Overview

About the property

Barn/cabin, 1 Private Bedroom + 1 Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Be prepared for a breathtaking view of the upper Yellowstone river basin aptly named Paradise Valley! Completed in 2011, this second floor cabin is perfect for watching deer, antelope and coyotes move about on the nearby hills. It's easy to spot an eagle soaring as well as other raptors as they search for their dinner. Emigrant Peak is framed by the living room window where you can sit and relax after an adventurous day in nearby Yellowstone National Park. The cabin's theme is wildlife: moose, deer, bighorn sheep and bison adorn the walls and linens. The large private bedroom has a queen-size bed and huge closet and the living room couch easily folds out into a comfy queen size sleeper. The full kitchen and bath have everything you need to make your stay feel just like home. The cabin originally built as a barn never housed any animals; instead, the first floor is used as a library/office but only when there are no guests. Most guests enjoy the cozy feel of the cabin and extra special personal touches provided by these owners who will do everything possible to please their guests! You won't be disappointed.

Once you settle in, take a stroll a few feet away and dip your feet into 8 Mile Creek or set up a chair to take in the full beauty of the valley. A private, sheltered barbeque and outdoor dining area gives you views of the mountains surrounding the property where you can share memories of the day's events or enjoy the amazing night sky.

The biggest attraction, Yellowstone National Park is a beautiful 34-mile drive from the cabin. The drive follows the Yellowstone River and places you at Roosevelt Arch, the northwest entrance into Yellowstone National Park. While traveling, you will likely see more wildlife not to mention the majestic peaks of the Absaroka/Beartooth mountain range to the east and the Gallatin range to the west.

Within 5 miles of the cabin is Chico Hot Springs, which is a year-round resort with two hot springs pools, an exquisite dining room and a family friendly grille. At night, the Saloon hosts various local bands featuring a mixture of genre to satisfy your musical choice. Yellowstone River, a short mile away, boasts some of the best fishing for rainbow trout. Or, if you like, you can float the river either by boat, raft or tube! The mountains in Paradise Valley have numerous hiking trails -- but don't forget your bear spray! Paradise Valley offers many adventures and Mountain View Getaway is located right in the middle of all it has to offer. Paradise awaits!

About Melody Yoes

My husband and I are Louisiana born and spent our entire lives vacationing each summer to Yellowstone and the Tetons. We have five sons, now grown and married, and we are blessed with nine grandchildren! Our dream for retirement was to move to this area and we are now living that dream. We are eager to welcome others to the beauty and serenity we found in this special location in Paradise and have outfitted this rental just for this purpose. It is filled with animal photographs taken by us and rustic, western decor that we hope will make anyone's stay superb! Welcome to Paradise for a vacation you are sure to remember for years to come! The picture above is of four of our grandchildren playing in 8-mile creek behind out house.

Why Melody Yoes chose Yellowstone Country

Spectacular views! Brand new! Clean as a whistle. Beautifully decorated with Western Decor. Three miles from fishing on the Yellowstone River. Yellowstone National Park only 30 short minutes away. Chico Resort five minutes from the doorstep. Bring your wine and binoculars and your astronomy knowledge and you will feel like you're in heaven! When you wake up you will realize it's only Paradise!

What makes this cabin unique

The view from the den of this cabin/barn is unique. Emigrant Peak's beauty rises in the distance and provides the perfect setting for sunset with a view of the mountains. Proximity to Yellowstone and Chico Hot Springs and the town of Livingston and Gardiner is excellent. You will be awestruck with the beautiful vistas, animals and easy in/out access. Summer, winter or fall, this one-of-a-kind cabin is cozy and inviting for any traveler. We have had many travelers who have told us what a find this place was. One couple even called it a 'diamond in the rough.' It is brand new and has every amenity you could ask for.

