SoliMar Sol~Flora apartment offers queen bed & a converter couch (full), galley kitchen, private entrance, private bathroom, WiFi, satellite TV, beach towels, beach chairs & cooler.


Located in the middle, between Vieques' two main districts of Isabel II & Esperanza and less than 1/4 mile from the entrance to the best unspoiled beaches Vieques has to offer, we're sure you'll find your studio very convenient for your stay.

We offer "Island Vehicles" for our guest at more than half the price of a rental company. Yes they have dents, dings, scratches, squeaks & squeals but that's the true Vieques feel.

We'd love to have you stay with us and are happy & eager to answer any questions you may have or to help with "things to do".

    Perfect location

    Property is located conveniently in between both towns on the island. Propery is also very close to the road leading to some of the best beaches.Host was great. Would stay here again for sure.

    The car rental and ease of access from this location to everywhere we visited was fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and will definitely contact this host for our next visit! Thank you for the memories!

    Worked for what we needed.

    We really didn’t spend much time at the property because we were out in the island but it was clean and comfortable.

    I think that this place delivered what it states in it's advertisement. All good for us. Well located in terms of accessing the various attractions on the island. Paul was friendly and helpful to us.

    Beautiful Vieques Stay

    Our hosts were so accommodating and the place was perfect for us. Located between the towns of Esperanza and Isabel Segunda and perfect for exploring the island. The pool was icing on the cake after long days at the beach. We hope to stay here again!

    Great place!

    Had a wonderful time! Paul is super helpful and renting an island vehicle from him was convenient and easy. Transportation to and from the ferry/airport was an unexpected plus as well! Great spot!

    Short stay

    We should have stayed a few more days to explore more beaches. The location is an easy drive to locations of interest. We're easy to please but the unit had everything we needed. Appreciated the availability of an island vehicle. Their welcome guide was helpful for where to go and what to expect. You could hear roosters and the occasional road noise, but there were ear plugs available.

    Fantastic property

    Paul and Gwen were fabulous! great location, loved we were able to rent their vehicle, answered all of our questions, and loved the pool. We will definitely stay at the property again!

    Clean accommodations that had everything we needed. Great service by host. A little noisy in its position next to the road but excellent access to all we wanted to do and see. Reasonably priced. Would return!

    Wonderful location with excellent hosts

    Beautiful property, we rented one of Paul's vehicles which was a perfect way to explore the island with our family. Our boys loved the mango trees, feeding mangos to the horses, and swimming in the pool. This was the perfect place for our explorations of Vieques! Paul offered lots of great recommendations. We highly recommend this property.

    Anniversary paradise

    We had an amazing stay! We had the place all to ourselves which was a plus to have. The pool was fantastic and we even had a rental car to get around the island on! Red lights everywhere on the island was so beautiful. Will definitely be back absolutely!!!! This place is our new secret getaway! Amanda from CT

    What a perfect place to stay on Vieques!

    Paul and Gwen's place was just right for our needs! It was very clean and comfortable, and located conveniently close to all we wanted to see and do. Paul and Gwen went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and more. They were superlative hosts! They provided extra towels when ours got soaked in a sudden rainstorm, they gave great advice regarding beaches, places to eat, and who to book with for snorkel tours and other activities. We rented one of their vehicles, which I highly recommend, as their prices are very reasonable and made getting around Vieques easy. A lovely place to stay with even nicer people. We'd love to come back!

    Great rural location

    This isn’t your luxury hotel on the beach with thousands of people. It’s a six acre property in the rural area of beautiful Vieques. The location is perfect; it’s just a few minutes to drive to any of the beaches or communities. We loved our four days on Vieques and visited many beaches. Paul was a wonderful host. Ask about borrowing one of his vehicles to save yourself some money and hassle. Take the advice from Paul and Gwen and book your transportation early. Check out their websites as well because they have some wonderful recommendations! Fly to the island if you can afford it; it’s a beautiful experience.We took the ferry back; purchase your tickets online and include a few extra hours since the ferry schedule can change.

