Dated and Dirty

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is obviously dated, which is fine, but upon check-in it was filthy. The floors were caked with crumbs, there was a sticky substance on the kitchen counters and the couch had popcorn all over it. Spent the whole first night cleaning :( But the location was great and the little boat was fun

Great location, lovely spot

The place had everything we needed, plus fun touches we didn’t expect. Beds were comfortable, the bar area added nice atmosphere, the outdoor shower was great, and the array of board games was fun. Would stay again.

The perfect house for a small family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was better than I expected it to be. The house was clean upon arrival. There were plenty of kitchen items to use for cooking. The outside area was wonderful. There was already some beach toys at the house and towels. Under the house in the carport area was a awesome hangout area with a little bar and full size fridge. We LOVED IT ! The only thing I would ask to be updated would be to have curtians on the windows in the bedrooms due to it getting really bright in the room really really early in the mornings. Also the mattress seems to have a little wear to them and seem to roll to the middle. I am not a super picky person, so these things I am listing to be updated are just an idea. We really enjoyed this house and it was better than the pictures listed ! The community also has a really nice pool and beach area on the sound to swim in that was great for the kiddos and myself . The water was WARM ! It was Awesome !

Wonderful home on the bay

Colington Harbor House (CH101)

The house was good sized for our family of 5. It needs some maintenance on the ceilings, and doors (front and sliding glass rear). It could use some updates on the dishwasher, countertops and bathrooms. The furniture is older, but usable. The cabinets are so full of pots, pans, plates, bowls, glassware and other items that there is no room for groceries. The great things about the rental are it's location on the sound, kayaks, beach stuff we could use, a nice gas grill. great out seating area on the deck, a nice community pool and park at the sound. Yes we had to drive to the pool, park and beach areas, but not a huge factor. I think this is a 3-4 star house in a 5 star location. My family enjoyed our time there, but if you are looking for a 5 star house with all the updates of a new house this is not it. If you want a livable, relaxing vacation with lots of options on how to spend your days, then this would work well for you.

A nice quiet vacation.

We loved our stay in Colington. It was the perfect little getaway. Everything was close to visit, but off t he beaten path enough to be quiet and restful. There was a little sound side beach with a playground that our daughter loved. The pool was great. We were about 5-10 minutes from the oceanfront. There were shops and restaurants galore. We had a great time and we will return.

We love it. However its pretty bad when you only have one place to sit to watch a movie. The love seat is AWFUL!!! The home is also not as clean as it has been in the past. Better than last year, hut not as clean a prior years.

Family Vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay! The view from the deck was so peaceful, the pool was wonderful and the private beach with playground was PERFECT for my young daughter. We would absolutely stay here again!

Cute little house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time here. The house is cozy and has enough room to accommodate our party of 6. Upon arriving the house looked like it hadn't been touched in a while everything was VERY dusty. Having 2 bathrooms was amazing! Since one was always in use! I was so glad there were kayaks we could use. Not only was it amazing to go to the open ocean and watch the sun set but I also got engaged while on the kayaks! We did not hang out in the tiki bar outdoor shower or screened in porch because the areas were dirty and ran down. There were speakers that didn't work a table that was broken and the sliding glas door needed fixed to use properly. Overall we had a great time just wished the maintenance of the house was kept up a little better.

Nice area

Overall we had a lovely stay with our family. We liked the area and use of the kayaks and grill. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. When we got there the house was not cleaned very well. We had to call and have another cleaning crew come to the house. We understand that everyone is short staffed at this point but what help you do have needs to be trained better. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Great location, comfortable house, needs some deep cleaning

We enjoyed our stay in the house. The rooms were good size and comfortable. The living room couch was quite uncomfortable but the outside terrace was beautiful and nice hanging out there. Good outdoor shower. We were not able to use the kayaks because the cords to pull one of them in and out of the water was broken and there’s no launching board. The house definitely needs a deep cleaning. The bathrooms were not very clean from the day we arrived. Kitchen supplies some really dirty, and cushions around the house had a funky smell. Other than that the location is very nice, the view to the sound is amazing, really calm and relaxing. The community pool was nice to have and we were able to jump from the pool to the small beach they have right next.

This year the house was extremely dirty. The toilets looked like they have not been cleaned in weeks. The refrigerator was gross. the trash can was disgusting and the house smelled like dogs. We love this property and we love staying in this community. This year stay was great how every the cleanliness of the the home was disappointing.

Saved the Day

Due to crazy circumstances had to wait to book at the last minute. This had the exact bed configuration we needed at a great price. This property was perfectly adequate. The futon couch is totally uncomfortable to sit on and the beds could use replacing.. Need some more kitchen towels and a drain board would be really nice. I was worried about my allergies because I’m very sensitive to mold and mildew. However this wasn’t a problem for me despite noticeable areas showing water damage. Loved the ease of the gas barbecue and enjoyed using the kayak so really appreciate their availability. Used the community amenities (basketball, tennis, pool, park) which kept everyone busy. Found great vegan food but the long Drive was a factor in how we planned our days. The weather was perfect! Thank you for making summer a reality for us this very challenging year.

Too far from the beach for our liking. Only real downside was when I went to the pool. Woman working there did not belyi was a guest and I was treated very poorly. No one even said hello nor smiled at me the whole time I was there. Will not rent in Colington again because of that.
