Perfect vacation retreat.
This property was exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful home with all the amenities, remote and quiet location, breathtaking scenery in the mountains, excellent fishing on the property and Howard was a wonderful host!
Cozy and beautiful
We had a quick weekend trip... didn't spend to much time in cabin since we were wanting to sight see and fish different areas where were sight seeing. Cabin was awesome... you felt like you were at home. Property was beautiful!! We will sure love to visit again for a longer period of time and with our kids when they get a little older! Thanks again!!
Amazing location for Fly Fishing and visiting the Colorado Rocky Mountains
The host is on the property and very friendly. The property is at the junction of two rivers on the edge of Leadville, Colorado. Walk out the door, down the driveway and you're standing in the Arkansas River fly fishing just that fast. Better yet, this is a private stretch of the river, so there is no looking for a spot between other anglers, it's all yours! It's a great place for a couple to get away from everything. There is no wifi, and cell service is sketchy inside the cabin at times, so it's quiet. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The decorations are very mountain-lodge-like, and it has a pool table if you're indoors long enough to use it. It has a deck with amazing views. Literally borders the National Forest, so hiking starts on the property. Turquoise Lake is a five minute drive through the forest. There are four-wheeling trails nearby. We live on the front range of Colorado. We've been all over the mountains over the years and can't think of a better place to spend a few nights, or a few weeks!
Better than imagined.
First Class, from the Holt's & Rosie to the unbelievable accommodations.
Great Host! Great Home!
Thank you, Howard, for a really incredible stay. We will be back!
This place is gorgeous! Very clean and beautiful furnishings. Very comfortable bed. It has a hand carved bar and pool table. Not only that, the owners are very nice and helpful and have the sweetest dog, Rosie!
Howard gave us directions to a great trail to take our ATV to the top of the mountain where there was still snow and a small lake! Simply gorgeous. He even loaned us some fishing lures to fish for trout in the rivers in front of the house!
We have stayed at many cabins but they go out of the way to provide. Normally, you are responsible for your own charcoal, laundry soap, etc. but they provided all of this! Even sample coffees for the Keurig!
They have Direct TV which was great the night it rained. It backs up to a National Forest and is an easy trip into town if you want to eat there. We definitely enjoyed it and recommend it!
Home of the Leadville 100 Bike and Foot Races, Ride the Rockies Bike Tour and numerous other events. Hiking the 14 thousand foot peaks.
