Casa Timlin is perfect for romantic getaways, families, couples, and friends celebrating something special.

Perched above Playa del Coco, this modern home is built around sweeping Pacific views, beautiful sunsets, and the simple pleasure of being together. It was designed around one idea: a home where you can unwind and feel completely comfortable sharing time with the people you love.

You may come to Costa Rica to explore, but you may end up deciding you'd rather stay home. Swim, prepare the catch of the day, or get the hot tub ready for another spectacular sunset. Many of our guests tell us their favorite part of the day is simply settling into the pool or hammock and watching the sun disappear over the Pacific.

But the experience goes beyond the house. I personally welcome guests on arrival. Reyna, our dedicated housekeeper, keeps the home fresh every day, cleans all rooms and update linens, and helps with local breakfasts and lunches on request. After a day exploring, she can also prepare a home-cooked Costa Rican dinner so you can come home, relax, and enjoy the evening without going back out.

Our concierge, Ian, will help you build the trip around what you actually want to experience, from a private sunset cruise and dinner on a secluded beach to fishing, waterfalls, massages, or simply finding the right local restaurant. His local knowledge means you don't have to figure it out yourself.

Casa Timlin isn't your typical vacation rental. It's a home built on 20+ years of learning what guests actually want in a luxury retreat. Today, a small team helps me perfect that for every family we have the honor of hosting. We're not focused on maximizing rentals. Our goal is delivering a high-quality experience, and our exceptional reviews are the result.

This "home" is definitely a home away from home! Tim met us at the door, showed us around and introduced us to Reyna. Reyna is magical! Sweetheart of a lady that spoiled us with wonderful local foods! We stayed and enjoyed the beautiful home, stunning views, and perfect setting except one day for an excursion! We spent a week at Casa Timlin and it was the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in. Tim was a great host! He met us at the house and walked us through everything and he was very quick to respond to any messages we sent to him before our trip and during our vacation. He gave us great recommendations for our excursions and set us up with the house concierge Ian. Ian booked everything for us and checked in afterwards to make sure everything went well. Reyna is the housekeeper and she truly helped to put this vacation over the top. Coming back to a clean house, empty dishwasher, made beds and clean towels was a dream! The house itself is amazing and has the absolute best view. We sat in the pool for hours looking at the ocean, and sat every night watching the sunset. The patio is where we had coffee in the morning listening to the howler monkeys and birds. Playa del Coco is just down the hill and we were able to get groceries. There is a delivery service as well and it was so great to have a stocked fridge at the beginning of the trip. The house was spacious and fit our family of 6 perfectly. We spent our nights watching movies and relaxing in the downstairs media room and the kids enjoyed the games too. Don't hesitate to rent this house. Thank you so much to Tim, Reyna and Ian for the trip of a lifetime. We hope we can return!!

Hands down one of my favorite vacations. Costa Rica was beautiful and tropical, people were nice. But what made the whole trip for me was staying at Casa Timlin. The house was pure luxury! The views, the decore, the pool, the size. You name it, it checked all my boxes! The icing on the cake was Reyna. She was the house keeper. She had a grand homemade dinner waiting for us our first night. After a long day of travel we arrived at Casa Timlin around 8pm. It was so nice to be greeted with the wonderful smell of a home cooked meal. For the rest of the week she would come in the morning and clean the house from head to toe including mopping inside and outside and changing our linens every couple of days. She was so sweet and very quiet. Before we knew it the house was spotless and she quietly said goodbye. Tim was also very attentive making sure we had every thing and Ian was great helping us with excursions. LOVED Casa Timlin!

If I could give Casa Timlin more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.I have been traveling and booking accommodations through VRBO for well over 10 years, and without question, this was the best experience I have ever had. We travel frequently and have stayed in countless vacation homes, resorts, and rentals in different cities and countries, but nothing has come close to the experience we had at Casa Timlin.From the very beginning, Tim was exceptional. His communication was outstanding even before we booked the property. He was responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed. He answered questions promptly, provided recommendations, and made us feel comfortable long before we arrived. Once our trip was confirmed, his level of service only got better. He even helped coordinate transportation from the airport to the house, making our arrival completely stress-free.When we finally arrived at Casa Timlin, we were blown away. The property is beyond breathtaking. The views are absolutely stunning, and the home itself looks like something straight out of a movie. Every room feels thoughtfully designed, and every detail contributes to the overall experience. The pictures are beautiful, but they still don't fully capture how incredible this place is in person.What made this stay so special wasn't just the house itself—it was the entire experience. We had a fantastic experience at Casa Timlin! The owner met us at the house on check-in and helped us get acquainted with the home and various features. The location was perfect and views are incredible! Daily housekeeping and breakfast were part of the package, although we only utilized 2 days of the service. The pool was pristine and we really loved the solar hot tub, which was a first for us! Everything about our stay was top-notch and we would highly recommend Casa Timlin for anyone wanting a beautiful location, quick access to the surrounding beaches, and solitude.

