The place was great! Had everything I needed and more for a home away from home. Kitchen was stocked, ample towels, the bed was very comfortable. The whole property is beautifully maintained and the hosts were fantastic. Looking forward to coming back soon
The mobile home was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. Paul, the host, is very communicative, friendly and helpful. A very pet friendly place to stay!
Clean, inviting country charm! Very pet friendly-fenced back yard and large pet run on the side. Restaurants and shopping a little ways away but if you are wanting the restful countryside this is for you!!
This is a great place to stay! In addition to being so close to the Equestrian Center, the place if very homey and comfortable. The hosts are very welcoming and very easy to communicate with.
We had everything we needed and more. The location was perfect for our weekend event at Tryon. We couldn't have been much closer. Paul and Jana were GREAT and so accommodating. Paul even gave us a run down on local restaurants. We wish those had been a little closer in proximity to the house but we managed to get what we needed.
The owners are beyhond accomodating and the place was great! Easy little spot for our 2 girls and pup. It's very centrally located and we can't wait to go back when we have our next Tryon event!
Little "me time" getaway. Paul and Jana were so kind and welcoming. The dogs were so sweet and friendly. I enjoyed horseback riding, shopping and visiting TIEC. Great weekend!
My goodness, what a wonderful time we had! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home...it was so peaceful and exactly what we needed! We absolutely cannot wait to come back!
What a beautiful property and gracious host! The house was perfect for our weekend in the mountains and the property hosts, especially the furry ones, were so sweet ;-). Paul took care of everything, especially making sure we found the house in the dark, and even had hot tea for my mom. It was very clean, towels were super fluffy, and easiest checkout process of all the VRBO's we've used. We visit Tryon a couple of times a year and will definitely stay here again.
We travel with our two little dogs and enjoy walking them on a leash but here, there is a fenced yard just for our dogs! It was great to let them loose and watch them run around without a leash. Quiet and clean. Well equipped. Great location beautiful area.
In town for the Tryon Steeplechase. 10 minutes way, which was great.
The rental was beautiful and well kept. The owners were as friendly as they come. The animals were fantastic.
Will definitely come back again.
We ended up not staying last minute due to a change in plans but Paul was easy to communicate with the entire time leading up to our stay. We hope for a chance to actually stay in the future.
I've stayed in a lot of short term rental properties for horse shows and this was by far the best one! The home is just perfect and you can't ask for better hosts than Jana and Paul ....and their critters!! Jana and Paul even came to watch my daughter show at TIEC one day.
The location is super convenient for the Tryon International Equestrian Center too. They made us feel like family. I plan to make their place the only place we stay when we go to shows in Tryon!
About 10 minutes to TIEC and a very easy drive. Friendly dogs and plenty of space to exercise our pup. VERY well equipped for all cooking, laundry, cleaning. The master did not have a queen size bed and the second bedroom had twin beds. Very nice back patio area with roof. we liked the interior decor, very horse themed. We will try to stay there again if we are in the neighborhood.

Hi Judith,
Thank you so much for your kind words. We really appreciate it. We strive to provide our guests a clean home that has everything they need during their stay. It good to hear we are doing well from that perspective.
Just to verify, the master bedroom has a standard pillow top queen size bed, and the second bedroom has 2 standard twin beds.
We look forward to seeing you again if your travels bring you back to Tryon. You are welcome guests anytime.
Safe travels.
Loved the views, warmhearted hospitality, comfort of home
We wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks for providing such a hospitable home away from home during our stay. Your warmth and hospitality made our trip truly memorable.
We thoroughly enjoyed observing the playful antics of your delightful pups, as well as the serene presence of your horses and chickens from our view. The larger dog run in the front is a great idea.
Your trailer exudes a lovely ambiance with all the comforts of home. Thank you for the adding the smaller dog run area to the back alongside the back deck. Both the front and back run runs made it easy to care for our pups.
Thank you once again for your hospitality and for making our stay so enjoyable.
This is a very cozy place with everything you need. The owners are so nice and helpful. We had a power outage due to a storm and they immediately checked on us and offered support. They are working to improve the property even as we were there he put in an outdoor fire pit area even though there was already a nice gas fire table available for use.Beds were comfy, nice to have the 2nd bedroom and laudry room!A very large fenced in dog run is available as well.Owners dogs are on property but they both have invisible fence collars and cant come near the rental unit. They are nice dogs and i had fun tossing the ball for Pike.Felt very safe here as the driveway is gated and house has secure locks on doors/windows.A pleasant stay!

Peacefulness.
What makes this property unique
Jana and Joan purchased the farm in 1996.
In early 2017 Joan Dove purchased the mobile home and live in the home until her death in 2023 at the age of 90.
Joan’s professional name was Joan MacIntyre, a listed Equine artist internationally known for her lifelike horses. Joan continued to paint and give painting lessons up to a week before her death.
If you Google "Joan MacIntyre, equine artist" you will see a lot of her work.
Her final and unfinished painting hangs in our home. It is the only painting she made of her lifelong love and the father of her 2 children, Joe Dawkins. Joe was the horse trainer in the 1950’s and 1960’s on El Rancho Escondido on Catalina Island for the Wrigley family.
A few of her works along with some of her horse books remain in the home.
Living solely on her painting commissions, Joan raised 2 children, purchased several homes, and traveled to Europe many times.
For those who love art, horses, and horse racing you are in for a treat when you rent Joan MacIntyre's former home.
