About the host
Hosted by Jenna
We are Ty and Jenna, the founders of Life of the Modern Nomads. Ty spent over 20 years as a luxury custom home builder before we made the shift into hospitality. Jenna is a designer, entrepreneur, and the founder of Winton and Waits, a boutique lifestyle brand with locations in Fort Worth and Aledo. Together we build, design, and host every property in this collection ourselves. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is accidental. Every detail in every home was chosen by us, for a reason.
We have lived and worked in the Fort Worth and Granbury area for nearly 30 years. We are not investors who manage properties from a distance. We are locals who know this region deeply, care about it genuinely, and take personal pride in every stay that happens inside one of our homes.
Our background in custom home building means we approach hospitality the way a builder approaches a custom project. The finish level matters. The layout matters. The way a space makes you feel the moment you walk in matters. We do not cut corners and we do not settle for good enough. That standard is visible in every property we host and it is the reason guests come back.
We are glad you found us and we look forward to taking care of you.

Why they chose this property
Most people walked this property and saw an aging lakeside shop with good bones and a great view.
We saw something completely different.
We saw the opportunity to build a place centered around how people actually want to spend time together when they get away—outside, moving, recovering, and staying connected long after the sun goes down.
The Noir was built as one of the most ambitious transformations we have ever taken on. Every decision, from the sport pool to the sauna and cold plunge to the layout of the outdoor spaces, was made to create a property that feels different the moment you arrive and even more so the longer you stay.
This is not a traditional lake house, and it was never meant to be one. It is a place designed for energy during the day, recovery in the evening, and a pace that naturally slows everything down without ever feeling still.
Built, not bought. Designed with intention.

What makes this property unique
A true lakefront wellness retreat built around a complete hot–cold circuit on the water. A barrel sauna with glass lake views, a vintage cold plunge tub, and a heated hot tub sit within steps of each other, creating a recovery experience that is typically only found in high-end wellness resorts, not private lake houses.
A full sport pool with built-in basketball and volleyball anchors the backyard, paired with a large tanning ledge designed for all-day use. At night, integrated LED lighting and string lights transform the entire space into a completely different environment, extending the experience well beyond sunset.
A layered outdoor layout designed for movement and flow. From the elevated deck with lounge seating and dining, to the water’s edge fire pit with Adirondack chairs, to adult swings positioned directly on the shoreline, to a dedicated fishing station and four kayaks staged for immediate use, the property is built to keep groups outside without needing to think about where to go next.
Located at the convergence of Long Creek, Lake Granbury, and the Brazos River, offering panoramic water views, direct lake access, and a natural setting that feels private while remaining just minutes from town.
A bold, design-forward interior that matches the energy of the exterior. A pink pool table anchors the main living space, surrounded by original artwork created in collaboration with a local Texas artist and curated Round Top antiques. In the primary suite, a custom-built headboard and neon-lit accents create one of the most recognizable and photographed rooms in the collection.
Part of a larger lakefront compound. The Noir sits directly next to The Blanc, allowing both homes to be booked together for up to 30 guests. Expanded group configurations through La Vie Lake Retreat and La Maison du Lac accommodate up to 54 guests across multiple homes on the same street.
