El histórico McCabe-Lancaster House se encuentra frente al océano, a pocos pasos del acceso a la playa con un puesto de salvavidas. Hay un camino circular con amplio estacionamiento en la parte de atrás. Te vas a caer en amor con esta cabaña de playa clásico con un plan de piso abierto y encanto nostálgico. Ambos niveles de esta casa se pueden alquilar de forma individual o como una casa entera. Este nivel superior tiene 3 dormitorios y 2 baños, con cocina abierta, sala y comedor. El nivel inferior tiene una rampa para discapacitados con 3 dormitorios, 2 baños, uno de los cuales tiene una ducha para discapacitados y una puerta de asistencia para discapacitados. Cada piso tiene un gran porche abierto con un columpio, mecedoras, mesa y sillas. El piso de arriba tiene una cubierta adicional con mecedoras, una tumbona y sillas. Se accede a ambos niveles desde el exterior. Hay una ducha al aire libre compartida para ambas unidades y un estacionamiento designado para el carrito de golf y una estación de carga con espacio para dos carritos. Previa solicitud, una cuna portátil y una silla alta pueden estar disponibles.

This was the perfect place to stay! The rental was extremely clean and the kitchen was the best stocked beach house kitchen we’d ever seen. The porch was a great place to relax in the evenings and the distance to the beach was ideal.

Would not come back!

House was comfortable enough…doors in the house have to be pressed firmly on in order to latch shut, the cabinets squeak and are extremely outdated so it was no surprise when the downstairs apartment complained about noise. It was frustrating trying to keep our 2 year old quiet when a few modernizing updates could really improve this property. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with children as the sound travels to the lower apartment and the property manager was none to friendly about it. The front and back doors also need the locks replaced, the bottom locks do not do anything only the deadbolt. This would be an incredible property if it were modernized and updated as well as friendly property managers! Also, half the dishes were dirty in the cabinets and had to be rewashed but they were sure to tell us we had to clean every dish and put them away (which was fine) but it seems as if nobody checks that the property is actually clean and kept before visitors come. I was super disappointed in our stay. The area is great but this property was not!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Henson Upper for our family vacation! Old school beach house, very short walk to beach access and great porch swing. But, now that Bryant is cleaning the house, it is obvious because there are spots on the carpet, the dishwasher front was not cleaned and the side of the refrigerator where the trash is kept was not cleaned nor were the shower heads in the bathrooms. Think the Bryant cleaning folks need to be a little more thorough.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location of the beach house. However, I do believe the floors should be mopped before guests arrive. I walked across the kitchen/dining room floor and my feet were black. I realize that the management company does their best in preventing pest but we did whiteness a few cockroaches. Otherwise the property was well stocked with everything you need to cook even some games for rainy days.

We only walked one house down to the beach access. The beach was not overly crowded, and there was a life guard stationed there. The boardwalk was in walking distance, and the pier at the opposite end of the road was also. We had one day of rain and one cloudy day, but you can’t control the weather. I will definitely be coming back to stay again and will recommend it to other family and friends also!! Thank You for a great week!!

Cute little place !!!

We were 4 adults and fell in love with the upper Henson! So close to beach, rode our bikes everywhere and paddle boarded in waterway behind house. Used the outdoor shower which was great! we will be back next year!

The public access to the waterway is perfect if you have a kayak or paddleboard. And the bed linens are all cotton :)

Cute Historic Home

I rented the upstairs for a weekend with my girlfriends. Due to some miscommunication, the unit had not been cleaned when we arrived. Other than that, everything was perfect. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen has all that you need and more. Public beach access is very close. We loved the history of the home. I would definitely recommend.

Three Day family vacation in Carolina Beach

It is literally about a block and a half walk to toes in the beach sand! The property is a bit dated but everything we needed was there, it was very clean, and sitting out on the deck with the babies was wonderful! We want to come back sometime before Labor Day so we will check availability! Thanks so much to the owners for a great stay!

Great Labor Day Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family (5 adults, 3 kids) stayed over Labor Day and had a great time. The space was perfectly sized as we did not feel cramped. It was very clean apart from a little dust on the ceiling fans and walls. The kitchen was also well stocked. One of our adults slept on the sleeper sofa and found the mattress less comfortable than the actual sofa. We enjoyed the front porch, especially the swing and the close proximity to the beach. There was a neighborhood cat that hung around the porch the first couple days. This was only concerning due to allergies in the family but it did not end up being a problem. We would definitely plan on staying here again.

Henson house

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was clean and in a good location. It was just across the street and down one house to the access to the beach. One concern was there is a window in the shower in the hall bathroom. We were on the second floor and the house next to us was three stories and had windows so all of us used the master bathroom to take showers. Also the walls are very thin and the people downstairs liked to stay up until 2-3 am. Except for these two things really liked it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a perfect place for our week at the beach. We had 5 adults and all had their own sleeping space. The unit was very clean and very much appreciated the linens as part of the rental fee. The supplies in the kitchen were so helpful. Plenty of paper goods. Kitchen had many cooking items so we were able to do a lot of cooking for the week. You can hear the neighbors downstairs but it was not distracting. I have stayed in that same block before so the location to the beach is great. That part of the beach is also relatively less crowded compared to closer to the boardwalk. I will definitely reserve this house again. Also, it was easy to reserve and I appreciate the frequent convenient communication with the rental agency through the app. Overall a great experience!
