Beautiful spot and comfortable house. Fireworks from neighbor several nights--but early and enjoyable. Kitchen was great, well equipped and roomy, though bring extra big pot if need more than one. Grill served us very well. Not as many birds as we hoped for, but time of year big factor. Well located for visiting many Birding & Wildlife Trail sites and historic places. Reedville Fisherman's Museum was surprisingly interesting and fun.

This house was beyond charming. Beautifully furnished on the water. I stay in a lot of VRBO rentals and this house by far has to be the most well-stocked home I have ever stayed in. The host thought of EVERY little detail. Communication was fantastic. Will come here, if available, every time we are in NN.

Lovely location, the photos on VRBO are accurate, the house is very well kept, clean, and in a quiet location with beautiful views, the fish were jumping, the neighbors caught crabs, and we saw a lot of Heron and water birds. Great restaurants nearby. Small complaint and not a deal breaker, just be prepared that the water pressure is low, so showering takes longer. Otherwise, a perfect place and we'll likely come back.

sisters trip

second stay . everything was same as first visit, two years ago. no updates. Porches needed cleaning and awing did not work with remote. had to use manual rod.TV was a nightmare to work with. Internet boxes in wall outlets were very loose in wall so lost internet multiple times.Kitchen was clean , dishwasher had a bad smell.Overall we enjoy the water view and quiet area.

Niece’s Oyster Roast

This VRBO is on neighboring land with my niece’s lovely Carters Creek cottage where their annual family oyster roast was scheduled on November 9, 2024. My husband and I and our 2 adult daughters and their husband’s were eager to join the fun, but we didn’t want to find lodging miles away on winding dark roads. Our group came from NC and Colorado and we sought simple comfort together, so renting this VRBO was a magical solution!

Everything about out stay was wonderful! The weather was just right, the views of the creek, the dock for fishing and crabbing, access for kayaking, all of it. We enjoyed our meals on the deck overlooking the deck. This was the perfect weekend getaway!

Great house!

The house was great with fantastic views of the creek from the kitchen and family room. It had been cleaned really well and even came with some supplies that I hadn't expected. The three kayaks it came with were a really nice addition. My girls loved using them and felt very safe in the cove. Also- the best selection of books in a rental house I've ever seen! We would stay again.

Beautiful, quiet spot on the River

Lovely home on the water in Carter Cove. We played on the kayaks and enjoyed watching wildlife - deer, heron, osprey and friendly geese. Afternoons/evenings were enjoyed on the spacious deck with a fabulous water view. Close to Irvington and Kilmarnock. Great place to vacation with the grandkids!

Perfect place for a couple of older couples

Our host was wonderful with communication and gave us great tips on local restaurants and attractions. Everything we needed was provided and well thought out. Beds slept well...i especially liked that the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house. The only down side was it was a bit of a drive to get anything and being at the end of the cove made the water murky and uninviting. The hubbies enjoyed the kayaks and if it was not for the murky water and little crabs us ladies would have too. We loved the shops and restaurants in the small towns nearby.

Relaxing at the River

What a beautiful house in a spectacular location! Despite the chills of early Spring, we could not ask for a better place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Northern Neck (aka “God’s Country”).
