Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths

Kick back on the deck of this mountain cabin and sip your morning coffee while taking in the majestic views of Slate Mountain. Or, watch for falling stars and search for constellations free of light and smog polution. The unobstructed views of the night sky are tremendous! You may plan your rock climbing trek or fishing expedition up the Tule River while sitting at the dining table. The comfortable couches are perfect to curl up with a novel in front of a fire as snow falls around this peaceful cabin before you head out sledding with the kids.

You will love the five-minute walk to the Camp Nelson general store for an ice cream, or a Nelson Burger from the Diner.

This perfectly located cabin is ideal for peaceful time away from cell phones, computers and the hustle and bustle of everyday life or merely a foray into the High Sierras to see the giant redwoods in the National Forest and the Trail of 100 Giants

You can easily visit Sequoia and Kings Canyon on a day trip. However, once you are here you will appreciate the lack of tourists, tourist buses, and the solitude that comes with our quiet hamlet located in the Sequoia National Monument south of Sequoia and Kings Canyon.

About Lisa McFadden Neath

Our family started in the rental business in 1974 in Bakersfield, California. It is our passion and pride to offer quality properties to our community and the communities we become a part of. We have expanded to the Central Coast and Sequoias. As owners that are hands on, we are proud of each unique property we offer to others to enjoy for a few days or make their home. As the second generation I am proud to carry on my dad's vision and dreams for our properties.

Lisa McFadden Neath purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Lisa McFadden Neath chose Sequoia, Kings Canyon

My dad had always dreamed of having a place in the mountains to fish and be amongst the trees. He wanted something to pass on to his family so he purchased this cabin in 1990. He loves that we are able to share it with others since he can't spend the time there he would like. He relishes in the great feedback from people that appreciate our property and enjoys getting to meet guests when he is around.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is not a house, a mansion or a hotel, but a quaint and cozy preserved cabin that has been well loved and maintained. The best part? Cell Phones do not work in the mountains and we do not have internet service. This is truly a time away from all the hectic electronics of today's world. I can relax and not feel tied to work.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time! Mom has never stayed in a cabin before and brought everything, even chairs for the deck. She was pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the cabin was, it has everything. We found everything so clean and homey. We loved it and we will be back. We met Joe and thought he was a terrific guy. We enjoyed our cozy fires and the view is spectacular. We even saw some deer in the front yard.

Perfectly appointed cabin in a star gazers paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had a small mix up initially with the cabins, but the owner was quick to remedy the situation days before our arrival and was great source of preparative communication due to the no cell tower or wifi availability once in Camp. The location was peaceful and family oriented and the accommodations luxurious from the fluffy beds and overstuffed couches to the claw footed soaking tub. The kitchen was fully stocked and the washer/dryer on the outside porch hilariously no intrusive but super functional. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to get away from hustle and bustle. Only hint: the diner around the corner stops serving dinner 1 hour prior to closing time.

Great time in a great cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 2-night stay in this cabin. We enjoyed the big kitchen, outdoor grill, fresh linens and stargazing from the porch. Easy distance from two of our trip highlights, the Trail of 100 Giants and Dome Rock. We also hiked some of Nelson Trail along the Tule River. Wonderful to be out in the forests. We loved this charming cabin and would stay again!

An excellent retreat.

  • 4 of 5

Our family very much enjoyed staying at this quaint cabin on a mountain. We were weary from many days of travel and were pleased with a slower pace and a home like atmosphere with a gorgeous view. When we arrived there were deer grazing behind the cabin. The drive further up the mountain to see the enormous and beautiful Sequoia Trees (on the Trail of 100 Giants as well as the Stagg Tree) was a highlight of our trip and our oldest son's favorite part. We are grateful and would recommend this cabin to anyone.
