Good location

Easy walk to the beach. Nice view from the kitchen. Would recommend bringing your own pots and pans or lots of oil because the ones available are pretty scratched up and everything sticks.

Once you climb the stairs, the living area is cozy and inviting. Outstanding ocean views from there, and from the upper deck.

location, views make this house fantastic. however, lots of improvements could be made with actual livability. beds need to be replaced, master bed frame broken. dishes to cook with are limited, example of no available frying pan that does not have flaked coatings. dishwasher was broken. heat barely worked, it was 'on' for over a day to move from 63 deg to 70. would have been nice to have a small hatchet to build fire as it was quite cold.

Perfect family home!

It’s a great place to stay, right on the beach. The location and view simply can’t be beat! Take note of the other reviews - yes there are stairs, yes there are a few carpet stains, bring your own kitchen extras. But if you’re looking for a great dog-friendly place right on the beach, this is it!

Keep expectations low

I have stayed here several times. If you are okay with the occasional broken item or well-worn atmosphere, you’ll be very happy. It’s so close to the beach and the view is wonderful. If you require 4-5 star hotel amenities then you’ll be disappointed. Perfect for low maintenance people.

Great views

The views are fantastic. We wanted a place that we could drink coffee and watch the waves and this place delivered. Like many beach houses it’s dated, but the couches are comfortable and the kitchen had enough for us to cook simple meals. It was clean and the fireplace was nice on a stormy night. The beach entrance is about 1 block away and great for rock hounding and walking. Our main complaint would be the beds. The master only has a queen which wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so uncomfortable! Needs to be replaced.

A Birthday Beach Trip

We loved the ocean views!! With that said, We didn't like how filthy the carpet was. There were large stains through out. If this was my home, I would be embarrased for anyone to see the condition of the carpet, let alone rent it out in this condition. With the carpet in this condition, it made us feel that the whole house wasn't clean. The carpet needs to be replaced.....

HOUSE NEEDS SOME WORK

IT WAS GOOD, BUT...THE PATIO DOOR IN THE MASTER BEDROOM LEAKED ALL OVER THE FLOOR, THE CARPET WAS SOAKED. THE KITCHEN WINDOW ALSO LEAKED. THE CARPETS WERE ALL STAINED AND LOOKED DIRTY. COULD USE SOME TLC BUT REALLY NOT TERRIBLE. I WILL CHOOSE ANOTHER HOUSE NEXT TIME BUT STILL USE VACASA THEY ARE GOOD TO WORK WITH.

Great location and setup

The location of this house is wonderful. Living spaces on upper floors presented well, and view from the deck is fantastic. Our small group were very happy using the location as a base to move about Oceanside. Some things that need attention; Carpeting on stairs and bedroom areas needs replacing. Understanding the house is pet friendly, but the carpeting imakes your first impression very disappointing. Painting outside is needed, and some refreshing inside would really benefit things. With a little attention and some elbow grease, this place could be a gem! Having stayed already, and being very happy with the layout., we'd stay again, but be a bit hesitant to recommend to others.

Girls getaway

This home had stellar views and was a great place for a girlfriends’ getaway. Two flights of stairs were hard on these 3 older ladies. Home is older and in need of updates. Floors were stained, toilet runs, remote for tv didn’t work, shower doors falling off the track. Bring your own storage bags and blow dryer. But plenty of beds and room for all of us. Not sure if I would stay here again, especially with my toddler grandchildren because of stairs and ladder to loft in the middle of the room. But a family of teenagers looking for time on the beach and peace and quiet should enjoy the space.

Great location/Poor amenities

This house is in a wonderful location with beautiful views. However it's poorly equipped for an enjoyable stay. The microwave oven doesn't work. The range hood doesn't work. The house is supposed to have up to 8 guests yet has only 5 coffee mugs. Other than beds there is no furniture in the bedrooms, so no place to store clothes,. And so on.

Great location, but house needs deep cleaning.

The location is amazing - just a few feet to beach access. Very convenient especially with kids. The kids love the bunkbeds and loft. We have enjoyed coming to this house over the past few years, however, it is in need of a deep cleaning and updates. The carpeting especially is full of stains, smells, and shows lots of wear. The blinds in the living room are broken, and the windows need cleaning. The light switch in the master bedroom does not work. The kitchen is minimally appointed. Many dishes are chipped, and pots and pans are greasy, wobbly and worn.

