Northern Lights Layover

Remodeled one bedroom home perfect for affordable, yet comfortable travel for small groups of people. The Northern Lights Layover has a full kitchen, full bathroom with a beautiful walk-in shower, and a washer & dryer. The home also has a large shared yard and off street parking with high speed internet and WIFI. The home is located less than 4 minutes from the airport!

Unwind in this beautifully remodeled little cottage in West Fairbanks. Whether using this cabin as a base camp for your Alaskan adventure or getting comfortable in the well-appointed interior and watching a movie on the flat screen, you will find that this little home has it all!

When you arrive, there will be cold bottled water and snacks waiting for you along with a Keurig and pods and a regular coffee pot for coffee. We also stock other snacks like oatmeal, chips, noodles, and granola bars. The kitchen is fully stocked with full selection of large and small appliances along with all of the cook and bakeware you will need to prepare delicious meals.

The home has been remodeled from top to bottom with a new kitchen and bathroom, LED lighting and hardwood and carpet floors throughout the home. There are two smart flat screens TV`s in the home with high-speed Wi-Fi to sit back and relax while watching your favorite shows and movies on Netflix and Hulu. The one bedroom has a queen bed with a quality mattress and bedding, and a full-size washer and dryer. The sofa bed pulls out to become a queen sized bed. If you are travelling with little ones we do have a high chair at the home, and pack and play available upon request.

The home is located on the westside of Fairbanks and is close to downtown, grocery stores, The University of Alaska Museum and other local attractions. Chena Hot Springs is about 1 hour away and Denali National Park is about 2.5 hours away. The bus line and bike paths are just one block away!

Are you traveling with a large group?! Additionally on the property are two separate VRBO rental units. One is a three bedroom one and a half bathroom cabin, and the other is a three bedroom one and a half bathroom with an attached garage. Please inquiry for booking multiple units on the property.

Making sure you have a completely enjoyable stay is our highest priority!

We try to make sure each guest has everything they need when they arrive for a comfortable stay. We send out an electronic guidebook loaded with local information and strive to make sure you are familiar with your surroundings and how to find things. We are available when needed and welcome all respectful guests to book our home.

Great Retreat

I so enjoyed staying in this charming little cabin. The kitchen was well stocked, having the ability to do laundry was convenient, and it is located near everything, but is tucked away and quiet. The stairs up to the bedroom are a little shallow, so use caution if you are unsteady on your feet, but the bedroom was large and very comfortable.

It was lovely. I rent them instead of goimg to the laundry mat. It costs half of what it would to pay for laundry. I am thankful and loved the hospitality and communication.

Lovely place needing two specific repairs/adjustments:1) Despite the thermostat saying it was off, the heat was on all night. It made it uncomfortably hot in the upstairs bedroom. 2) The sleeper sofa mattress is really bad and our daughter opted to just sleep on the couch. The sofa mattress should be replaced or not listed as a bed.
