¡Bienvenido a Wrightsville Beach y bienvenido a Mason's Cottage! Esta clásica casa de 5 dormitorios y 5 baños está ubicada frente al mar en el exclusivo extremo sur de Wrightsville Beach. Desde la planta baja, hay 2 dormitorios que tienen sus propias entradas exteriores y baños privados. El primer dormitorio de la planta baja tiene una cama queen y una cama de día (2 gemelas), mientras que el segundo dormitorio de la planta baja tiene 2 camas individuales, lo que hace que cada una de estas habitaciones sea perfecta para los niños. Sube las escaleras y entra al nivel principal de la propiedad. A su derecha, diríjase por el pasillo y encuentre el dormitorio principal con cama king. También se encuentran fuera del pasillo 2 habitaciones más, cada una con 2 camas matrimoniales y 2 baños completos. Para comidas y reuniones, diríjase al lado este de la casa. La cocina fluye fácilmente a las áreas de comedor y sala de estar. Las zonas de comedor y de vida son de planta abierta con muchas ventanas que dan a la terraza y al océano. Salga a la gran terraza de 2 niveles que tiene mucho espacio para relajarse y disfrutar de las vistas al océano. Para la mejor vista, suba las escaleras hasta el "porche" para disfrutar de los hermosos amaneceres o cócteles por la noche. La playa está a solo unos pasos por el camino privado de acceso a la playa. Listing is as advertised, great location, nice big deck for hanging out at night, nice short walk through the dunes to the beach. We did not use the detached ground floor bedrooms and opted for squeezing all the kids and adults into the 3 bedrooms on the main floor.Great experience, would recommend!

We love the outside decking areas everything was very family oriented. We had to clean out some areas that Food was drawing ants and then had to deal with ants in the kitchen I would suggest having bins to put food in and storage bags to prevent the ant situation from starting

Great Location

This is listed as a five bedroom five bath house. Two of the bedrooms are in the basement and are Rough. I would not want to sleep down there. You have to go through unfinished areas to access and those two bedrooms are accessed by two separate exterior doors, and do not connect. It’s a nice house with plenty of room but needs a deep cleaning and bug treatment.

Cozy Cottage on the Beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Mason Cottage is a super clean and comfortable "vintage" cottage on the ocean. The location is perfect. The cottage had plenty of space for our family of 6. One thing to note is that 3 of the bedrooms (including the master) are on the 2nd, main floor. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor with separate entrances to each. The ground floor bedrooms feel more like basement/garage apartments separate from the rest of the home. Our older son stayed in one of the bedrooms. However, if I had younger children, I would not be comfortable having them stay in these bedrooms isolated from the rest of the family. Throughout the cottage, the beds were on the hard side which may be appealing to some but were not comfortable for us. As far as amenities go, beach towels, beach chairs and bikes were not provided so we had to bring our own (rented a bike). The kitchen was nicely stocked. Bed linens are provided but we had to make up all of the beds on arrival which was a different experience for us compared to prior rentals over the years. Overall, we found the cottage charming and well maintained and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

THE TV SERVICE WAS GREAT AND PROVIDED MANY OPTIONS FOR VIEWING. THE HOUSE WAS GREAT ACCOMADATION FOR GOING TO THE BEACH AND ACCESS TO WILMINGTON WAS EASY. WE ATE AT PADDY’S HOLLOW, AN IRISH PUB, AND THE OCEANIC NEARBY. BOTH WERE ENJOYABLE. THE MASON HOUSE WAS PROVIDED EVERYTHING WE NEEDED AND THE STAY WAS VERY ENJOYABLE. STAFF WERE ATTENTIVE AND RESPONSIVE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 9th year renting the Mason Cottage. It is the PERFECT location for a great family vacation! Always comfortable and clean! We rise early each morning for the beautiful sunrises. South End surf shop and Sundays (coffee, smoothies, etc.) is a short walk from the house. Harris Teeter, The Workshop (coffee, breakfast sandwiches), and Tower 7 (best tacos and margaritas) are all close too! We hope to be back here again next year!!

