Escape the city and unwind in this tastefully renovated cottage – perfect for a family or a romantic getaway!! Nestled in Fulford Harbour, you approach the sunny 2.5 acre property from a circular driveway. The cottage is beautifully situated to enjoy stunning ocean views of Russell Island and Mt Baker. Two sets of French doors lead out to a deck that will leave you breathless with the spectacular views.

A designer-inspired kitchen with a gourmet Heartland stove has everything you need to prepare summer meals and enjoy them on the flagstone patio. The kitchen is very well equipped even for a discerning chef. And for those on clean up duty, a 2 drawer dishwasher and large farmhouse sink make the job easy!

An expansive living room with a vaulted ceiling is furnished with pine Canadiana pieces for your comfort. Books, board games and videos are available to help you unwind and relax or share some laughs. The warmth of the wood burning fireplace will keep you cozy on those cooler days.

A peaceful sleep awaits you in one of 3 bedrooms: one with a queen bed overlooking the ocean, a second queen bed with views to the forest. A secret loft is also available for additional sleeping and has a queen size bed from which you can enjoy the stars and moon through the skylight. (It is accessed with an oak library-style ladder so not for everyone) Two newly renovated bathrooms also await you– one powder room and a second with a walk-in rain shower.

Spend your days soaking in the sights and sounds on this quiet part of the island. Meandering through the forest trails on the property. Whether enjoying your morning coffee on the deck or happy hour on the patio, you are sure to love the outdoor living that awaits you!

There are several ‘extras’ at this family friendly cottage. The lower level has a Foosball and Ping Pong table. The kids nook has several toys for various ages as well as a super cool Harry Potter sleeping hollow. For the youngest guests, we have a playpen, baby monitor and highchair (booster seat type) available for your enjoyment.

We truly enjoy sharing our piece of paradise. In the spirit of giving back, we donate a percentage of the revenues to our favourite charities: Mosaic, BC Women's Hospital Foundation and Upendo - a Tanzanian orphanage

NOTE: A secondary cabin is on the property and used by the owner only. It is fully self contained and has its own patio space, etc. If you have questions, please ask. .

Salt Spring Sunrises

We had a wonderful stay in this well appointed, well equipped cottage. The sunrises are amazing and we enjoyed our early mornings on the deck watching the ferries go by. The kids loved the zip line, bean bag toss and ping pong. Lots of toys and games to keep them amused and give us some downtime! A great location to explore the island and all it has to offer.

Beautiful Cottage overlooking the water

This was a great find. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. The living room complete with fireplace overlooks the ocean. There is a beautiful well appointed kitchen and three nice size bedrooms up with plenty of space and a nice bathroom with walk in shower. The outer deck overlooks the ocean and just a few steps to the beach makes this also a fantastic summer getaway. The internet was great and the cottage has a nice assortment of games. We’d really enjoyed our stay and will be rebooking in the spring for next summer.

Great Cottage

I use VRBO quite a bit and this cottage is a perfect setup for young family like ours. 2 y/o & 10 month. The place has everything you need and a very comfortable home vibe with fun vintage decor here and there. The extras like toys, books, movies and games kept the kids occupied when we needed it. Salt Spring is right size for a 7 day getaway. Its very laid back with just enough to do to keep you going somewhere each day. We had a small issue come up during our stay I can vouch that John is on top of things and quick to respond to emails/texts when needed. Outstanding place. If we ever come back to this Island we will check this place first!

You need to stay here!