I was very impressed by the overall condition of the house, the ease of check-in, and the availability of the host. Casa Timlin was exactly what we needed for our stay in Costa Rica. The house was very well stocked, even with items that you may not expect in a vacation rental such as spices, foil, and aluminum foil. We went out and explored most days, but always ended up back there to cook dinner and enjoy the beautiful pool and sunsets. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay. The house was beautiful, it was a perfect spot for us to relax, unwind and enjoy our vacation. In addition to the beautiful house, the people operating the residence were nothing but exceptional, friendly and respectful. Tim and Ian were always available when needed, and able to provide us with great insight and knowledge of the area. First time to Costa Rica. Casa Timlin was fantastic. Beautiful infinity pool looking onto ocean sunset. Well located, close to beaches, activities, restaurants and only 45 min drive from Liberia Airport. Host was communicative and welcomed us on site. Reyna (maid/cook) was wonderful (first rental I've been with a daily maid service). Ian (the concierge) was helpful in recommending different activities for during our trip. Casa Timlin had everything and can't beat coming back to a sunset view after a full day of exploring Costa Rica.

Our stay at Casa Timlin in Costa Rica was absolutely incredible—easily a 5-stars-plus experience and one we will never forget.The highlight of the property is undoubtedly the infinity pool and hot tub, which overlook a breathtaking view of the water. Whether it was morning coffee, an afternoon swim, or watching the sunset from the hot tub, the view never got old. It truly felt like our own private slice of paradise.The location is also fantastic. The house has easy access to the beach, shops, and restaurants, which made exploring the area simple and fun. The walk back up to the house is a bit steep, but honestly it just made returning to the stunning views at the top even more rewarding.A huge thank you to Tim, the host, who was incredibly accommodating. He responded quickly to any questions and was so easygoing and helpful throughout our stay. It made the entire experience seamless and stress-free.We also have to give special recognition to Reyna, the extraordinary housekeeper. Our stay at Casa Timlin was GREAT! We utilized the concierge for all our transfer needs and excursions. Reyna was a delight to see every morning and we asked her to cook us up a wonderful meal that we had at the house. Walking distance the beach and restaurants. The pool was a delight for the afternoon sun. Accommodations were very comfortable and The stereo system was a BONUS. Casa Timlin is a definite 10 !!! Book it! Before someone else does!

We absolutely LOVED our visit to Casa Timlin. The house was literally amazing! The views were unbelievable. The pictures do not do it justice. Our Favorite thing to do was watch the sunsets from the pool everyday. Every meal that we ate at the house we ate outside. This place has all the amenities and the views are breathtaking from every room in the house. Tim was an awesome host who was there to answer any questions we had and made us feel right at home. We didn’t even know that Reyna was there it seemed like our beds were magically made each day and the house was clean when we would get home from our excursions that Ian helped us schedule. My family of 5 had the time of our lives. We loved Costa Rica so much we can’t wait to come back. When we do come back we will only stay at Casa Timlin.Pura Vida!

Tim has a fantastic house. It's modern, clean, and well stocked. He is easy to reach and communication was easy. The house is within walking distance to the beach, however, it is on a steep hill and may not be easy for all. I would recommend having a car for ease of getting around.

What an amazing place to stay on the Playa Del Coco coast!! We enjoyed Tim's home so much we never wanted to leave! Everything about the home is 5-star - from the comfortable beds, bathroom amenities, fully-stocked kitchen, infinity pool, deck furniture, etc., etc. We just wished we had stayed longer. Tim has thought of everything and is so kind. He has great people working for him to help with concierge services, housekeeping and meal preparation. He has such nice touches, including beautiful flowers to enjoy during your stay. We are looking for a reason to return to Costa Rica just to stay at Tim's place again!

Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, I left a corporate career and set out on a life-changing journey to Costa Rica over 20 years ago. Playas del Coco became home, and over the years I didn't just design and build this property, I founded and operated one of the largest luxury property management and vacation rental companies in the Guanacaste region for 18 years. What you'll experience at Casa Timlin is the culmination of nearly two decades spent learning what makes a high-end vacation truly work: service, comfort, and consistency.

In 2024, I sold my company and traded my flip-flops and beach lifestyle for the tranquility of the rainforest. I now live about 90 minutes away near the Río Celeste waterfall, where I develop real estate and personally manage every guest stay at Casa Timlin.

In my free time I'm with my two boys, riding motorcycles, dancing salsa, merengue, and bachata, traveling, and building custom furniture from prestigious local hardwoods, many pieces of which you'll see and use throughout Casa Timlin. When you stay here, you're living with the things I've built by hand.

This isn't just another rental. It's a home, professionally maintained, supported by a seasoned local team, and backed by a deep foundation in hospitality. Every detail reflects the care, comfort, and quality every guest deserves, and about 30% of our guests care enough to come back.

Playas del Coco drew me in over twenty years ago and never let go. It's one of the few places in Guanacaste with a real, living local town right alongside the beach. Casa Timlin sits in the hills just above yet you're only five minutes from the supermarket, pharmacy, bank, and a great mix of local sodas and beachfront restaurants.

What I love most is the balance: spend the morning on the water, then come home to total quiet and privacy above the bay. Everything close by, without ever losing the calm that makes Costa Rica feel like Costa Rica.
