About the host
Hosted by Jenna Morgan
My family and I love traveling and have stayed in many short term rental homes and absolutely love the feeling of a home away from home instead of a hotel! We like to have lots of adventures from beach vacations to mountain stays, love to fish, camp, hike and explore. We recently decided to turn this home into garden family retreat that vacationers that families, couples, friends, or individuals could enjoy as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
We love that this home is minutes from Siesta Key Beach, and very close to Downtown Sarasota and great dining and social locations. The neighborhood itself is known as "Canopy Road" due to the vast amount of Great Live Oaks sprawling across the lawns, limbs covering the roads, and a small bridge with a little river leading into Philippe Creak and out to the Intracoastal.
What makes this property unique
This property provides a small sanctuary in the middle of all the city and beach attractions you could want. Our back "yard" area features a raised wooden deck with lots of vegetation, orchids, slate and stone areas, a small woven swing, outdoor kitchen - and best of all a 10ft waterfall flowing into a large Koi pond. During cool months when the doors and windows can be left open, you can hear the waterfall throughout the house creating a peaceful feeling not common in the middle of a city! Great place for yoga lovers, book readers, naps on the screened in patio, and family dinners. A ping pong table in the garage is great for kids or family competitions, light weight and easy to drag into the driveway. Two large swings in the front yard hanging from our massive Great Oak make a great place for kids to entertain themselves while hanging around the house!