    We love Vieques!

    Paul was awesome. Gave us some great recommendations. The place was conveniently located between Isabelle and Esmeralda. It was near Sunday and the wild life refuge too! Having a kitchen to make breakfast was so much easier even though I didn't consider that in choosing his place but it was a real plus. And the pool, it was so great to come home too, complete with an outside shower. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Paul!

    Adequate for our needs

    I booked Solimar understanding that it would be on the rustic side. It was. There are no frills that come with this place, but aside from sleeping and showering we didn’t spend very much time there so didn’t need a lot more than it offered. The location was perfect for visiting the beautiful beaches at the nature preserve, and it was a short drive to both Esperanza and Isabel. We rented one of Paul’s island vehicles. It did get us from point A to point B but do not expect anything fancy. We acclimated to our circumstances and had a very nice trip to Vieques, but if you prefer fancy this isn’t the place for you. The pool area was nice. We drank our coffee out there every morning visiting with others staying with Paul. We’d watch lizards, birds and roosters! Super fun and. relaxing. Paul responded super quickly and also provided us with a ton of great information that made our planning much easier.

    Casual, Central, Country Comfort

    Solimar Guest House is just what the doctor ordered. We had initially booked the lower room, but Paul, our gracious host, suggested the upper room with a large enclosed patio since it was just the 2 of us. We took his advice and are glad we did! The view overlooking the nature preserve is amazing and we got to watch the daily sunrise. The room was super clean, bed and bedding were extremely comfortable, the towels always fluffy and soft, the air conditioning kept the room cool & the humidity down, and the shower had plenty of hot water. My husband enjoyed the pool, but it was a bit cold for me. We started our days watching the sunrise on our patio, then moved to the pool area and enjoyed our morning coffee by the pool, listening to roosters, guinea hens and watching the iguanas & wild horses. Perfection. Solimar is centrally located in the middle of the island so Esperanza and Isabel Segunda are equally convenient. This is country. There are loud birds, frogs, horses and dogs, and those sounds are what I miss the most. I mention them just to make you aware that you will be rising early. Hehehe. The grounds are clean, and there is plenty of room and beautiful mango shade trees, but as a gardener, I couldn't help but think of all the things I would do if the property were mine. We stayed 7 nights, March 6-13, 2023. We should have stayed longer. We left for mainland PR to stay in Isla Verde 3 nights near the airport. Next time, we'll stay here longer.

    Solimar is a great place to stay!

    We spent 3 nights at Solimar - great location made it easy to get around. Took advantage of car rental - nice to have that option. Property was clean and owners were friendly. Pool was so nice! Enjoyed it!

    Has everything...Central location, nice pool surrounded by giant mango trees, plus car! Great value.

    Two night stay with family of four. The room has all the essentials. Small kitchen with enough plates/cups/silverware, microwave, single burner stove top, large toaster oven, small refrigerator with freezer. Bathroom is simple and clean with fresh towels for shower and seperate new beach towels there were multiple beach coolers and Tommy Bahama beach chairs. The pool was perfect with lots of comfortable new patio furniture and you could use the pool at anyhour! There were wild horses around the property that we fed mangos from the trees surrounding the pool. His rental cars are proper beach suv's, nothing fancy but got us from a to b For half the price. We really only used the place to sleep or regroup in-between adventures but there was perfect wifi and cable TV for the kids. Located in the middle of the island so there was easy access everywhere. The owner even gave us a ride to and from the ferry which was extremely kind and convenient as we had a packed beach wagon and suitcase!

    Gwen & I pride ourselves on the "golden rule" of treating how you want to be treated. Our goal when we set out on this adventure was to provide a nice, clean, comfortable place for the budgeted and non-budgeted traveler alike. No, we're not a fancy place but we have clean studios and provide everything we think you'll need for your stay.
