Julie, I’m so sorry you misunderstood that the house has two separate apartments. I have rented it that way for 10 years now and had only one other complaint. I cannot control the project that started two weeks before you arrived on the 20 acres behind the property. I do apologize for that that land sat vacant for three years. As for me occupying the house when not rented, yes, I do occasionally spend a week in there getting it prepared for the new people coming in. I have a full-time job, which is why I could not respond to you within a timeframe that you thought was reasonable with your complaints. It took you only four hours to assess whether or not you would enjoy living there. The dog was with me at work all day. We leave at 7:30 in the morning and do not return until 630 in the evening seven days a week. That door has been locked for 11 years now it is never opened. My son and I come and go through a separate entrance, we have separate parking, and I’m sorry that it was not what you expected. It’s much like living in a townhouse or a condo. I would’ve loved to have spoken to you before you got back to Vrbo about your complaints. They were very kind to you by offering you an immediate full refund. After hearing my part of the story and looking back through the history of all the people who have rented from me these past 11 years, they chose to respect the refund I was willing to give you had I had a chance to speak to you. Yes I had to ask my tenant to keep it at 72 because she had it set at 64. I when my maintenance man suggested that he couldn’t even service the unit outside with it set that low I asked her to keep it at 72. I don’t know anyone who would set their air conditioner lower than that certainly not at 64. And that’s just the beginning of the issues I had with this tenant
