Great location!! About 200 mts from the main restaurants and beach activities.
Clean and Elegant property. Well Equipped, close to anything you may need during your stay. Any question Aurelio has the answers😊😁. Can't wait to go back...Thank You.
Lovely house in a perfect location!
We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Pepito! The location was perfect-within easy walking distance to beach and restaurant yet very quiet at night. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. We didn't cook much but the necessities were there for anyone who plans to cook. Aurelio met us at the airport and gave us a brief tour on the way to the house, we didn't need him during our stay but he was very friendly and I'm sure would have helped if needed. We rented a jeep and spent a lot of time at the beaches of the eastern preserve. Esperanza is lovely. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Cannot wait to return!
Adventurer? Snorkel gear is in the house...
Well-maintained and comfortable Esperanza base. Close to everything. Walking distance to restaurants, the waterfront- where artists and crafters set up booths, the preservation society, biobay tours, a neighborhood grocer and small bakery. You are across the street from a ballfield where on a weekend night you'll hear the small crowd's cheers in Spanish, "!A la Luna! ". The town is small. It's a short drive or hike to several beaches just outside town. Rent a jeep for the more (sort of) remote beaches but a rented golf cart will get you most places. Driving is not for the faint-hearted. Our last day we caught the ferry (eventually) and saw whales breaching the surface on the return to the main island. While you wait for the ferry, stop at Al's Mar Azul bar a half block from the ferry dock to watch the sunset, or shop the quaint boutiques and galleries of Isabel II. Build in an extra day in case the ferry doesn't run as scheduled.
Such a great place to stay while visiting Esperanza. We stayed here with another couple and really loved the fact that both bedrooms are en suite. We did most of our cooking "at home" and found everything we needed to prepare our meals. Grocery store and bakery are a few blocks away which is very convenient. Aurillo was there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The owner, Catherine, called to make sure our check-in went smoothly which I really appreciated. House and yard are well maintained and very clean!! We walked to the "malecon" at the end of every day and enjoyed trying many of the resturants and local pubs. This was our second time visiting Vieques, but first time staying in Esperanza if we return we will most definitely stay here!
Beautiful Island Home
I have just returned from this slice of paradise. The home is everything that is described and more. It is updated, extremely clean and has quality furnishings. Catherine is very friendly, helpful, and very hands on as an owner...a perfect combination. Aurelio, the propert manager is very accessible should you need anything during your stay. This house is in a residential area, yet within walking distance to a bakery, two stores, restaurants and the Malecon in Espernanza. It is on the right side of the island for exploring most of the beaches. In the evening, you can listen to the coqui frogs or possibly take in a softball game at the park across the street. For a small island, there are many things to do and see and this rental makes you feel a part of the community rather than a renter, even for a short time. One of the more relaxing vacations we have had in quite a while.
Our 'home away from home' at the beautiful Casa de Pepito!
This Vieques vacation was super special for my husband, son & I. We were hoping to experience the island in a more traditional setting and staying at this beautiful home in the heart of Esperanza was exactly what we were looking for and more! We loved everything about it, the comfort of the home and the amenities provided by the owners, the location in the village itself, a short walk to the Malecon, the local eateries, shopping & beaches.
The home itself is well manintained, immaculate, and has everything you might need for an island vacation. Having 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms was key as my 17-yr old son appreciated his privacy, as did we. The king and queen beds were super comfortable, and were outfitted with beautiful luxurious bedding that conformed to the serene white theme in each of the rooms. The bath linens were so fluffly & smelled so fresh, not like hotel towels! When in need, there was individual AC in each room as well. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need to prepare and cook a dinner, even a Weber grill outside! Having wifi was beneficial when we wanted to connect, which we didn't do too often. We loved that the fridge had the water/ice feature, as we were able to refill bottles to take to the beaches everyday. As we did quite a bit of beach adventures and snorkeling, it was great to have a cooler, umbrella, chairs and extra gear to take along if we needed it, and we did! Upon returning from our days, the outside shower was a plus for cleaning off sand from us and our equipment. We thoroughly loved spending time on the porch in the mornings and evenings enjoying the island sounds of the birds, horses and frogs.
We knew as soon as we booked this home it was the best choice because a lovely rapport began with the owners, Catherine & Octavian. They were so willing to help us with suggestions for anything we needed or were concerned about, even car rentals. The caretaker, Aurelio, was super pleasant & friendly, and he provided great 'local' information; best snorkeling beaches, BioBay tours, where to shop locally for groceries & pastries (bakery around the corner!), and where to eat on the Malecon - Bananas for lunch, Bili for dinner, LazyJacks for pizza/bar. Book reservations for The Next Course & hit TinBox f/ BBQ.
We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives; it's perfect for 2 couples, or a family looking to get away from it all, but close enough to experience real island life!
A short walk to the waterfront, restaurants, bars, shops, small grocery and bakery, Casa de Pepito is located in a safe, friendly neighborhood in the small Caribbean village of Esperanza. Walk to nearby Sun Bay beach. Take a night tour of the world's most pristine Bioluminescent Bay. And with a rental car you will be able to visit many more pristine Caribbean beaches, the museum and art gallery at Fort Conde de Mirasol (1845), the Playa Grande Sugar Mill ruins, and many more points of interest around the island.
