About Jane & Peter Franchetti

My husband, myself, our children, grandchildren and extended family all enjoy spending time together at Stonecroft. Our property has a unique way of bringing us all together whether near or far. It is our pleasure to share this property with you and your family.

Jane & Peter Franchetti purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Jane & Peter Franchetti chose Wilton

As a former Bed & Breakfast, from about the 1940's-1970's, Stonecroft was well regarded by everyone who stayed here. For years before purchasing Stonecroft my family would kayak by the property and remark about its beauty and unique qualities. It was only a dream then, but now we are the fortunate owners of this remarkable piece of paradise and we feel grateful to extend a warm welcome to others so that they can come and enjoy Stonecroft just as much as we all have.

What makes this cottage unique

Stonecroft is very private and secluded property yet it is with in walking distance to Main Street. Wilton is a very quaint and friendly town which features a library, post office, grocery store, and other local businesses.

A touch of heaven

  • 5 of 5

My mother always wanted to go to Maine, so my sister, mom, two boys (12&9), myself and dog piled in the car and left Long Island and headed north! When we arrived it was late and dark. Peter greeted us upon arrival and was very warm to my family. The cabin was very clean and perfect for all of us. When we woke up the next morning, we were amazed by the view. The lake was beautiful and the property was large with many private settings. There was so much to do. Kayaks, a paddle boat and a canoe and tons of life jackets were at our disposal. My son fished all day...and into the night off the dock. Our dog loved the private sandy beach and played for hours in the lake. We all had a wonderful time at this special place. Jane and Peter couldn't have been more accommodating. We absolutely recommend staying at Stonecroft if your looking to slow things down and enjoy the beauty of Wislon lake. You will not be disappointed. We are looking forward to our next stay!

Exactly what the doctor ordered

  • 5 of 5

I live in the Boston area and work in sales so relaxing and kicking back isn't something that I get to do often. I took a week of from work and rented Stonecroft on Wilson Lake and it was better than I imagined. The cabin was perfect, right on the water, sun room to enjoy your morning coffee, plenty of kayaks and other boats to choose from, fire pit, hammocks, and lots of other accommodations. Speaking of accommodations, Peter and Jane are great and couldn't have been more accommodating! I loved this place and will be rebooking for next summer!

Thanks a million,

Stonecroft was better than we could have imagined

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been vacationing in Maine on a lake every summer for the past 3 years. This year we wanted to try to bring a group of friends with us to show them how great it is. Stone croft was the perfect setting for our group. Right on the lake, with kayak's, paddle boat, etc. Large enough for a group our size (8) and probably a few more. It felt like home even though we were only there a short time. Dealing with the owners was extremely easy and they were always responsive with any questions beforehand or while we were there. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful relaxing get-away

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 4 nights in the cottage and had a wonderful time. Jane and Peter were very welcoming and invited us to use their sports equipment and have the run of the property. We kayaked, paddle-boated, row-boated, played badminton and relaxed in the hammocks. We ended the evenings with a campfire. Cottage is well equipped - they thought of everything - and very comfortable. Town of Farmington is not far and has a few shops and restaurants (we ate at the Homestead - great food). There's a nice 1.4 mile loop trail in some conservation land at the top of the lake. Highly recommended for a low key vacation.

Garden of Eden

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself and our two young kids, ages 3 & 6, have stayed at Stonecroft for the past two summers in the gorgeous lakeside guest cottage. Stonecroft has become so near and dear to our hearts....my children talk about "camp" and all the memories that were made there for the entire year though. They tell all their friends about their camp adventures and everything they discovered while in Maine. One of their most cherished memories is making their very own fairy house! They collected materials everyday while galivanting through all the little hidden nature trails and gardens this property has to offer. They were so pround of their treasures....bark, leaves, pinecones, moss, twigs, stones....you name it, they found it at Stonecroft! This genuine Maine tradition of fairy house building has become one of their fondest memories! Stonecroft has truly become our little "garden of eden". And I am quite sure my dog would say the same....vacationing at Stonecroft took atleast 5 years off from her....my senior dog suddenly turned into a puppy all over again. Lakeside living on this property is any dog's little piece of heaven as well. There is a new adventure around every corner here. There is countless things to do, rain or shine! I would highly recommend Stonecroft to anyone. I think this place has something to offer everybody! We anxiously await our return!
