Escape to our cozy adobe-style studio in Northern New Mexico, perfect for 2. Experience authentic Southwest charm with a kiva fireplace, private balcony with stunning Rio Hondo Valley views, and modern comforts. Ideally located between Taos and Taos Ski Valley, it's your perfect base for skiing, hiking, and exploring art galleries. Enjoy fast WiFi, a full kitchen, and easy self-check-in.

We prioritize your privacy and convenience with a seamless self-check-in process. We will not be present on the property during your stay, but we are always available and responsive via the messaging platform should you need anything or desire local recommendations.

The studio is located in a quiet, rural community at the base of the canyon to Taos Ski Valley.


Guests will enjoy complete and private access to the entire studio unit and its attached balcony. Check-in is a breeze with our keyless smart lock system; a unique, private code will be provided for your reservation. Please note that the front door entryway is a shared space, providing access to two other neighboring studios on the property.




Step into a classic Southwest design with rich Saltillo tile floors, traditional viga beams, and a large, wood-burning kiva fireplace that creates a cozy mountain ambiance. A sliding glass door opens to your private balcony overlooking the Rio Hondo Valley, complete with a bistro table, lounge chair, hammock, and string lights for exceptional stargazing.

From road 150 headed towards the canyon turn (sharply) left onto road 230. Follow 230 until you see the 'Hacienda del Valdez' sign on your right. This is a dirt road and 4-wheel drive is required. Follow the road up the hill. The condo building is on your right (the 3-tiered building). Park in front of or to the right of the building and follow the middle red staircase to Unit 10. Your studio is one of the three located inside.

- This studio is one of three uniquely designed units on the property.
- The studio does not have air conditioning. This is typical for mountain homes at this elevation, as the climate keeps the space naturally cool and comfortable at night.
- IMPORTANT: Cell service can be limited in the canyon. We highly recommend saving your door code, driving directions, and WiFi information offline before you arrive to ensure a smooth check-in.

A lovely studio perfect for 2 people located just at the base of the ski valley. Very convenient for people wanting to spend time on the mountain, with just a short drive into Taos. We will definitely stay again!

This was my second time staying at the Ristra Studio and I hope to be back! Perfect for access to skiing, exploring Taos, and popping over to Taos Cow for some ice cream. Favorite part has to be the porch for clear night stargazing and sunny afternoon reading in the hammock.

Perfect mountain vacation

This condo has everything you need! Charming southwest decor, an efficient layout, and beautiful views, plus all the supplies you need - whether you want to cook at home or enjoy nearby restaurants. We could easily drive to Taos Ski Valley every morning and explore downtown Taos in the evenings. The location is perfect!! Tyler (the owner) was quick to respond to all of my questions. Wonderful experience all around.

Big stay from a small package!

It's a studio, so practicality wins, but it has a great location and everything needed to be comfortable. My biggest suggestion is to ensure you have an AWD or 4WD car to get up the driveway when it starts snowing!

Why they chose this property

The condo is located in a stunning location at the mouth of the canyon to Taos Ski Valley. The community is quiet and we love the rural environment as a getaway from the business of life. Sunsets over the Rio Hondo Valley are spectacular all year and stargazing is fantastic on clear nights with no moon.

What makes this property unique

We spent months custom designing this property to embody the southwest. A hand-painted mural adds a splash of color. The wood burning stove provides a cozy space to curl up with a cup of tea, good book, or movie after a long day of skiing or hiking in the area. Love love the proximity that the condo provides to both the ski valley and the town of Taos as well. It's situated directly between the two and makes trips to either one easy. Arroyo Seco is a fantastic small-town community 5min away -- don't be fooled by its size; it has some of the best restaurants in the whole area!
