The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils and small appliances- everything you need to prepare a wonderful meal. The home has a gas log fireplace in the living room which takes just a push of a button to start. This is a great place to relax, read a good book or make smores’ with the kids. About Brandon Jones

Hi there! I was born and raised in South Florida and that there is where I still reside with my wife and 3 children. Living down here in paradise where it’s always summer is great, but when we go on vacation we like to head up to the mountains for a change of scenery. We like Maggie Valley, NC because you get you experience all the seasons. Our goal is to visit our home 4 times a year, one visit for each season. There is so much to do and see no matter what season it is.

We have put a lot of work into our house in order to make it feel like your own home away from home. During your stay with us, we hope enjoy all the amenities that the home as to offer. We have one rule– take a deep breath, breathe in the clean mountain air, relax and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds you.

*** UPDATE *** We moved from South Florida to Charlotte, NC in 2016. We fell in love with the mountains and wanted to be closer to the house. Now we are less than a 3 hour drive away and can take advantage of going to the house a lot more. North Carolina gives us a taste of all 4 seasons vs. Florida where its summer all year long.

Why Brandon Jones chose Smoky Mountains

We love our home because you truly feel like you are in a tree house and away from it all but still close to everything. The location of the hot tub is great because you are surrounded by trees and can look up to see the stars. We also enjoy sitting in the rocking chairs and eating our meals on the covered deck. The hot tub is another one of our favorite things about this home because it helps us to unwind and provides ultimate relaxation. The location of the home is perfect because we are very close to great restaurants, shopping, and streams and can go hiking in our own back yard.

What makes this house unique

You will have access to the hot tub on the outdoor deck. The house includes a gas grill and covered patio which is great for barbecues. The fully furnished kitchen includes everything you need to make a delicious meal. There is also access to toys, games, books, cable television and high speed WiFi internet for your entertainment needs.

We have frequent interaction with our guests through email and phone. We respond to emails very quickly as messages are sent right to our phones. We are also very good about picking up our phones and returning phone calls in a timely manner. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions once you arrive to our home. We will be more than happy to assist you in order to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This mountain getaway was absolutely perfect. The cool mountain air felt so great on the screened-in porch. It was late May and we even used the gas fireplace for a while. This place has all the comforts of home and is located in a beautiful setting with lots of hiking and other activities nearby. There's a binder on the coffee table that was very helpful to us when planning our day out. But the place itself is nice enough to just stay in! The home is well built and VERY clean. If you like a quiet mountain getaway, I highly recommend staying here.

Great Rental!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay in this wonderful cabin for several days! I actually found it online about lunch time, immediately packed and drove 5 hours to this beautiful cabin. Brandon was very easy to deal with, especially with a last minute, same day reservation. The cabin is even better then the pictures. Cozy enough for two, or big enough for a family, this cabin had everything that we needed. The kitchen is very well stocked, the bed and linens were very comfortable, and the living room was very cozy. The screened in porch was wonderful to enjoy my morning coffee and late night relaxation. The Jacuzzi was a wonderful bonus for relaxing after a busy day roaming the near by towns for shopping. The housekeeper for the owners does a wonderful job. The cabin was exceptionally clean and ready and waiting for us. The drive from the main road to the cabin doesn't take long and was a fairly easy climb. We actually arrived at dark and it was easy to find. The location was wonderful. We spent a day in the Waynesville and Maggie area and a day in the Hendersonville and Asheville area. My husband and I visit the mountains several times a year and this will be our "go to" cabin from now on. I can't say enough great things about how much we loved this cabin. Thanks, Brandon for sharing this wonderful cabin that felt like home away from home!

This is the first time we have used VRBO so we weren't sure if the property would be what was portrayed on the website. We found the house was just like the photos of it. The house was clean and comfortably furnished. The screened porch with the rocking chairs was wonderful! The setting was peaceful and quiet. It really was like being in a treehouse!! We loved our stay in this sweet mountain cabin!

Beautiful house!

  • 4 of 5

I loved this house! It was just the perfect size for myself, my spouse, and niece and nephew. We all had our own space, with my 8 year old sleeping in the loft area. Very cozy! Up to date appliances, and the hot tub was a bonus that everyone enjoyed! The driveway is extremely steep, so be aware that you WILL NEED a 4 wheel drive, or all wheel drive vehicle to get to the house that is near the top of the mountain. It took us about 2-4 minutes to get to the house, once we started up the steep incline off of the main road that runs through Maggie Valley, and I used the automatic hill decent breaking system on my 4 wheel drive to get us safely off of the mountain every day. Once at the house, it was nice and quiet. The beds were comfortable for us, and the house was clean and cozy. We came up for the weekend to go snow tubbing at "Tony's Tube World," which was a 5-10 minute drive from the house (depending on how fast you go down the mountain), and it was also close to Cherokee (which we took a day to explore), and a short 30-40 minute drive to Asheville. I will definately stay here again, if I return to the Maggie Valley area! Great place!

Owner's Response: I am glad you loved the house and all the amenities...I do my best to make it feel like home. Just to clarify a 4WD or AWD vehicle is ONLY needed during the winter months in the event of ice or snow. If there is no ice or snow ANY vehicle can make up and down the mountain. I have personally driven my wife's Honda Odyssey minivan as well as a variety of rental cars including a Hyundai Elantra, Kia Optima, Ford Explorer and even a Mustang once- all vehicles make it up and down just fine. Thanks for your feedback and staying at Fernbrook Treehouse!