The inside of the house was completely soiled by pet pee. Sent pictures to Vacasa of the half dozen largest spots. Shared with the “area manager” the pictures and the best they had to respond with was “Im sorry” and “the property is slated for remodel and will be unavailable for two months”. I had to personally clean the carpets prior to my parents arriving with a steam cleaner. It was a slap in the face to have clean my own rental with my own time and materials and then turn around and pay a “cleaning fee”. Additionally, cabinet doors were missing. Entire cabinets were missing. I have stayed at this house multiple times, this was by far the worst. Do better Vacasa, if your renters must clean their own rental and there is pictures to back up the claims, you need to do better then just provide an apology.

Great dog friendly beach house

Location is everything and this house is right next to the public access to the magical oceanside Beach. The locks didn't work, but vacasa got someone over within 10 minutes to assess the issue, he got us in and changed the locks the next day. Great customer service for that snafu! Once we got inside the house it was very bright and had great views 👌 The shower right inside the door kept the sand downstairs, that was awesome. There were enough extra blankets to add to the thin bedspreads that we were all warm enough. The kitchen was beautiful and stocked juuuust enough. Byo foil, baggies etc. We just loved the deck off the kitchen and the afternoon sunshine. Perhaps time to replace the carpets, but otherwise a great house!

Like Your Family Friends Beach house

So the reviews are accurate: This place is great for the views and beach access less than two blocks away. Pros: Sharp knives in the kitchen rare in a rental. However it's missing that inviting we have everything to make vacation mode easy things you often find other places: no hairdryer, minimal kitchen goods, and no games or other general things in the house. It's missing those basic things like a few throw blankets in the main space to cozy up with as the weather gets colder, board games or puzzles things to do that aren't internet/tv based which is so common in other rentals I didn't think to pack them. It definitely has vibes of a family place built in the 90's that has not been improved other when things break. As others have noted the carpet has many stains, but the place is also pet friendly and I'm sure has lots of family use so I get it but should be on high priority for replacement as it does make such a poor impression.

Great location and space that could use a little love

We love this property and Oceanside! It's a spacious home with a wonderful open plan kitchen/living/dining and very cool loft space my kids love. We've been to this property a couple of times and this time found a few things that did not work. Specifically, the dishwasher had standing water in it when we arrived, so we chose to hand wash dishes as we feared it may overflow. The DVD player did not work. Finally, new deck boards were down on both decks, but they were not attached. This didn't really bug us but could be a safety issue for some (thinking about little kids). We truly love this property and will likely be back, it would be great if the dishwasher and DVD player were working then (oh, and the bed in the en suite is very, very noisy - my husband wedged some Uno cards we found between the frames that helped but said a couple screws were missing.)

Disgusting Inside, Amazing Location and Views

I will reiterate a lot of the other reviews because it is clear the owners don't address or fix any of the issues communicated with them. I got a text when I first arrived asking if I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the home which I responded that I was not at all satisfied and the response to that was "Great, Hope you enjoy your stay" The carpets upstairs are covered in pee stains from animals and we had to get carpet cleaner and clean the whole upstairs just to feel somewhat comfortable spending time up there. Despite multiple reviews noting damaged items the DVD player, dryer, and shower door are all still broken. The shower door will fall off and I am surprised that no one has been hurt by it yet. On the positive side, the location is amazing and the views are great. It does seem like they have added some kitchen supplies so we were able to prepare meals just fine. I would search long and hard for an alternative before booking this home.

Lovely place for an extended family Christmas

The house is large and a wonderful space for family celebrations and coming together. Views are amazing and the beach a quick walk away...and worth every step. Four instead of 5 stars because of deferred maintenance issues that dated the house and required some quick thinking on our part. It was certainly worth it though, and gave us all lovely memories.

A great family setup

The spacious great room / kitchen setup meant we could all spend time together and share ocean or sunset views. The kids made the most of the loft! The easy walk to the beach made dashing out for quick walks between squalls easy. If my kids were smaller the stairs and loft ladder would have been a challenge. Definitely a family friendly home - for bigger kids.
