Pet Policy:

• Maximum of 2 small to medium dogs only

Pool Details:

• Saltwater pool is open March 20 – October 31

• Optional pool heat: $70/day (non-refundable) available March 1 – April 30 and Sept 15 – Oct 31

• 3-day advance notice required for pool heat

• No refunds once the pool is heated

House very clean (even washed comforters/blankets!). Pool was lovely. Great porches. The road noise was a bit loud when out on the porches, though. (House on the main drag). Beach access convenient. “EV Charger” means a 240V outlet NEMA 14-50.

Thank you so much for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the cleanliness of the home, the pool, the spacious porches, and the convenient beach access. Our team works hard to provide a welcoming space, so we’re happy those details stood out. Regarding the road noise, that’s one of the realities of staying on a narrow barrier island. With the ocean on one side and the sound on the other, most homes are naturally located near one of the island’s main roads. The convenience is that you’re just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and local attractions. And thank you for mentioning the EV charger. For future guests, it is a NEMA 14-50 240V outlet, which is compatible with many electric vehicles when using the appropriate charging cable or adapter. We appreciate you staying with us and hope to welcome you back for another beach getaway!

This house is amazing!

This house is amazing! We really enjoyed it and can't wait to book it again. The layout is awesome. Plenty of space for a lot of people and you don't feel like you're on top of each other. I also loved that they have the little humans in mind. There's a gate at the top of the stairs and a high chair and pack and play which was so helpful for us since we traveled with my grandbabies. The pool, awesome! We had it heated and we spent every day in it. The beach access is just across the street. You can see it from the top decks. EV charger was an added bonus. My daughter drives an EV and this made things easy for her. The kitchen is fully stocked with big parties in mind. This was really awesome because a lot of times we stay places that claim the kitchen is stocked but they don't have enough dishes or pots and pans. This place does and you don't have to worry about it. Plenty of appliances too. Can't wait to go back!

Pet friendly yes but the yard was full of burs and rocks. Terrible for a dogThe fact that there was 2 garage doors but not a key pad to open them was terrible. Had to walk up a flight of stairs outside to go down a flight inside to bring all the beach stuff in. Not good a such a pain dailyThe AC was inconsistent and managed from owner was not ok with us

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify a few things for future guests. Sand spurs are unfortunately a natural part of our coastal environment here on Topsail Island. While we understand they can be uncomfortable for pets, they are common throughout the area, particularly in sandy landscapes. We always recommend that pet owners be mindful of their surroundings when walking their furry companions. Regarding the garage doors, we intentionally do not leave garage door remotes at our vacation rentals, as they are easily lost or misplaced with frequent guest turnover. The garage remains accessible through the home’s interior. While we understand this may require additional steps when transporting beach equipment, this arrangement helps prevent lost equipment and maintain property security. As for the air conditioning, the homeowner has every right to protect their HVAC system from damage caused by excessively low thermostat settings, which can result in the unit freezing up. The thermostat is maintained at a comfortable temperature designed to keep guests cool while ensuring the system operates properly. Remote management is simply a preventative measure to protect the equipment, not to compromise guest comfort. We appreciate your feedback and understand that every guest has different expectations. We strive to provide a comfortable, well-maintained vacation home while also protecting the property and its amenities for future guests.

Excellent House to stay in

Would highly recommend this house rental. Very spacious and updated. Everything was clean when we arrived. Pool is a great addition to the house! We had a group of 14 and had plenty of room, short walk to the beach. Made our visit to Topsail well worth it. Would stay here again for sure! Thank you for the great rental house!

Great place for family vacation!

We had a wonderful time at the Blue Beach Haven. The pool was awesome. I was a bit disappointed that the house wasn't on the beach, but it turned out, it was only a five minute walk to the beach. The house came stocked with linens, towels and beach towels. There was plenty of space for our family reunion and my 86 year old father was able to take an elevator to the living space. What could be changed:

Owner falsely accused us of breaking apparatus that removes hot tub cover . It was already broken and I texted her about it middle of the week. She did not respond to my text yet charges me 500 for damages . She said hot tub service person said it was fine when he serviced it I have no proof of our innocence but I reported this as I said via text mid week with no response. We did not break it. What should I do? Yard was unkempt and full of sand spurs and trash.

Our records show that the issue with the hot tub cover mechanism was not reported until the evening before your departure, not in the middle of your stay. The hot tub had been serviced by our regular technician immediately before your arrival, and the cover removal system was confirmed to be in proper working order at that time. After your departure, it was found to be damaged, which is why the damage claim was submitted. We understand you disagree with that determination, and VRBO provides a process for resolving disputes regarding damage claims. Regarding the yard, your stay occurred during the middle of summer, when rapid vegetation growth and frequent rainfall are common along the coast. While we make every effort to keep the property and grounds well maintained, weather can occasionally affect the timing of landscaping between scheduled service visits. We appreciate your feedback and remain committed to providing a great experience for all of our guests.

The perfect house for our family vacation.

The Blue Beach Haven was the perfect home for our multiple family vacation. We had plenty of space for everyone. The home was clean and in a great area that was conveniently located to everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked and all the extra's provided was a great addition. The elevator was an amazing addition to get groceries and luggage up the multiple level home. Even though were were one road off the beach, the beach access was so close and convenient. We spent many hours in the pool, which was a great addition. We would definitely book this house again, if we come back to the area.

Enough room for everyone!

The house was a perfect location with a short 5 min walk to the beach or 5-10 min drive to restaurants or shopping. The bigger grocery stores are across the short bridge, roughly 10-15 min drive but lovely shops along the way. The house provided enough space for our combined family of 10 without any feeling of crowding AT ALL. Beds were comfy, living room & dining had enough seating for everyone and the pool and patio were perfect with enough space for everyone. The outside shower was a must coming off the beach and the elevator was perfect for move in, move out and grocery haul! Oh and the office space near the bar was great and very useful! Definitely would stay here again!

Great fit for a variety of ages.

Positives were the pool area was very nice and also offered shade, the beach was an easy walk, and the layout of the house was great. It was well suited for ages 5-70. The elevator was good for my older mother, but it often got stuck on other floors and someone would have to go reopen and reclose the doors to get it to go again. The ice maker in the fridge didn't work. We notified the property manager but no one ever came to fix it or offer to bring ice, so we had to buy it all week. There also were some dirty glasses hanging in the bar area that managed to attract ants, so we had a small stream of ants for the week, even after washing the glasses. Other than those few things, we had a lovely time at the beach.

Melissa had documented that when you reached out during your stay, you mentioned the icemaker issue wasn’t a problem for you, so it wasn’t marked as a priority at that time. That said, it has since been repaired, and we truly appreciate your understanding. I’m also very sorry to hear about the dishes. Occasionally, a previous guest may put away items that weren’t thoroughly cleaned, and on a fast-paced Saturday turnover, our team doesn’t always have time to check every single dish individually. We rely on the assumption that if dishes are put away, they’ve been properly cleaned by the prior guest. We’ll remind our teams to stay extra vigilant moving forward.
