About this property

Great quiet cottage, river/channel/ship views, large Deck and Dock. No FEES!

No additional hidden fees except a pet fee if it applies and trailer parking fee (from Marina).

2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with loft in Clayton, NY on the St Lawrence river! In a great quiet location... The cottage is in the 1000 island's region and is a few minutes east of downtown Clayton. Just east of Clayton marina.

Over $25k has been put into the cottage since 2016. New roof, deck, bathroom, flooring, fencing for pets, air conditioner/heat.

Long dock to keep your boat or boat rental. Two boat launches literally a few hundred feet away! In a bay and with channel views to see the big ships! You can refresh with a swim from the dock which has a ladder to get in and out.

The cottage is 800 sq feet and has a 500 sq foot deck built in 2017 with two outside tables, a large grill, and a Pergola for some shade. Some shed space is available if desired.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms, both with queen beds. There is also a loft with a queen size mattress that the kids will love! Note the entrance to the loft is from a ladder.

The living room overlooks the river through 2 sliding glass doors and has two couches and a few chairs. Linens are included.

There is a breakfast/eating nook which also overlooks the water from one of the sliding glass doors. It is a bench/booth table which seats up to 6.

There is a small kitchen with a full size refrigerator, sink, stove/oven, microwave, and coffee pot. It is equipped with silverware, pots and pans, utensils, etc. The water is used for washing not drinking. Some water will be provided in the refrigerator for drinking.

The bathroom was redone in 2018 and has a 48in vanity, toilet, a stand up shower, and a stacked washer and dryer.

A new fence in 2020 from the deck to the water on both sides to help our pets stay in the yard!

Directv HD television with a 50" TV. Great cell service from all carriers. Hi speed Spectrum Wifi/internet is also available. There is no land line telephone.

Take a boat tour with Clayton Island Tours which is literally 100 feet away! They also have a concession stand which is convenient when you want a snack or drink. Look up their website for bookings and seasonal hours.

Good Location and docking for your boat, you can easily launch at the marina next door and use your trolling motor to dock it at the house. Decent little place to stay.

Adorable cottage

We have stayed here twice before and just love how cute the cottage is. It is great to watch large ships go by, kayaking, fishing and swimming off the dock. Very quiet and relaxing. Will be back again for sure.

Great views! Great location if you do not want to be right in the hustle and bustle but still close to everything. Very cozy cottage and felt comfortable making it home for 5 days. Would definitely return and rent again!!

Perfect place on the river

This really is a true gem of a cottage. Cozy, clean, quiet and comfortable. Spectacular views and close to everything. We had a perfect time with absolutely no problems or concerns. Plus Rick is the perfect host, checked in with us, made sure we didn’t have any issues and quickly answered any questions. Really was a pretty perfect time.

Lovely riverside location. Fun to watch freighters and beautiful sunsets. Loved the peace and quiet. Perfect for the two of us and rediscovering the 1,000 Islands area. Especially enjoyed Clayton. Unfortunately lots of rain, but we got to watch the many moods of the water views.

Great location for relaxation but convenient

We have stayed twice now for quite relaxing anniversary trips. Both times have been a pleasure. Quiet but yet to close to action if you so choose. Husband was successful fishing off the dock. Host Rick is clear and easy to communicate with if needed. We will be back again!

Lovely Time by the River

We had a lovely time staying here! Enjoyed the pretty river views and watching local wildlife fly or swim by. The deck is great for that. The house was clean and comfortable. Loved the decor! Loved that Clayton was so close. It was very convenient to be able to pop down the road for a grocery run or to go to a restaurant a little further downtown. Would love to go back!

Quick trip to 1000 Islands

What a beautiful location! The cottage is in the perfect location to see the most amazing sunsets and watch boats pass by while also seeing the ships pass in the river. We enjoyed our short stay so much that we can’t wait to go back and stay for much longer! Rick was so nice and answered any questions we had promptly. Thanks again!

Amazing!

Incredible views, great small house but was big enough for my 6 person family. The deck and porch are huge as well as a nice sized back yard. Caught more fish than we could count off the dock and saw so many huge ships and boats. Close to everything we needed for our long weekend! Rick was responsive very quickly and made sure everything was going well for us! 5 star - will definitely be back!

The cottage & location were perfect. Landlord needs to update his appliances such as washer/dryer, coffee machine, grill & septic system (they didn’t work properly). These changes would make it an ideal location.

Thank you for the review and for choosing our cottage! I have not heard of any issues with the grill or appliances, they all function as expected. I certainly will replace things that do not work. In fact I have put over $30k into the property. I am aware of the septic which started in the last few months. It is being fixed this fall. The pictures are exactly what is in the unit so whomever rents should review pictures. I assure you anything broken will be replaced with new appliances.

What a view

The view is amazing. The cottage is a very nice. If you have a boat and trailer. You might want a little better info on launching and trailer storage for the time that you are there. The dock is in front of the cottage is nice. I would love to come back. Maybe next year. Thank you Rick

Perfect Fishing Retreat

This cottage was perfect for two fishing buddies and a 25’ boat. The location in a sheltered bay was nice. Proximity to restaurants and a supermarket were great. It was thoughtfully stocked with EVERYTHING you would need: Linens, towels,TP,paper towels, bathroom necessities, cookware, plates and glasses, gas grill…etc It had Direct TV which came in handy on tte one rainy day we had. Rick, the owner was super helpful and quick to respond with the few questions we did have. And, THE VIEW😍😍😍 This was a great rental in Clayton!

Peaceful and healing

The covered deck was our go to spot for morning coffee, or sunset cocktails, when we weren’t busy with wedding things.The daily traffic into the bay was just enough to be interesting and not intrusive. The view was sensational, cargo ships going both ways,at all hours! No, you can’t hear them! The cottage was clean and well equipped, it met all of our needs. Clayton is a quaint little town, rich in history, nice people and plenty to do. We came up for a joyful celebration, and fell in love, the cottage soothed our souls and allowed us all to do some much needed healing from a sad time. We will be back, it’s a very special place.

Cottage with a view

Rick was great; he responded quickly to all questions we had. The cottage was really clean and cozy. The view from the deck, living room and eating area was amazing. We saw several ship traveling the channel. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog.
