The Pirate's Quarter

Bedrooms 1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Charming Cottage in the heart of Old Town and the Conch Republic. This is a great location in historic Bahama Village: a quiet, friendly neighborhood where you will quickly become a 'local'.

Sit out in the fenced front yard under the shade of the large Palm Tree and flowering Frangipani Tree and watch the steady stream of locals and tourists stroll by.

Centrally located and easy walking distance to all Key West has to offer including great restaurants, shopping, bars, beaches and historical sites.

Every evening Key West celebrates the sunset at Mallory Square. We are fortunate to have some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world and Mallory Square is a short 10 minute walk away.

After your morning coffee, walk seven blocks to the Southernmost Point in the continental United States where you will be 152 miles from the mainland but only 90 miles from Cuba.

Walk only two blocks to Duval Street, one block to Blue Heaven restaurant, four blocks to the Green Parrot Bar and one block to the Hemingway House.

The Key West Lighthouse is only two blocks away and can be seen from the front yard.

You will be very close to the shops, restaurants and bars on Duval Street but still far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Key West night life to have a quiet retreat after the sun goes down.

Two large flat screen TVs with DVD library and DVD player

Gas grill and outdoor dining table

In-wall safe to secure your valuables

2 Bikes available, Wireless WiFi, Desk and Computer

About Dave Dulinski

We live in Key West and enjoy time away at our vacation properties outside Yellowstone National Park in Montana and in Wayne National Forest in Southeastern Ohio. Hopefully you will visit us soon and we can share our favorite places in Key West which are all within easy walking distance.

Heather & Dave Dulinski

Key West, Florida

Dave Dulinski purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Dave Dulinski chose Bahama Village

After vacationing repeatedly in Key West since 1982, we purchased a home here in 2008. We enjoy the weather and living in this very unique community. We especially love living in Bahama Village. Bahama Village is a close-knit neighborhood where everyone knows you very quickly and does not hesitate to say 'hello'.

What makes this cottage unique

We enjoy everything our Caribbean island has to offer: boating, fishing, snorkeling, nightlife, historical sites, art gallaries, live music, bike rides and some great friendships.

Perfect Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This location is ideal. It is pretty well central to all the downtown activities. A short block and a half is the Hemmingway House and the Lighthouse. If you are not a beach person, there is a pool a short 3-4 block walk that was very clean. There are coaster bikes with baskets and lights which makes traveling the Island easy. Just check the daily paper that is delivered and you'll know how many cruise ships are docked, among other interesting reads. Heather and Dave were very accommodating and gave us several suggestions of activities available. For a winter retreat, we've found our home. Loved it.

Again, PERFECT! BEST place to stay in Key West

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at The Pirate's Quarter and it was even better than our last visit. The restaurants, bars, beaches.....everything is so convenient. We find it peaceful to stay off of Duval but everything you need or want is less than a 10 minute walk away. The home is very comfortable and has absolutely every amenity that you need. Heather and Dave are always so friendly and willing to offer any advice and recommendations to make your Key West experience the best it possibly can be. We hope to be back very soon for our fall visit to Key West.

A Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was our first vacation to Key West in 10 years and we could not have found a better place to stay. The Pirates Quarter was everything we could have asked for. The location was unbeatable as it is 2 blocks away from the bustling Duval Street, but located in a quiet neighborhood where we could just enjoy living on island time. Heather and Dave were more than helpful with suggestions on what to do, see and where to eat. If we had any questions they were only a phone call away and they were quick to make sure we were enjoying our time and had everything we needed. The rental also included a wealth of reading material on the Keys as well as a complete guide Heather & Dave provided about Key West. The Quarters is conveniently located next to some excellent restaurants such as Blue Heaven and Santiago's Bodega, as well as a block away from a small convenience store for any of our immediate needs. We love the set up with a large and open living room/kitchen separate from the unique bedroom and bathroom. The large front yard was perfect to relax in with the palm trees swaying in the wind. Our first time staying at the Pirates Quarters could not have been more enjoyable and we will definitely look to stay here again on our next visit to Key West.

Amazing Honeymoon!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Pirates Quarters and it is everything that the previous reviewers have stated and more! Checking in was a breeze and the owner Heather was there to greet us that evening and with lots of information and a quick tour of the rental. I really can't say enough about how awesome and helpful the owners are. Any time we had a question about the unit or island they were just a call or text away and Heather recommended a restaurant that ended up being one of our most memorable nights.

As for the rental property itself, it was perfect. The kitchen/living space was spacious with updated decor and appliances. Having a full size fridge was great for storing beverages and food. The bedroom was the perfect size and very cozy with the dark wood. Bed was very comfortable, slept great. Bathroom was very cool and had a great island feel. Oversized shower with two showerheads=amazing. The BEST part was the huge front patio. We probably spent most of out time here when we weren't out in the city. Gas grill came in handy, we brought back some fish that we had caught from an excursion and were able to make a great dinner. Patio furniture was comfy and we were able to just sit outside relax and wave to locals as they walked by.

As for the location, you really can't ask for a better one. Just 2 blocks, or maybe a 5 minute walk to the center of Duval St and all that it has to offer, although the neighborhood the property was located in was quiet and very private. The famous Blue Heaven Restaurant is literally right down the street on the corner(we ate/drank there several times), same with Hemingway's House. Right next to that are Santiago's and Firefly. Make sure you try the fried Pig Ears at Firefly! Fort Zach is a quick 10 min bike ride. Oh and take advantage of the bikes on the property. Spending time all over the island I am convinced there really isn't a better location to stay and be so close to all that Key West offers. The Pirate Quarters will definitely be #1 on our list when we return in the future. Thank you Heather & Dave!!

This was our third trip to Pirates Cove and once again it was heaven on earth. The location is the best in Key West, the accommodations are spectatulor. There is nothing more one could want! We love our annual visit to Key West and we love to see Dave and Heather. They are knowledgeable about the island and it's culture. They are wonderful hosts---thank you both so very much!

great place!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent place to spend time in Key West and get a mix of a local and tourist feel. Well-kept premises that have a very charming atmosphere. Very clean, and one of the nicest places around the neighborhood. The landlords are amazingly nice as well, and attentive. You can't go wrong with a stay here. Definitely recommended.
