Paradise in Portland!

  • 5 of 5

We feel so lucky to say we have stayed at this property three times since our son began college at Lewis and Clark. It is gorgeous--the landscaping exquisite, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better view of the Willamette than the one here! Sara is flexible, helpful, but also gives you space. We've stayed in both rooms on the property and they are incredibly comfortable. Also great is the proximity to Portland, and specifically, one of the best neighborhoods in Portland, Sellwood-Moreland. Sellwood is charming, packed with cool cafes, bars and restaurants and some great grocery stores, too. Only minutes from the property, you'll find it easy to check out the city, but you'll enjoy returning to this urban oasis!

Piece of heaven in the middle of the city!

  • 5 of 5

I had such a wonderful 2 night getaway courtesy of my hubby! The accommodations were comfortable and quaint and the view, absolutely breathtaking. If felt like my own personal estate. Relaxing in the hot tub and watching the birds fly around and people paddle boarding and canoeing was so peaceful.

Not as advertised-can't change description from "I loved it" to "Not really"

  • 3 of 5

Parking was terrible! Had to back up a hill onto a street.

Think in terms of a 50's lake cottage.

Needs deep-cleaned (toaster, coffee pot, refrigerator handles, doors to bathroom, tub under faucet, carpets) I cleaned the filter in the air filter machine (I have pictures), the fan blowing over the bed was full of dust.

Hot tub is not hot. Called owner and she said no one wanted it hot. 72 degrees is not a hot tub. Said to turn it up, but it never heated. Had no chlorine in it, and the bottle of chlorine tablets was full of water (?) and not usable.

Note says to keep blinds closed for sun as the airconditioner can't keep up with it. We rented this for the view, not to close it up dark and sit in a cave.

Grass was full of duck poop. Called and complained upon arrival thinking it was dog, but guess you can't fight nature.

Bed was comfortable, nicely decorated.

Owner's Response: Dear Barb, I’m sorry I had no idea you had so many concerns. I encourage guests to text me with any concerns they may have or if they need anything. It sounds as though you may have misunderstood a few things. The hot tub was cool because we had a heat wave with temperatures in the high 90’s and no-one wanted a hot hot tub, they asked for it to be cool as that is much more refreshing on a scalding hot day. It is also not sanitized with chlorine, but with bromine. The A/C works fantastic, and the only time it is helpful to keep blinds closed is for a couple of hours in the late afternoon when the sun beats on the west-facing windows. It’s just a suggestion, it’s only for a few hours on a very hot day, and it is meant for your ultimate comfort, not to take away from the view. The carpet was recently shampooed. The air machine filter gets changed - sorry you cleaned it! As far as cleaning under door handles and under faucets - we are on it, thank you. Glad you thought the bed was comfortable and that you liked the décor.

Absolutely wonderful!!

  • 5 of 5

We travel a lot and this is one of the best places we have stayed! Beautiful grounds, quiet, peaceful. The room had everything we needed and was wonderful! Sara was so helpful if we had any questions and responded immediately. We read by the river, listening to the ducks and geese, chilled in the hammock, took out the kayaks! We will definitely be back! Stay here, I promise you won't be disappointed!
