A Residential Home in Old Town:
As you step onto a mahogany front porch with two large benches and window boxes, you open a walnut wood front door into a spacious and very inviting open floor plan. The dining room is to your left with a beautiful baby grand piano in the front window.
The marble pedestal table invites guests to seat on comfy upholstered chairs and surround themselves with beautifully appointed furniture. The table can accommodate eight. The ceiling fixture is a Gaelic silver chandelier.
Your eyes are then drawn to the living room with its tranquil pallet of turquoise, white and tan. The ceiling is painted a very soft sky blue. There is a flat screen 36"' TV with HD and a DVD player; a ceiling fan; a wood burning fireplace.
Look beyond to a cheerful and bright kitchen with all amenities.
The color scheme is blue/white with eggnog and white cabinets. The bead board trimmed island has set-in blue/white ceramic tile. There is a sky blue Kohler double ceramic sink, a ceiling fan and a bay window - what more could you ask for. Seating for two at extended kitchen counter or in dining room or on deck.
To the left of the kitchen is a full bath, hallway and bedroom separated by a pocket door, which allows privacy for the guests. Bathroom has a Kohler white ceramic tub with shower and a single sink vanity called Martha's Vineyard by the manufacturer. The ceramic tile surrounding the tub is in a subway design. The room has white bead board trim 3/4's up the wall and a ceramic floor in the design of a bleached wooden deck. The bathroom is separate from the bedroom.
The attached bedroom has a trundle bed that converts into two twin beds or a king size bed. There is ample closet space. The bedroom also has a ceiling fan.
Beyond the kitchen is a mudroom with coat closets and whimsical primary colored wallpaper of checks/stripes. There is also a window seat.
This area leads out onto a large mahogany deck, which also has a staircase leading down to a large backyard. There is a safety gate at the top of stairs to protect children and/or a dog. Seating on the deck and white patio furniture makes you feel as though you are in a space all of your own. The deck has seating for twelve. A canvas gazebo covers part of deck and has curtains that can be drawn if it rains. It is appointed with an indoor/outdoor carpet, lighting, seating and tables for hors d'oeuvres. Looking beyond the deck, you can appreciate the lovely quiet setting, the shady trees, the old New England stone walls and the gardens. A Weber propane grill is provided with utensils.
The second floor has a mahogany balcony at the top of the stairs. First upstairs room is used as a den. It has a computer table and a trundle bed with two twins. There is a large oak armoire for storing clothing. The 3rd bedroom has white wicker furniture and a ceiling fan. No bed is provided.
Bathroom is separate from master bedroom. It has a single sink vanity called Nantucket by the manufacturer. There is a large ceramic walk in shower with handicap arm bars. The room follows the same decorating theme as the downstairs bathroom with bead board and ceramic floor tile. Across from the bath is a full size washer and dryer. (Detergent provided.)
The master bedroom is large. It has a king size bed with a feather bed topper. There is a comfortable wing chair and a 32" flat screen TV with DVD player; plenty of drawers and closet space.
Upon purchase (2004), the home was completely gutted and redesigned with architectural plans. Square footage is approximately 1700.
Floors on the first level are all oak hard wood. The second level is carpeted.
The backyard is fully enclosed and safe for children and/or dog.
Detached garage can accommodate a mid size car. There is additional parking in driveway for two cars.

An absolutely beautiful house with the most lovely owner. The attention to detail was amazing including providing coffee and linens as you don’t often travel with those things. The property was warm and inviting. The yard and landscaping was very nice with many nooks to sit in and enjoy a book or coffee in the morning. It was just a short drive into Salem and Marblehead itself is extremely quaint. We are already planning a trip back. Thank you very much.
Out of town family attending a wedding. Beautifully appointed. Exceptionally clean. Gardens and yard lovely. Host was available and very accommodating. Location to Old Town and beaches was perfect. This home will be a destination again.
A beautiful house. Immaculate and fully equipped. Great location. Owner is very pleasant person
The house is beautiful, as described. Kitchen and bathrooms are very clean and nicely appointed. The dining room is very formal, so we felt more comfortable at the breakfast bar (to make sure we didn't spill anything on the dining room furniture or carpet). The master bedroom was large and comfortable. The other bedrooms are reasonably sized and very pleasant. There are many decorative items throughout the house, so it is not ideal for small children. We limited our grandsons (all under four, and just visiting for a few hours) to the playroom and the backyard. We found the deck and the backyard to be an especially appealing feature. The grandsons were happy playing catch or tag in the yard, and the adults enjoyed the deck, where we could keep an eye on them. There is a very nice canopy/tent in one area of the deck where you are sheltered from the sun, or rain, or mosquitoes (not that we noticed any). The owner is extremely considerate. For example, she has the yard treated to prevent ticks, to make sure that guests and their pets are safe, and contacted us to make sure that everything was satisfactory. Five stars!
Best Patriot's Day weekend!
We had a wonderful stay at Linnea's house as a getaway for our daughter from her college campus. The house is marvelously situated in Marblehead and very well decorated. Everything was comfortable and the weather warmed so we could use the deck outside. Her internet was excellent (very important to college aged kids.) Linnea was very gracious. Her kitchen has everything I needed to make breakfasts and lunch and to bake some special treats I like to make for my college freshman so she felt home away from home. Great vacation for me too!
Great home and host in downtown Marblehead
This was probably our best stay for any Homeaway / airbnb property in the country. The house was beautiful and clean. It has a great back deck, a nice yard and comfortable front porch. The attention to detail was refreshing with more than enough clean towels, specific baskets with beach towels, cleaned grill, a solid intro packet. We have 3 kids (5, 7, 9) and the location of the house was perfect for us. We were across the street from a park and walking distance to down town marblehead. There was plenty of room for parking as well. We had a great stay, were taken care of and will definitely come back again.
Great home for family get togethers or vacation
100% satisfied -- only thing to keep in mind is this home is not child proofed ..... a lot of beautiful figurines,
vases , etc. ( just had to move them to a higher location ) Will try to rebook next year !!!!!