Mason Cottage

An issue with ants and roaches due to cleanliness of property. A dirty diaper was left in dresser. Shower and bathtubs all had mold issues. Downstairs especially.

Good location

Can’t beat the location of the property and the views from the deck are priceless. The property is older though. We were not spending a lot of time inside but updates are needed. One of the guest bathrooms had a lot of mold on the ceiling, the two downstairs rooms were hot/humid and a lot of water bugs were present inside. If you want to go to the beach and be oceanfront then this is a great bang for your buck. However, just be aware that the actual house leaves a little to be desired.

It would be great if the 3 twin beds downstairs could get new mattresses and the AC improved down there. Hopefully with the kitchen remodel a bigger fridge will be put in. We love the location. We love the cottage. One of the few vintage cottages left on the beach. The manager was great taking care of our needs.

Thanksgiving getaway

The house was comfortable and the location was fabulous. The only problem we had was arriving with a 20 lb turkey only to find an oven the size of a shoebox. We were able to scramble around and manage but the lack of a workable oven was challenging. We very much enjoyed the outdoor spaces and the easy access to the beach.

Poorly Kept, Dirty, Severely Outdated

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Extremely disappointed in our accomodations. I have rented several homes VRBO and this is the FIRST where linens/towels were NOT included, and we had to go to an office to pick up and drop off keys after our stay. Early check-in even if available was $50 per HOUR extra and check out at 10am! I felt completely nickle and dimed to death. Needless to say, the kitchen was filthy, dirty dishes with old food still caked on, a pantry with an old dirty car seat, the comforters on the beds stained, screens torn and unable to open windows, a massive fly problem, we had to cover our coffee, wine glasses and food with paper towels to keep the flies off of it (INSIDE the home). Old beer cans littered outside. No keypad entry. While it's 5 bedrooms, two of the five bedrooms are in the lower level of the home, one makeshift from a garage with no windows and dungeon like, and the other looked like an outhouse with a dingy shower. We had a plumbing problem with one of the toilets that was given attention to after several calls. The property manager had a difficult time finding a plumber but eventually did and that did get taken care of. For nearly $2000 for 3 nights!? Crazy. The couch in the main living area has a board under it to keep it from collapsing. The list goes on. I have pics if anyone wants to see more detail. It's terribly unfortunate because the location of this home is perfect right on the beach, but NOT WORTH it. I truly felt like I was robbed as did all the guests in my group.

The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and clean. The gas grill needs to be replaced as it is rusting out the bottom. My only disappointment was that there was no soap in most of the bathrooms and no beach towels or beach chairs were available. It has been our experience with other rental agencies that these items are provided. It would be easier to provide a combination lockbox or locks for the door instead of having to go to the rental agency to pick up the keys.

Grateful but underwhelmed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in decent shape. It did not feel like a ritzy beachfront vacation home (with all the new and shiny amenities), but rather like a cozy bungalow that had been in the family for years, without a ton of updates or frills. While I would have rather splurged an extra hundred dollars per night to get a nicer place, it was totally sufficient for our needs (but not all of our “wants”). I could be jaded over the fact that there was a full-blown construction project taking place next door, and our children could not nap due to the noise (so take my opinion with a grain of salt). While the rental contract clearly states that the rental agency is not responsible for neighboring construction, I think a general warning or “heads up” would serve as an act of good faith in the future (asd the project had been in full swing for months prior to our arrival). When I called and to explain the situation and asked if there were other properties available (and that we’d even pay more), the man I spoke with was very frustrated by the request and told me they weren’t obligated to meet any such request. He reiterated the terms of our contract, and eventually told me that he’d get back to me possible options after speaking with the owners. He never called back. Needless to say, I probably had a unique situation and I’m willing to concede that they were well within their rights to not change our rental (or notify us of the construction), but again, given the price point and condition of the rental – I expected more.
