Hi there! I was born and raised in South Florida and that there is where I still reside with my wife and 3 children. Living down here in paradise where it’s always summer is great, but when we go on vacation we like to head up to the mountains for a change of scenery. We like Maggie Valley, NC because you get you experience all the seasons. Our goal is to visit our home 4 times a year, one visit for each season. There is so much to do and see no matter what season it is.
We have put a lot of work into our house in order to make it feel like your own home away from home. During your stay with us, we hope enjoy all the amenities that the home as to offer. We have one rule– take a deep breath, breathe in the clean mountain air, relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you.
*** UPDATE *** We moved from South Florida to Charlotte, NC in 2016. We fell in love with the mountains and wanted to be closer to the house. Now we are less than a 3 hour drive away and can take advantage of going to the house a lot more. North Carolina gives us a taste of all 4 seasons vs. Florida where its summer all year long.

We love our home because you truly feel like you are in a tree house and away from it all but still close to everything. The location of the hot tub is great because you are surrounded by trees and can look up to see the stars. We also enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs and eating our meals on the covered deck. The hot tub is another one of our favorite things about this home because it helps us to unwind and provides ultimate relaxation. The location of the home is perfect because we are very close to great restaurants, shopping, and streams and can go hiking in our own back yard.
You will have access to the hot tub on the outdoor deck. The house includes a gas grill and covered patio which is great for barbecues. The fully furnished kitchen includes everything you need to make a delicious meal. There is also access to toys, games, books, cable television and high speed WiFi internet for your entertainment needs.
We have frequent interaction with our guests through email and phone. We respond to emails very quickly as messages are sent right to our phones. We are also very good about picking up our phones and returning phone calls in a timely manner. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions once you arrive to our home. We will be more than happy to assist you in order to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
This mountain getaway was absolutely perfect. The cool mountain air felt so great on the screened-in porch. It was late May and we even used the gas fireplace for a while. This place has all the comforts of home and is located in a beautiful setting with lots of hiking and other activities nearby. There's a binder on the coffee table that was very helpful to us when planning our day out. But the place itself is nice enough to just stay in! The home is well built and VERY clean. If you like a quiet mountain getaway, I highly recommend staying here.
The Fernbrook Treehouse was perfect for our 37th anniversary weekend. Clean, cozy and comfortable, we had everything we could possibly have needed. We visited the Biltmore, explored Asheville (breakfast at Biscuit Head is a must!) and just enjoyed the beauty of the mountains. The treehouse was a quiet and relaxing place to return after our day trips. We made good use of the screened in porch, hot tub and fire pit in the evenings. The owners have really thought of everything. The rental was easy and the owner very welcoming and responsive.
We had a great time at this little cabin despite the frigid temps! The cabin is stocked well and is in a great location with great views!
We intended to do a few days of snowboarding but with daily highs in the teens, we only went one time. We enjoyed visiting nearby Soco Falls which were frozen! We went to Gatlinburg one day to so some indoor activities due to the cold. The road that goes thru the Smoky Mountian National Park into Gatlinburg was closed (due to ice) so we had to take I-40 to get there which was an unexpected beautiful drive thru the mountains. We also enjoyed Tube World one day which was a lot of fun but crowded.
We cooked most of our meals but ventured out for lunch once in Waynesville and had the best burgers at Church Street Depot--legit the best burger I've ever tasted! The Ingles that's 15 mins from the house is really nice and has a great beer selection. The Chick-Fil-A in front of Ingles is also great, as they always are.
At the end of our stay, we absolutely didn't want to leave. Such a cute and cozy little cabin!! We would definitely love to come back in the summer time since we love the SMNP so much :) The proximity to the BRP is great as well, even though it was closed due to icy roads. Great area if you love the outdoors!!
When we arrived to Fernbrook Treehouse in the evening, it was in the teens and several inches of snow was still on the ground. It was a beautiful winter wonderland driving up the snow covered mountain to get to the cottage. We were glad we took our four wheel drive vehicle though!
The house was nice and warm on arrival. Fully equipped kitchen. And that view in the winter is gorgeous. Especially at night, seeing the twinkling lights of the houses on the mountains blend with the stars in the sky. Its magical.
My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub. Our daughter loved having the loft to herself. They even had a few toys and books for her to play with. We all felt right at home.
A family of 3 can easily spread out with room to spare. Well appointed and nice layout.
They had walking sticks in the house which was nice to use to hike around the property. There is a neat outdoor fire pit area to do a bonfire. S'mores!
The house is only a 15 minute drive to Soco Falls. A nice spot to pull off of Blue Ridge parkway and see a nice waterfall without doing much walking. So pretty!
Maggie Valley is a quaint area--a few nice restaurants and shops. We spent 3 hours at the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum. Definitely a must do. My husband could have spent all week in there!
MV is only a 15 or so minute drive to Waynesville, which has a small city feel with a charming downtown area. Nice shopping and restaurants downtown. If you take a trip in December be sure to see what Saturday they have their Christmas celebration. Carolers, horse drawn carriage rides, apple cider stations, live nativity center=Hallmark movie. Also, Bogart's restaurant was a good spot, good food and atmosphere.
This house is in a GREAT location, clean, and comfortable. We fell in love with the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area and this home. Thank you Brandon for a job well done and opening up your home!
The Fernbrook Treehouse was just as advertised. It was immaculate and stocked with everything that you could want for an extended stay. We just loved it. The fire place, the fire pit, the hot tub all created a feeling of warmth (figuratively and literally), and enhanced the total mountain experience. If you have ever been to summer camp you know what it is like to sit around the campfire, and the fire pit brought that feeling back. Roasting marsh mellows and listening to music was a fabulous way to end terrific days.
The owners were fantastic to work with, and very responsive to all emails and phone calls, which is certainly very unusual in today's world. Nothing was too small to ask. It was not like they took your money and the rest was up to you to figure out.
Their communication was outstanding, and no detail of information regarding your stay was left to chance.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to get back to Maggie Valley. We have been going to Maggie Valley for eight years, and this has been by far the best experience that we have had. Even the dog felt like he was home.
The property was everything as promised! Beautiful home and location. Less than 45 minute drive to Smokey Mountain National Park. Short drive to jump on Blueridge Parkway which I highly recommend--beautiful sights of the Smokies! Hot tub was enjoyable and beautiful area for fire ring. Highly recommend Fernbrook Treehouse!
Really enjoyed our time. We would recommend it.
