the best!

Amazing stay

We loved our time at this property. The house is wonderfully appointed, the owners are incredibly responsive, the street is very private and being on this part of the river was so quiet even during a very busy holiday. Would 100% stay again and would highly recommend.

Second stay just as good as the first

This was our second time staying at the cabin, and we had an amazing time once again. Meghan and Arthur are fantastic hosts, communicative and very responsive. The house is cozy and spacious, and the views are breathtaking. The photos don't do it justice. The perfect setting for anyone looking to disconnect from the world and enjoy peace and quiet surrounded by stunning nature. We will go back again for sure!

Beautiful Inside and Out

So impressed right off the bat on arrival. Breathtaking and tranquil environment. House was very uniquely done and very catered to guests. Nothing like having a morning coffee watching the river and seeing the beautiful forest across. Id give 10 stars if I could and we will definitely be back. Owners are beyond accommodating.

Peaceful retreat still close to amenities

This was our first time renting a property through Vrbo so we not certain what to expect, but this experience set the bar high for any future bookings! Property is on a quiet road, sheltered by woods on either side so you feel completely away from it all. Perfect part of the river to be on, very minimal traffic comes by because the water is on the shallow side, but still deep enough to catch some fish or take the kayak out. House itself is well appointed and quite spacious. We only used the king bed in the master to review, but it was a very comfortable mattress. The host literally has thought of everything you could need as others have mentioned. My husband and I, as well as our dog, loved the place and are already talking about booking this property again next year.

Clean, dog-friendly, riverside location

Great location and property on the river for an end-of-summer getaway. Clean and dog-friendly. The property was large and we enjoyed the lawn, the river, the fire-pit and the covered shelter on the deck. There were plenty of board games which we used on the days that didn't allow us to be outside. We were lucky to have abundant water in the river as it has been rainy. The owners were responsive to questions. We did not lack for anything. Thank you for sharing your property. Highly recommend.