My brother and his wife and my husband/I stayed here at the end of road trip together from Calgary to the BC Coast. And what a place to finish the trip it was! As we crossed from Victoria to Fulford Harbour on the ferry, my sister-in-law could not wait to get off and start driving around on Salt Spring - then she saw the cottage and she just wanted to settle down and never leave. Never leave ever, maybe! Juniper Cottage is, in a word, beautiful. It is beautifully furnished, beautifully equipped, beautifully located - I would stay here again in a heartbeat. As there were only four of us, we stayed in the two bedrooms off of the living room on the main floor. We gave my brother/his wife the front room, with the inlet view, and they loved waking up to beautiful sunrises. The loft room looked very comfortable and would be great if 3 couples wanted to stay together here. The basement has laundry facilities, and sleeping accommodations for a bunch of kids, should that be your thing. Sue, the caretaker, popped by to see how we were and if we needed anything - nice! That was just one of the many things that makes a stay in Juniper Cottage special - from the fresh flowers in vases around the place, to the friendly welcoming note from Sue. If you like watching ferry traffic, this is your place. The ferries going to/from Fulford Harbour cruise by incredibly closely - you can hear them making announcements to passengers as they go past! The Juniper Cottage deck is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. We would recommend this place 100% - you need to stay here! Derek and Norma Kenward Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Incredible home!

Great view and lots of room.

Includes everything you need in a relaxing spot with a great view. Unfortunately beach access wasn’t available during our stay but you don’t have to drive too far to find a beach.

Absolutely gorgeous home. Well stocked with everything you need. Beds are so so comfortable that it was hard to get out in the mornings. Stunning views from morning until night. The kitchen was by far my favorite room. So well executed. All rooms are exceptionally clean and the lovely energy in the home is the first thing that will greet you. Would come back again in a heartbeat.

This space was over the top beautifully designed, charming with all the comforts.

This rental has everything you can think of packaged in the most charming way possible. The design had to have been done by a professional with every attention to detail and comfort. The property itself is also lovely with three resident bunnies appearing in the morning on the two nights we stayed. Highly recommended for anyone who is particular AND downstairs it is a children's paradise with tons of things to do indoors. We were just two couples this time, but will come back with our kids and grandkids next time. Just amazing. Thank you!

The Best!!

For our 46th trip together our ladies group could not have picked a better home. Walking in to flowers in every room, view of the ocean, every convenience you could ever need. Enjoying a glass of wine in front of a cozy fire. Loved the loft, knocked my head a couple times on the ceiling...my bad. Congrats to the owner and helper for offering a perfect vacation spot and it would be amazing for families with young children, especially the Harry Potter room!!

Very comfortable home with beautiful views and area

Myself and 2 girlfriends stayed at this lovely cottage for 3 nights and we had the most amazing time. The home is more than comfortable, all of the fixtures and emenities have been invested in with great care and attention. I’m talking very comfortable beds, extra blankets, stunning kitchen and patio, wood fireplace with tons of wood and kindling. The owners have really thought about what it takes for a comfortable stay. The property is private with its own little magical forest, garden and lake view patio. I can’t say enough about how comfortable this home is. Thank you for hosting us John!

Has to be the best property on the island!

This is such an amazing place, with so many charming touches. The amenities are great, and we loved waking up in the morning and sitting on the patio to sip our coffee. I really enjoyed the loft with the skylights. Simply one of a kind place. Loved our weekend here!

Beautiful, well equipped family cottage

We had a wonderful stay at Juniper cottage! The pictures don’t do the view justice. The house is beautiful and very well equipped. It had everything you need when traveling with small children. Our kids had a ball playing with all the toys and we enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and watching the ferries go by. The property was beautifully cared for and thoughtfully maintained. We arrived to fresh cut flowers in every room and a canister full of coffee.

Great property

Games room was heaven except that it was too cold to stay there for too long. Our travels was in the winter though, so its understandable. Love the many hidden gems that we did not expect as part of the property. Too bad the weather was too cold to enjoy the surrounding area; would love to come back on warmer weather-days.

We are a family of four who fell in love with Salt Spring Island. We bought the cottage with an eye to the future as our children are young and getting away from city life was important to us.

Why Salt Spring? It has a very strong sense of community and a robust set of events, shows and cultural activities. Additionally, having an island hospital was very important to our situation. Finally, if we choose to enjoy a fabulous meal there are wonderful restaurants on the island.

And the real reason...we are able to create great memories by having a second family join us. The kids love exploring the outdoors while the parents savour an adult 'playdate' over a bottle of wine?!?! Who says you have to wait until retirement!
