Such a beautiful, peaceful place. You can hear the gentle sound over the river running in the valley below. It is heavenly and the perfect balance of natural beauty and easy access. The cabin is charming and has everything you need. Owner is very responsive. I loved this place and would love to come back again!

I had previously stayed at another Baptism River Cabin from the same host and the cabins at that location were much newer and fresher, which I really appreciated. But the property there, while totally fine, was nothing special. This cabin is smaller and older, but the property is really special. I would recommend both depending on what you're prioritizing. The locations of both are great in terms of proximity to trails, beaches, state parks, lake superior, etc. but the property itself at this location was truly stunning. The views from the wrap-around deck are awesome and if you stay at one of these cabins be sure to hike down to the river. At first I was a little thrown that this was a different location and an older cabin than what I expected from the other stay, but it's a sweet spot and has a very classic cabin feel. The cabin was musty and a bit stinky when I got in, but I picked up a candle and an air freshener from the Finland Co-op general store (shout-out to the co-op! It's a short drive and really convenient for getting most anything you could need) and after opening all the windows and airing it out for a little bit it was fine for the rest of the stay. The bed was very comfortable, TV and streaming worked great, and the kitchette got the job done. Bathroom and shower are perfectly functional, if a bit smaller and more rustic than the other location. Owner is nice and has good communication!
