We were so happy to stay here for two months while we house hunted. We were grateful to find a place that would allow us to have our two cats. We enjoyed the flora and fauna of the property and the beautiful, easy-to-walk neighborhood. Randy, the property manager, was great! He was a wonderful resource for us as we learned more about living on the island. Def would recommend to family and friends staying in the area.
The house and property are beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. We loved the screened in porch for dinners at night. Thanks for sharing your house!

Aloha Rhianna. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Hale Lezarde. It is hard to capture the beauty of the rain forest setting in pictures! We also love the lanai, especially for coffee in the mornings and afternoon cocktails. It was our pleasure to share our home with you.

This is a beautiful property, so clean and the surrounding gardens are lush and full of flowers and birds. Well set up and we had nothing missing. A deal for the price. As there were only the two of us we didn’t use the ohana, but this place would have been roomy for 5-6 people. We really loved it here. Restful and quiet. We hope to come again!
It was just what we wanted -- feels secluded in the jungle. Coqui frogs are very loud most of the night.

About the host
Hosted by Mark and Sandy
Mark (also known as 'The Bear') and Sandy (also known as 'The Lizard' or 'Mme. Lezarde') Sandy have been vacationing in the Puna District of the Big Island since 2007, and have come to love it as a second home. Mark and Sandy are the founders of Lezarde Travel, LLC, a Hawaii Company, specializing in adventure and romance travel experiences for those seeking to see the world and live in it the way you always imagined it could be. Currently, Lezarde Travel, LLC is arranging select trips according to our interests, and we are open to arranging unique experiences for those clients willing to work with us in our early days. Lezarde Travel, LLC is also proud to offer rental accommodations at Hale Lezarde, our vacation home on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Come, be part of the Story.
Why they chose this property
After bringing a group of friends to the Big Island in May 2012 for the Transit of Venus, we found we had an extra week to ourselves and Mark suggested that we look at lots with a plan to build 'some day'. But when we found Hale Lezarde, we knew we had found our dream home in paradise! Hale Lezarde has all the features that we were looking for in a vacation home: The peace and tranquility of a secluded and private one acre lot, a home with Ohana providing plenty of room for family and friends, and the location in the Puna District of the Big Island with it's unique natural beauty and energy.
What makes this property unique
We have traveled the world extensively and have never found a place more beautiful or more relaxing than the Puna District of Hawai'i. The swimming and snorkeling are amazing and the water is always warm! We love the weekly markets looking for bargains and especially the Wednesday Night Market at Uncle Robert's in Kalapana, where the party is always jumping and you always feel like family. Kaleo's in Pahoa Town has become our favorite restaurant and we celebrated Thanksgiving there in 2012! We hope you will be our guests at Hale Lezarde and experience the beauty of the rain forest and the serenity of being on Island Time!