Notes:
Lovely secluded property with beautiful mountain vistas from the den. Newly built and gorgeous interior with wood floors, all brand new appliances, cabinets, countertops and furniture for the western look. The den view is simply one-of-a-kind and provides a wonderful way to relax in the evening and enjoy remembering the events of the day or just watching TV or watching the beautiful night sky. Little light pollution so this is a great plus. Cozy, comfortable and truly a 'getaway.' Owners respect your privacy and the cabin is 150 yards from their house and has no windows that face their house. They are available if you need anything but do not disturb you unless you want to visit with them. They are eager to interact to answer any questions you may have or help in any way they can, but only at your request. Their extensive traveling in and around the area provide a wealth of information.

Wonderful place to stay when visiting Yellowstone!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my fiancé stayed here in September of 2013 for five nights while visiting Yellowstone. We absolutely LOVED this cabin! It was homey, private, clean and the views are absolutely AMAZING! Exactly how the pictures show! The whole booking process was extremely easy and laid back and all of our needs were met. This trip was particularly special to me because my fiancé proposed to me in Yellowstone, so I will never forget our trip to Yellowstone or our stay at Mountain View Getaway. I definitely want to stay here again if we ever get to come back!

Nice

Cabin was nice, clean. Views were wonderful. Only issue was the" washboard" road to and from the cabin.

Owner's Response: Well, obviously we have no control whatsoever over the road grating schedule by the county. We totally agree the road should be improved.

Want to stay forever!

  • 5 of 5

I love love love this VRBO rental. What makes it so awesome? Location, views, & owners. This rental isn't in the crowds or walking distance to any YNP souvenir stores or anything touristy. It is on a dirt/gravel road that feels like Montana because it is Montana. The views are stunning. Melody is awesome, although we never actually met her during our stay. My teenager and I stayed here for 2 nights. He slept on the pullout couch and woke up to the beautiful mountain views. I slept in the bedroom that had different mountain views. The bathroom is clean and accommodating. The kitchen is full stocked and ready to be used (if cooking is what you want to do on vacation). Luckily we stopped in Livingston at the Albertsons for food and beverages. I recommend to gas and grocery shop there before heading to the rental. I truly loved this place and will come back again!! Hopefully for a longer visit next time.

We will stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

This was an absolute great getaway for my wife and I. Very peaceful with amazing views of the mountains. Melody and Gene are such wonderful, kind-hearted people. They even gifted us with a nice message and mugs for our wedding anniversary. This is the place to stay in the Paradise Valley. The cabin has everything you need! We plan to come again in the Fall. You can't go wrong with booking this property!

Fresh and clean

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 had a fantastic stay! The place was probably the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. Even the sheets and towels felt clean and new. I knew we picked a country road location, but the directions were perfect and easy to follow. Taking a lot of stress off a long drive. The owners made booking fast and easy. The master bedroom had a beautiful view of the sunset each night. Along with the breath taking view from the living room. I would definitely stay here again.

Yellowstone National Park (NW entrance) is 30 minutes south where you can hike, view wildlife, participate in Ranger led events or simply tour this national treasure. In winter, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing is a wonderful way to enjoy the park. You will see bear, bison, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, coyotes, eagles, possibly wolves, and if you are lucky, moose. Fantastic caverns are Lewis and Clark caverns about an hour or so away. There are beautiful vistas everywhere. Chicot Hot Springs is a 5-star restaurant and old western building with lots of weekend entertainment, and activities daily including well-known hot springs/spa, dog sledding in winter, horse riding in summer, as well as wedding destination. Three hours away is the little town of West Yellowstone with IMAX, enclosed grizzly and wolf habitat and learning center that both adults and children will love, historical museum, and snowmobiling in winter. This is the quaint little western town where the western entrance into YNP is located (near Old Faithful). The drive outside the park to West Yellowstone is alongside the beautiful Gallatin River, also a fishing lure for fly fishermen! There is no absence of activities to enjoy and the beauty of nature surrounds you.
