Charming villa Casolare set in private, enclosed grounds with pool and daily housekeeping

Property type villa
Minimum Stay 4 - 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 3.5 Bathrooms, 6 Sleeps

A charming retreat tucked into the woods, villa Casolare is the perfect spot for a family vacation or romantic getaway. With its fairy-tale exterior and rural location, the three-bedroom house feels like a secret hideaway, yet is still close enough to the cities of Tuscany, like Pisa, Florence, Siena and Lucca, for day trips.

Just through the propertys gated entrance, youll find broad lawns, groves of shade trees and well-tended flower beds. A terrace off the dining room offers a table and chairs for al fresco dining, and a charcoal barbecue lets you cook outside, too. Terraced landscaping leads to the pool, which has its own sunny terrace. Even though Casolare looks like it came out of a storybook, the villa is air-conditioned and equipped with Wi-Fi, and an iPod and computer are available upon request.

Inside, the villa is elegant and modern, with warm, neutral walls and trim, traditional-style furnishings gathered around a fireplace and classic patterned drapes in the living room. The dining room has the same balance of stateliness and comfort, with a long table that seats eight, floral-upholstered chairs and a Murano-style chandelier for sparkle. In the kitchen, youll find a large range, modern appliances like a juicer and food processor, and sleek pale-wood cabinets and stone countertops.

Each of Casolares three bedrooms has a queen bed, en-suite bathroom and air conditioning. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, and one bedroom on the third floor. (The living areas, along with the homes main entrance, are on the second floor.) The bedrooms are decorated with more restful neutral tones, set off by antique chests, four-poster beds and even painted closet doors in one of the rooms.

Thanks to the villas location on a larger estate once owned by the bankers to the Medicis, theres plenty to explore nearby on foot. Its only a 5-minute drive to town, where theres a restaurant, grocery store and seasonal truffle tastings and sales. A clinic and tennis court are 10 minutes away by car, and a hospital and train station are 15 minutes away. Play a round at the golf course, 20 minutes away, or spend a day at the beach, 45 minutes away. When its time to leave, the airport is a 35-minute drive.

An amazing villa in the heart of Tuscany

  • 4 of 5

Villa Casolare is an excellent villa conveniently located for easy access to the cities of Pisa, Florence and Siena. We loved our week at the villa which is very spacious and has beautiful gardens.

A perfect house for 3 couples

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a secluded area near the small town of Forcoli. The house is well appointed with a large living room, outdoor and indoor dining options and a good working kitchen. The bedrooms are all ensuite and comfortable. There is also a nice pool and grill area that we were too busy to use. We had a chef cook and serve us dinner twice. This was a very relaxing option. Having TV's in all the rooms was appreciated, but a few more English stations would be an improvement. Two great options in the area is lunch on the terrace at Quatro Gigli and truffle hunting and lunch with Massimo in San Miniato. Finally, we were very impressed with our key lady Lisa. She was a great help and went out of her way to make us feel welcome.

Communication before and during...

  • 4 of 5

Communication before and during stay was great. Villa itself was very nice, but location could have been better. It was right next to a nondescript town, and quaint old villages were a bit further away. Villa was also in heavily wooded area, so not as much natural light, and no vistas of the Tuscan countryside.

it was better then we expected except for the pool not being heated. At least we should have been informed that it is not heated and which months are still cold and the pool not useable. This way we didn't have to bring our swimming gears.
