Relaxing spot!

It was a wonderful location - beautiful beach, dock and yard! Lots of loons on the lake to listen to - it was a fabulous cottage and a cozy stay.

Simply perfect

We couldn't have asked for a nicer holiday. The cottage was everything we needed. We absolutely loved the beach, watching the baby ducks and loons. I also loved that there were hardly any mosquitoes. The owners Mike and Shirley were extremely hospitable and we look forward to our next visit.

A great week

We had an excellent stay! The cottage was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the location was perfect for what we needed with a 1 year old. We won’t hesitate to rent here again in the future!

We loved our stay! We had a wonderful time. Their cottage is beautiful and very well maintained. The beach is wonderful with lots of space and soft sand for the kids to play. Our hosts were very kind and welcoming and offered support with anything that we needed. There was lots of activities available with space even for our kids to ride their bikes. Mike and Shirley were also very understanding about our dog, which we appreciated so much! Thank you both so much! We are looking forward to returning next year :)

Family vacation in Minden

To celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday and high school graduation we decided to take a weeks vacation at a cottage in Minden. My mother in law from the UK joined us and we had a fantastic time. The cottage owners who live next door were so kind and even offered us a ride on their boat to check out the lake. The cottage was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The location is great and Minden is just a short ride away for any groceries etc..Weather was fantastic and our week was an amazing stay. Thank you Mike and Shirley for such a wonderful week!

Great Cottage Experience!

The cottage was clean and lovely! Very comfortable space, great beds, the beach and dock areas were amazing. The lake is pristine and we swam daily! Mike and Shirley were attentive without being intrusive. Just great! Can’t say enough good things! We’re going back next year!

Great vacation

We stayed at this property for one week in August. The cottge was clean and well maintained and sits right on the water with a sandy beach. This was perfect for our two year old granddaughter. The owners provided kayaks, a paddle boat and a canoe which we thoroughly enjoyed. The owners, Mike and Shirley were great hosts and we plan to rent again next year.

Great family cottage week

My family and I had a wonderful week on Horseshoe Lake. Mike and Shirley were the ultimate hosts providing a cottage that lacked nothing - kitchen stocked with all the cooking items you would need; comfy beds; beach toys for my daughter and satellite/movies for those rainy days. The beach is large for sand play and offers easy access into the lake for toddlers. Lots of chairs and loungers provided. Water toys for use (kayaks, canoe and paddleboat) to get out on the water and explore the lake. The cottage is on shared property with the owners however Mike and Shirley keep to themselves - available if needed, but allow for privacy. Overall a great week making cottage memories.

Horseshoe Lake, Minden

It was delightful and spacious. Shirley and Mike were gracious hosts. They were delightful. Everything at the cottage worked except we couldn’t figure out the vacuum cleaner. :) The outdoor fire pit was a highlight. The beach was clean and welcoming. We would like to thank Shirley and Mike for the gifts celebrating our marriage with the Ukrainian good luck bouquet and lovely wine. Hope to see you again next summer. Jack and Donna

Happy in the Highlands

Horseshoes bring good luck, just like this cottage stay on Horseshoe Lake in Minden. Our family had summered in the Haliburton Highlands since the mid-50s so, my sister and I knew and loved cottage country and decided to take a break for ourselves up there again. What a treat to land at Mike and Shirley's wonderful classic summer cottage in a perfect waterfront setting; exactly as they had described. Spacious, quiet, clean, well cared for - and they have thought of everything to outfit the place inside and out. We are cooks and the kitchen was great. The location is super for conveniences and/or exploration and adventures. Their waterfront is lovely - you have your choice of sandy beach or your own dock for swimming, kayaking or just planted in a Muskoka chair and listening to the loons. It's all good. Mike and Shirley and their sweet dog Luna are excellent hosts - warm, friendly and responsive to anything you need whether they are in or out of town. They do live next door about half the week, but have their own life at the lake so, never a bother. This cottage stay on Horseshoe is a winner all around. I will definitely book with Mike and Shirley again when I'm up for time up at the lake again.

Wonderful stay at cottage on beach!

We had a great time at Mike's cottage and ended up coming up for an additional week. The cottage is spacious yet cozy and the beach and property are beautiful and well-maintained. Can't wait to return next summer!

Horseshoe Lake Heaven

Excellent spot for young children. Sandy beach and toys were perfect for 2 and 4 year old. Nice dock to sit on for adults as well. Cottage was well equipped with everything needed.

Terrific, well equipped cottage on beautiful lake. Owners are right next door & lovely/helpful. Wifi spotty (to our teenagers disappointment), but hey, it’s cottage country.

lovely, clean cottage

This is a lovely three bedroom classic Ontario cottage on beautiful Horseshoe Lake near Minden. Very pleasant and helpful owners live next door. Nice, sandy beach. Especially enjoyed reading on the dock in the morning, listening to the loons. Hope to return next summer.
