'Chez ZigZag' is an upstairs apartment that is accessed from 204 S Oak St. (W. 2nd Street stops at S. Oak - so you have to turn left onto Oak) It's only three blocks from the ferry to Victoria. There is a delightful view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca , Victoria, B.C., Mt. Baker and assorted ocean going vessels. The activity of the harbor is always changing. Over 60 different types of boats and ships can be seen regularly.

Our name is derived from the locally named ‘zigzag’ walkway that connects our street to the downtown area. Chez ZigZag is within easy walking distance of: downtown (1 block), a Safeway store with a Starbucks (2 blocks), the Coho Ferry (3 blocks) and Hollywood Beach/ Discovery Trail head (4 blocks) along with an enjoyable variety of restaurants.

Our one-of-a-kind, outdoor fireplace is ready for action. Ample wood is stacked nearby. Each evening the wood is set and ready for you to light a relaxing outdoor fire. Nothing beats watching the activity on the harbor in front of a roaring fire or enjoying an evening drink or meal.

About Amy or Brent Powell

We are both Brokers with Coldwell Banker Uptown Realty in Port Angeles. Brent is regular cyclist and Amy is an accomplished watercolor artist. We are also retired Registered Dental Hygienists amidst a few other careers.

Living here has been a distinct blessing and we look forward to sharing it with our guests. After living all over the USA, we've decided this is the best place of all. We love the natural beauty of the surroundings and the friendly people. What could be better?

We sort of stumbled into a vacation rental. The home we purchased came with a separate apartment upstairs. Our renters moved out and we spent the next 4 months totally remodeling the apartment.

We are excited to offer it to visitors to our area. If we came to Port Angeles looking for a vacation rental, this is the one we would pick. It is now luxurious, and centrally located with easy access to just about everything. Chez Zig Zag provides a peaceful retreat that can't be beat. Come see. You will not be disappointed!

What makes this apartment unique

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. How can any thing compare to watching the harbor and shipping lane activity. A short walk to down town brings a variety of excellent dining and other shopping opportunities.

Besides that CZZ has all the amenities you would want if you were to live here full time. Nothing beats sipping your morning coffee and watching the sun rise over Mt. Baker - or barbecuing a fresh salmon on the front patio. Enjoying a roaring fire in the outside front fireplace is a memorable conclusion to viewing all the natural wonders The North Olympic Peninsula has to offer.

Awesome Stay!

The unit is just as it looks, fabulous! There was a full coffee drawer and the outside real wood fireplace was stocked and ready to go. Fantastic location to walk to town and organic grocery store. Brent and Amy were super accommodating and even provided us a flashlight for our late night walk to dinner. We really appreciated the heated bathroom floor, leather furniture, fresh decor and view!!! Attention to Detail and Amazing View

I can’t imagine a better place to stay for a visit to the Olympic Peninsula. The view was amazing. Perfect place to watch the harbor activities. The accommodations were comfortable and well supplied. It seemed every detail had been thought about.

Excellent View, Friendly Owners

Excellent view of Port Angeles. Fenced in backyard was already set up for a fire, and very easy to light. Sat on the patio with the owners out back and had a nice 90 minutes or so relaxing conversation. Port Angeles is a nice little town, wish we'd spent more than a day there. This is a good house to relax in for a couple days.

An Extended Weekend....

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Chez ZigZag. The location was near the downtown area via a short walk, and in the opposite direction a short walk to Safeway. From this location we visited Victoria, Hurricane Ridge and Lake Cresent in the Olympic Nat;l Forest. Chez Zigzag offered a comfortable home-like setting. We recommend it and would stay again. Wonderful top floor and wonderful people!

Loved the decor and views. A fully renovated top floor of the home with private entrance. Even accommodated us on a last minute stay later in our trip. SOOO ease to work with. Great Patio, berry bushes, and chickens. Loved everything about our stay!!! Cannot say enough good things about our hosts and accommodations!

Port Angeles is the home of many seasonal celebrations and Festivals from the Crab Fest in October to the Juan De Fuca Music Festival in the Spring. Live theater is also available periodically in both Port Angeles and Sequim. There is no end to both winter and Summer activities In the Olympic Mountains and National Park. Whale watching tours, salmon and Halibut fishing in the Strait round out this incredible area which is a destination vacation area worldwide. You certainly owe it to yourself to visit the North Olympic Peninsula at least once in your life time. There is no place on earth quite like it.
