Please note: There is a spiral staircase which leads downstairs. This is a beautiful wooden staircase built in the 1960's contemporary style. It does not have risers and can be challenging for some dogs, very young children and elderly people. Also please note: we have retained many of the original vintage mid-century modern fixtures . if you are looking for modern and brand new this home is not for you. We have all modern appliances and the house is beautiful, the location amazing, but it is not your traditional modern home. The bedrooms are simple and they are not huge, though they have everything you need.
The house was designed by a renowned architect. The upstairs emphasizes the community living space - with beautiful open design. If you love the outdoors, wildlife, incredible private beach location - this is the house for you!
The upstairs queen bedroom has air- conditioning. The lower level of the house is partially built into the earth, and thus stays cooler. We recently added a floor AC unit for the downstairs queen. We have many floor fans available for additional comfort. It is a wonderful area for sleeping, and also includes the sitting area with large flat screen TV. We are committed to using eco-friendly cleaning products.
This is a house built in a Scandinavian/European mid-20th century design style. We like our renters to be very happy and to leave very rested and rejuvenated. We do everything we can to ensure you get the vacation you deserve! This is a place of deep serenity and peacefulness, exquisite wild views, and one of the best private tidal beaches in the world! The sunsets from the beach are extraordinary. If you are lucky you will see the full moon rise and the sun set at the same time. This is a spot where you can see that.
This location will leave you breathless. Watch the boats sail by, grill on the deck at night while taking in a magnificent sunset or take a short stroll along the marsh or in nearby quaint town of Wellfleet, and enjoy some of Wellfleet’s most celebrated restaurants: The Pearl, The Bookstore Café, Ceraldi and Mac’s Shack. Venture just a bit further down the road and you’ll be in the center of downtown Wellfleet enjoying gallery walks and square-dancing nights on the Harbor.
More about Wellfleet: Home to the pristine and impressive National Seashore, haven for artists and literary scholars, heaven for foodies, Wellfleet offers all of the rugged beauty of the Outer Cape with all of the convenience of more cosmopolitan areas. Several stunning ocean beaches are all within a few miles drive, clear kettle ponds are scattered throughout the landscape (and great for little ones), WHAT Theatre and the Wellfleet Drive-In provide live and vintage entertainment respectively, and the Audubon Wildlife Center is fabulous for trail-walking. If all of that activity makes you work up an appetite, stop in at one of many amazing Wellfleet restaurants (PB Boulangerie is a local favorite for those that love truly authentic Parisian bread and pastry.) For even more excitement, Provincetown is a 20-minute drive down Route 6, and boasts great shopping, whale watching and nightlife.
National Seashore nearby
With some 27,700 acres of federally-protected undeveloped uplands, bogs, pitch pine forests, sand dunes, and ponds in six towns (Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro, and Provincetown), the Seashore takes up almost half of the town of Wellfleet and about 70 percent of Truro. In addition to six glorious ocean beaches, comprising nearly 40 miles of the finest seashore on the Atlantic coast (see our Beaches chapter), the Cape Cod National Seashore boasts nine hiking trails that meander through varied terrain.

The Massachusetts Audubon Society operates this 1,000-acre-plus tract of salt marsh, woodland, beach, tidal flats, and moorland. What was once a turnip and asparagus farm is now a haven of self-guided nature trails and superb bird watching, along with a natural history day camp for children and week-long field trips for older folk. Guided walks, canoe cruises through Nauset Marsh, Monomoy cruises and seal and whale-watching trips are regularly sponsored. The excursions are extremely popular and book up fast. The one-and-a-half-mile Goose Pond Trail, part of the 5 miles of trails, offers a look at a diversity of habitats and leads to the shore. It's an excellent place for viewing shore birds, hawks, and herons. If you're still getting to know Mother Nature, borrow or purchase a copy of the 32-page Goose Pond Trail plant identification booklet at the visitor center.
