About Charlotte McIvor

We love all the UP has to offer and we are especially smitten with the small harbor town of Grand Marais as well as the beautiful area and the unique Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Hiking the North Country trail is a favorite pastime of ours. The wildflowers are numerous and amazing, as well as the waterfalls and beautiful vistas. The dunes are huge, the lake is clear and cool.

Cozy, comfortable and very convenient!

  • 5 of 5

A great way to celebrate our 30th anniversary! We strolled beaches at sunrise and sunset, star gazed listening to the waves of Lake Superior, rolled around the town on our bikes and took some day trips to lighthouses, the dunes and waterfalls, a Pictured Rocks boat cruise, the shipwreck museum and a natural spring with huge lake trout! We were blessed with all sunny and 70's, which made it extra beautiful. The house was literally a block from the beach on the bay and 2 blocks from the beach by the bigger waves of the lake, not to mention convenience to the grocery and hardware store, restaurants and museums in town. It really was comfortable inside the house as well. We had restful nights of sleep and the kitchen had everything we needed (well, except a pitcher for orange juice but we just used a bowl and scooped it out:) Charlotte was very helpful in answering our questions before we arrived and very easy to work with. We found people who lived in the town and those visiting to be equally friendly and interesting to talk to. We would definitely come back and would recommend this home to anyone visiting the lovely and peaceful town of Grand Marais!

Cute, Cozy home!

  • 5 of 5

It really felt like a home away from home while we visited pictured rocks. We had trouble with the front door lock, it was difficult to work with. We ended up using the side door for the rest of the trip, which was even better because it had an enclosed entry way for our shoes. The house very cute and had everything we needed. There was no WiFi but we went to Lake Superior Brewing Co and used theirs, as well as enjoyed good food. We will stay again!

Owner's Response: Sorry about the keys, we had to replace the lock and they are two different keys. The side door does work well, also the walkway leads you right there. Thanks for staying at the Campbell Cottage while visiting Grand Marais. There is usually wifi available from the library with instructions in the guest book. Sounds like you were resourceful!

Cute little cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was just like it was described on the web site. The boys loved that there was the little beach were they could swim and build sand castles. It was nice that we could walk to town and get a few items that we needed. The people were very friendly. Our family really enjoyed the stay.

Nice little cozy cabin with an easy walk into town...

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin was nice and cozy. We walked into town and to the beach everyday. We really enjoyed our time, the cabin had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. We had no issues with cell phone service (AT&T). Would love to stay here again!

comfy and quiet

  • 4 of 5

a nice home only a short walk to everything Grand Marais has to offer. The interior has been upgraded with new doors and trim. The only downside was no TV service--we missed getting a daily weather report.

Clean, comfortable house

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean and comfortable, with an amazingly well stocked kitchen. The owner was always very prompt with communications. I appreciated that she recommended that we take the Pictured Rocks cruise from Munising since this was our first trip to the Upper Peninsula. It's a very short walk to the center of the village, which has some restaurants and a small grocer with gas pumps. The house was a wonderful place to relax. Both my wife and I would definitely want to stay there again the next time we visit the area.
