About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Nestled between the Cape Meares Lake and the Pacific Ocean lies the Heron's Nest. With enticing ocean views and beach access just two blocks away, this family and dog-friendly (with an additional fee) contemporary home has everything you need for your ideal beach vacation.

Cape Meares is a tranquil community with no services but plenty of natural wonders to keep you entertained: From the long stretch of sandy beaches, the bay for clamming and fishing to the historic lighthouse for hiking and wildlife viewing. Cape Meares is also a short drive from Tillamook for quaint restaurants, grocery stores, museums and more!

There is electric forced air heat that keeps you warm on chilly nights, and a nice wood fireplace for warmth as well. There are a wide array of board and card games as well as books to keep the whole family entertained. The home also includes a 32" HDTV with a DVD BlueRay player, as well as a few DVDs for movie watching. There is also WiFi access for your convenience.

As you enter the spacious great room, you are greeted by a window wall of wonderful ocean views that stretch from one end of the room to the other. The oversized leather couches face the ocean and even recline to offer the maximum amount of relaxation and comfort.

A well-appointed open kitchen, dishwasher, and expandable dining table that seats 6 and expands to 12 makes cooking family meals an enjoyable experience. There are eight extra chairs and a folding table as well that could be used for ocean view meals on the wrap-around deck outside.

This two-level home has two bedrooms; the first is on the ground floor with a comfy queen bed and sliding door access to the open backyard, which backs to a lawn and the forest -- great for views of Cape Meares Lake and wildlife, and for enjoying the outdoor fire pit. There is a full bathroom with a washer and dryer on the ground floor as well. The second room upstairs includes another queen bed with plush bedding and a set of bunk beds. The second full bathroom is on the upper floor as well.

In addition, the garage is host to a plethora of outdoor toys. From sand pails to a clam gun and a canoe (transportation of canoe not provided), you'll have plenty to do down at the beach and lake. You can even use the tide clock in the living room to find the best time to check out the tide pools and caves in the nearby cove!

Book a stay at this Cape Meares vacation rental for a beach vacation rich in natural wonders!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Nice and Quiet

 • 4 of 5

We needed a weekend away, and brought our two kids. The house was nice and quiet, and make sure you bring a baby gate if you are a parent of small children. It's not the owners responsibility, but parents should always be prepared. Overall, nice house with good amenities and nice view.

The property was great.

 • 4 of 5

Had a great time. House was clean and very cozy. The only downfall is there were additional guests on the kitchen counters . . . sugar ants. Loved the view from the deck. The house in front blocks a little bit, but you can still see a great view.

Would definitely stay again. Thanks for letting my family into your home.

What a delightful home!

 • 4 of 5

We stayed 5 nights here, and found the accommodations quite satisfying. Athough we had an issue operating the upstairs shower, the Vacasa rental folks were very responsive and able to handle the situation quickly. I think it might be helpful for them to add a note in the bathroom about operation of the shower, as it is not that intuitive. There are little notes throughout the house about how to use or tend to different things, and those were appreciated.

Small issue - maybe a new bed/mattress in the upstairs bedroom. It is so soft, and we found ourselves always rolling to the center. Also, replace sheets. The elastic is gone and the fitted sheet doesn't stay put.

During our stay we enjoyed the short walk to the beach access area. It feels very secluded and private, and there were few other people wandering around down there. And the neighbors were friendly but not intrusive. The neighborhood is well-kept and feels safe and comfortable to be walking in.

There was just enough to do. We took a fishing charter out of Garibaldi, visited the lighthouse, toured Tillamook Cheese Factory, and hiked out to Munson Falls, among many other excursions. Havng a cozy home with a functional fireplace to return home to each afternoon was a blessing! We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.
