Broaddus House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 18 in beds)

This beautiful A Frame is nestled right in the middle of the Angelina National Forest on a secluded peninsula and right on gorgeous Lake Sam Rayburn. This spacious retreat sits on over an acre on a protected cove where you can fish and ski all day long. Since we are in the middle of the National Forest, you are steps away from hunting. Enjoy miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and bird watching. Challenge your kids to a game of horse shoes, washers, badminton, or volleyball and then cool off in the lake.

The house has 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms and sleeps 18 in beds! It is fully equipped with Satellite TV, satellite internet and DVD player, dishes, kitchenware, charcoal grill, two refrigerator freezer combos, a washer and dryer. Inside dining seats 6 at the table and another 6 at the bar with seating for 16 outside on the deck. Bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels, wash cloths, and hair dryers. All three downstairs bedrooms have queen size beds. The loft bedroom has a queen bed and is upstairs. The bunk room is upstairs and has one king, one full and six twin beds. All beds have very comfortable mattresses and high quality bedding and the full, queens and king beds all have super pillow top mattresses. They are so comfortable you won't want to get out of bed!!

The property has over 300' of shoreline. A two man kayak/canoe is available with life vests. A large deck overlooks the water and is equipped with a propane fueled fire pit perfect for roasting hot dogs and smores. If you're looking for the nicest place on the lake, this is it!

About Ferryn and Steve

We are retired teachers who live in the A Frame during the winter and at our next door cabin during rental season. We love to watch the sunsets, water ski, spot bald eagles and relax on the lake during the summer.

Ferryn and Steve purchased this house in 2010

Why Ferryn and Steve chose Sam Rayburn Lake

We bought this property in 2010 and planned to rent it until we retired. However, we are now retired and even though this will be our permanent address, we are going to continue renting because it has been such a positive experience. Our family owns the small cabin next door which enables us to enjoy the lake while renting the A Frame.

What makes this house unique

We use to think that the distance from Houston was too far (takes 2 1/2 to 3 hrs) but after spending time at some lakes close to Houston with the crowds, we think our lake is the best in Texas.

Great place on the water.

Found the A frame to be clean and cozy. The dock for the boat made it very nice.

Enjoyable stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place to stay! Just the peaceful get away that we needed. The cabin is well-equipped with the essentials, modern, and in an ideal, quiet location. The water-front view is amazing, and wonderful to wake up to. Lots of DVDs to choose from if you want to have a movie night. We spent quite a bit of time on the kayak, which moved quite swiftly through the water, to our surprise. And we ate all of our meals on the beautiful deck that overlooked the water. We will happily stay here again.

Wonderful setting for our famiy celebration! The house & property were exactly as advertised.

  • 5 of 5

We gathered for a birthday celebration and couldn't been more pleased. The owners took great care in planning what their visitors would need during their stay. We had everything we needed, whether we were cooking inside or outside. They had a kayak, washers, Horseshoes, Frisbees, and the floating dock made the swimmers happy. And the hammocks were great for after lunch snoozing! The deck area made it easy for visiting while keeping an eye on the children playing. We even built a fire outback to roast hotdogs and make smores. It is a wonderful thing for your grandchildren to say they are having fun! While some may think the absence of constant cell service is a bad thing, it was so wonderful to spend time together without the constant pull of our attention to our phones. We highly recommend this property.

Bloomer, WI

Only place you need and want

  • 5 of 5

I've spent a week at this rental for the last 4 years and it keeps getting better each time! The last week was for a wedding and what a beautiful and convenient place to have it. It sleeps MANY people comfortably so no need for additional places or hotel rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked so meals (big or small) are no big deal. Large deck out back overlooking a great lake cove with a dock for your boat(s) and kayaks. Nice place to swim, fish, or just lay around on a float. Lots of birds, turtles, fish right down at the water. Friendly owners are nearby in case of any issues (non ever encountered) or questions or local recommendations. Two complete bathrooms so everyone can easily do their thing. Place was clean and ready for occupation when we arrived. I'll be back for sure!
