About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, Sleeps 4

Welcome to June's Place- a sunny beach home with a soul located on the exquisite and tranquil Pt. Monroe. Discover the front beach footsteps away from your door or relax on the spectacular natural Ipe wood back deck on the lagoon. Tastefully appointed interior incorporating a blend of contemporary and 100 year-old antique furnishings. High-quality, well-maintained home with natural bamboo flooring throughout. The main living area with views to the beach surrounds a natural wood burning stove for warm conversation. Relax in the sitting room with a good book, watch a movie or the wildlife in the lagoon. Create a meal in the fully equipped kitchen and dine on the back deck over the lagoon or inside with views to the front beach. Enjoy a beach fire or have a picnic! Play a game of croquet or savor a stroll along the beach. Slow down, experience the exquisite surroundings, rich wildlife and changing of the tides

Birdwatching: For those of you who are birdwatchers, you will be thrilled with what you might “spot” during your visit. The autumn, winter, and spring months bring extraordinary, migratory visitors to both the salt water estuary, and deep waters of Agate Pass. Amongst the confirmed spots: Black Oystercatcher, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Harlequin Duck, Long Tailed Duck, Surf Scoter, Common and Barrow’s Goldeneye, Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, Common Merganser, Red Breasted Merganser, Double Crested Cormorant, Pigeon Guillemot, American Wigeon, Common Murre, Horned Grebe, Western Grebe, Surfbird, Killdeer, Greater Yellowlegs, Black Turnstone, Sanderling, Western Sandpiper. During the summer months, the resident Great Blue Herons, Belted Kingfishers, Bald Eagles, and Mallard Ducks will entertain you down by the water. Just take a short walk to nearby Fay Bainbridge State Park, and listen to and look at the trees. Early morning and just before sunset are the best times for woodland birding.

Test your beachcombing skills to find sand, seashells, stones and driftwood, along with gems of green, blue, red and orange sea glass. For the discerning comber, look for the agates, mostly orange, with the sun to their back, on the lowest of tides, right at the line between the large rocks, and the sand...

Why Leslie Carey chose Bainbridge Island

My property was purchased by my late parents in the 70's, originally a small cabin which was totally rebuilt in 1992 to become a year-round home for my mother, June. I have many fabulous memories of spending glorious summers here as a child and still to this day it is a place that warms my heart and soothes the soul.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The Lake Isle of Innisfree

William Butler Yeats

I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,

And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made;

Nine beans rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee,

And live alone in the bee-loud glade.

And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow….

I hear lake water lapping with low sounds by the shore; I hear it in my deep heart’s core.

June’s Place reminds me of Yeats’ poem, and staying here cures most ills and heartaches - I find there is no “cure” for leaving, except perhaps to return again and again. Thanks Leslie for making it all possible.

Lovely tranquil home with beautiful views all around

  • 4 of 5

Very well maintained property that is comfortable, well-equipped and relaxing. The kitchen has everything one would need for cooking and eating in and the beach front makes for a great reading and relaxing area. If you are motivated, you can build a fire on the beach. My only suggestion is there could be a few more chairs on the water/sound side if there are more than two people staying in the property. Otherwise, a lovely stay and would recommend it for a nice getaway.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay! I keep the extra chairs outside on the porch but they certainly can be taken out to the beach. 3 adult and 2 children's chairs. We try not to keep them on the beach at all times as a strong south wind can blow them into the water.

FABULOUS waterview (from TWO sides) property -- enjoyed every moment!

  • 5 of 5

From earliest moment of making reservation to checking in and easy check out -- everything was well thought out. We enjoyed a marvelous time. We laughed, played and slept soundly next to the clean ocean air. The cook-out was fun. Generous supply of clean towels, linens, kitchen items galore and more made possible many warm and lasting memories. June's Place is a delight in every possible way. Becky and Bob H.

A Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5

This is my second summer spending time at June's Place. It's really pretty perfect, nicely set up for entertaining friends, gorgeous views on both sides of the house, and every comfort one might want. If you're a cook, you might, as I do, bring your own knives, but other than that, everything you need is right there. i almost don't want too many people to know about it, in case it gets too crowded and there's no room for me next year!

Excellent location with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

What a serene and relaxing getaway! The house is located in a very quiet area with water on two sides of the property. You can enjoy a fire on the beach or sit on the beautiful deck. The house was exceptionally clean and well furnished. It's the perfect place to unwind and just enjoy the scenery. We highly recommend this property for your time on beautiful Bainbridge Island.

Senic views, clean, tranquil, friendly neighbors

  • 5 of 5

We were there over the fourth of July. Even with fireworks it was the most peaceful and restful place we stayed on vacation. We also got spectacular views of people setting fireworks off all along the shore.

The kitchen was well provisioned. Wish we could have taken advantage of the beach fire pit while we were there, that was also well provisioned. The house was clean, well maintained, it was a lovely area, and the neighbors were very nice. Would definitely go back!
