I will pass along your comments about the AC to my maintenance department, as well as mention the smell to our hospitality department. We hope your stay was overall enjoyable and hope you will come back to visit us again for your next trip to Wrightsville beach! ***Update 8/19/22: The smell was due to a ceiling leak that has since been resolved. The AC has also had improvements in order to make your stay more comfortable.***

John- We are sorry to hear you were disappointed. After the spray during your stay, the mentioned bugs are no longer an issue. The dishwasher has been replaced. Hope you'll visit us at the beach again soon!

Darla, we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time at the Cardwell property! Being that close to the beach is a treat allowing for quick walks to the sand and a great view from the deck. It was important for the owner to include a lot of outdoor seating so there are plenty of rocking chairs to relax the day away. Thank you for your kind words and review, we appreciate it! Thank you for your feedback on the Cardwell property, Courtenay. We wish you would have made us aware of any maintenance issues prior to checking out, as we could have quickly resolved them. After you checked out, the owner replaced the shower head in the bathroom as well as the outdoor shower head and we are happy to say they are both working wonderfully. We never got any reports that the grill was not clean, but had you made us aware we could have sent the housekeeper back to fix it. There might be multiple typos in your review, are you saying there was no propane? If so, again, that would be a simple maintenance call to replace as we keep spares right down the road at the office. Regardless, the owner has replaced the grill and made sure there was propane available. If you stay with us again, please know we have staff on call 24/7 to address any issues that arise during your stay and encourage you to call us in that case. Cardwell is a wonderful property, and the owner has done some significant upgrades before summer including new flooring, furniture, and décor throughout. They have also simplified the system operations for the televisions as they care a great deal about their guests’ experiences and strive to continually improve their home in ways that create conveniences for vacationers. Cardwell is also just steps from the beach access and has plenty of deck space to enjoy the view! Hope you will consider our local company for your next vacation - take care!

Hi Carol, thank you for your review! The owner has continued to remodel after your stay, with new LVP floors throughout, new paint, new decor, and furnishings downstairs. The oven was also recently replaced. We hope you will return to Cardwell next time you are in Wrightsville Beach, as I'm sure you will appreciate the updates! Take care.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you encountered issues during your stay that resulted in compensation. Our management team has been working with the owner to make some improvements to the home. Our understanding from the pest control company is that the open field that surrounds the home has fleas which unfortunately has the ability to impact renters, but we are working to create a permanent remedy for this issue. Brian - thank you for your feedback. We offer a variety of homes on across three beaches. Some of our homes equate to more of a luxury villa, while others are more budget minded. This home in questions is all about the location for an active family that wants a quiet street on a budget. This is a private street, which means there is no public parking enabling parents peace of mind with children walking to and from the beach. And the home offers expansive wrap around porches with ocean views. We apologize that you did not enjoy the accommodations. We will take your feedback to the owner to make improvements, but we also encourage you to work with us directly on your next visit to ensure we find a home that fits your needs perfectly.

Hello and thank you for the review! We have been by the property and inspected the railings. We can confirm that it is worn, but is indeed safe! However, we took your feedback to the owner, who is always willing to go the extra mile, and we are excited to report that we are in the process of getting a contractor to upgrade the railings for future tenants. We will try to complete the work during the summer of 2017, but it may have to wait until the fall. Regardless, the work will completed in short order and we look forward to hosting you again in the near future!
