En stille, dejlig gammel gård på et smukt stykke land nær Shenandoah Park

En smuk gammel gård ved foden af ​​Blue Ridge Mountains. 1880 bondegård ligger på en lille bugt, der løber gennem hele femogtyve acre ejendom. Huset er rent, minimalistisk dekoreret med udsigt over græsgange ud af hvert vindue.

Gården ligger 80 miles fra Washington DC og er lige ned ad vejen fra Sperryville, Old Rag Mountain, Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive og andre lokale attraktioner.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The scenery is beautiful and the house was really great -- clean and tidy, has a lot of cool art and furniture, plenty of room for a whole family, and a wonderful screened-in porch that was perfect for enjoying the beautiful weather. The host was very helpful and communicative, and check-in and -out was a breeze. The house is also perfectly located for easy access to all the fun stuff that Sperryville and the surrounding area has to offer.

What a wonderful place! The dogs were convinced they'd found their own private park, and we loved having so much room to relax. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked (a special thank-you for the sharp knives. Anyone who cooks knows what a luxury that is!), and the peace and quiet away from the city was exactly what we needed.Thank you for sharing your beautiful space with us and for welcoming our four-legged travel companions, too. We'd happily come back!

Very comfortable accommodations with beautiful views and lots of land around. Slept really well in the quietness of the country. 3 miles from Sperryville which is a cute little town with small gourmet restaurants and wine bars. Copper Fox is a beautiful distillery right in town. Three Blacksmths was where we went for our anniversary dinner which was one of the best dining experiences ever. Shenandoah parkway very close with lots of cute markets on the way. We had everything in the house we could ask for. Very nice relaxing stay.

A lovely farm in Virginia

We had an excellent stay. The farm is nestled in the most beautiful landscape and down the street from great food and drink. The house itself was incredibly clean and full of beautiful art.

Fourth on the Farm

Great property for celebrating a quiet, relaxed Fourth of July holiday. Comfortable bed, loads of cooking supplies, and a great screened porch.

Very relaxing stay in a period style farm house. The homeowner’s art is displayed throughout his house and took us a few minutes to acclimate to his style but was very comfortable during our stay.

Tucked away in the beautiful Virginia countryside

This lovingly restored farm house was the perfect spot from which to explore the Shenandoah Park and to visit the charming towns in the area including Little Washington and Middleburg. The well-equipped kitchen served us well for preparing dinners after our day's exploration.

Serene getaway

We enjoyed our stay, very quiet and beautiful location away from all the noise and business. The grounds are very nice, the house was charming. Our dog loved running in the fields and jumping in the stream. Our host was very nice and responded quickly to our questions, kitchen very well stocked. We had a lovely time.

Quiet get away

My husband and I were looking for a quiet get away with our dogs and this was the place for us. The property is in a beautiful setting and very private. We so enjoyed walking around the property and along the stream. John keeps the house immaculate and is attentive to guests needs. The location is perfect for being near hiking and wineries. We look forward to a future stay.

Beautiful Restored House with Stunning Art

The house and property are beautiful and so peaceful! Only 5 minites to Sperryville and 20 minutes to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive! The beds were so comfy, the kitchen well stocked, and the furniture was classic. The art everywhere is thought provoking and intriguing! We loved our stay at Jonathan's house!

Peaceful and Private

I’ve never been so pleasantly surprised by a property! Absolutely stunning land with multiple hangout spots atop a little hill with Mountain View’s either direction, by the stream or on the hammock in the large screened in porch. Less than 10 min from all that Sperryville has to offer. Will definitely be staying here again soon!

Perfect weekend

We had an amazing weekend at John's farmhouse. The old farmhouse has so much character and the antiques were just wonderful. Watching the sunrise every morning come over the mountain was just amazing. If you are looking to get away to a place that's quiet, peaceful and tranquil then you need to stay at John's. The creek runs through the property and is a lovely walk. We will definitely be coming back.

Great property! Fun location!

This was the perfect place for my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. The house has a ton of old charm with a unique style and flair. My daughters loved the library, the art, and the creek. Close to hiking at Old Rag, wineries, orchards, markets and dining in Sperryville. John was a very thoughtful and responsive property manager. Book it!

Always the best!

This is our second time to stay at Walnut Hill, and it is an amazing property--our teenage boys and dog are outside all day, and it is close to Sperryville and great hiking. It is in wonderful shape--the pictures describe it perfectly, and it is always perfectly clean. We've stayed in other places in the area, and this is one of the very, very best! If you're considering it, I say book it as soon as you can! We'll definitely be back!

A little gem

The four of us came to John's place with different needs: the kids wanted open space to fly a little plane they received at Christmas, my husband wanted to be close enough to a coffee shop and I wanted hilly open space and a house with charm. Incredibly we all found what we were looking for. It was the perfect spot for us. We also highly appreciated John's overall kindness and ways of communication.

Secluded and Serene

This 1880 farmhouse was a perfect getaway. The farm is close to several wineries, Shenandoah National Park and 80 miles from Washington D.C. We spent most of our mornings on the large screened in porch drinking coffee while listening to the exchange of songs sung by the native birds. The house is well preserved with original wavy glass windows and hardwood floors throughout. If you are a chef or strive to be, the kitchen is well stocked with just about every utensil you can imagine. Sleeping was not an issue with the lullaby of crickets in a beautiful, comfortable bed. Great communication with the host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic - Five Stars!!

We had an amazing time at John's farmhouse. We wanted to get out of the city for a little nature therapy, and we couldn't have been happier at the farmhouse. Hiking during the day and chilling on the patio in the evening -- surrounded by big beautiful trees, lush green rolling hills, the sounds of nature, and lots of history. We also loved checking out John's art, which is on display throughout the house.While the farmhouse itself is (of course) old, it still has all the modern amenities you might want or need. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and any toiletries or supplies you might have forgotten are there. John was very responsive (and super accommodating with a couple special requests that we had). My friend was also happy to be able to bring her sweet dog for the weekend.I couldn't recommend the place more!

Lovely, quiet, and beautiful

We very much enjoyed our time here. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, etc for home cooking. We spent most of our time on the screened-in porch and outside - the farm land is large and there are lots of long walks to be had, lots of places for naps on blankets, lots of stars! We went into Shenandoah NP a few times - to skyline drive but also to hikes from the park boundary. Communication with John was wonderful. Rooms as shown in pictures; TV is in the kitchen.

Terrific

A very beautiful house with peaceful surroundings. Lots of trails nearby and Sperryville has a lovely corner store.
