The hosts of 1896 historic bed and breaskfast made our stay memorable and enjoyable, they assisted with the dinner and hosting of family and friends and made lasting impression on everybody, would highly recommend and definitely will come back
Our group of 8 family on a road trip sure enjoyed our stay. The home has ample rooms and bathrooms for everyone to enjoy. Laurie was so nice accommodating our requests for Amazon box deliveries, late night delayed flight arrivals, and breakfast. We will certainly be back. Great stay.

We loved our stay at this historic home! The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. The owners were welcoming and ensured we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return. One minor issue is that one of the beds listed as a queen was a double, but this minor blip did not take away from our enjoyment of the property! Thank you for your hospitality.
We had such a great time here – it was exactly what we were hoping for with our girls weekend. The managers were so accommodating, friendly and personable. From getting a tour around the house to the continental breakfast, I would definitely recommend this house.

It was truly our pleasure to host Becky and her friends! Great guests and welcome anytime! We’re so glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful historic home to stay in with your family. Worth noting that all bedrooms are on the second floor. Trains pass by occasionally. The innkeepers were kind and attentive to our requests. We would choose to stay here again.

12 of us came to town for a celebration of life service. We wanted to be together to reminisce, laugh and cry together. The manor was amazing. Plenty of room. Lots to explore and entertainment for the young adults. Ashleigh and Brendan were exceptional hosts tentative and kind. We loved the history lessons. Thanks for making our stay perfect.

About the host
Hosted by Gina Newton
My husband and I are avid travelers and we love staying in old mansions, quaint B&B's and anywhere that has fascinating history. We live in Virginia Beach and we are honored to offer The Historic Boxwood Inn as a wonderful, clean, family operated place to stay!
Why they chose this property
As a chef/caterer, I wanted to find a venue for weddings that included rooms for guests. The Historic Boxwood Inn offered everything I could dream of. It was built and lived in by the Simon Curtis family for over 100 years. As only the 3rd person outside of the Curtis family to own this beautiful home, we are blessed to be a part of it's history.
What makes this property unique
This is a unique opportunity to see how life was in the 1800's with the added bonus of modern amenities! The house includes a general store with local artisans, local honey, fresh baked goods and a full bar. We also have a beautiful event space for up to 200 guests with in-house catering and several menu options.
