My kids enjoy inviting their friends up to T.I.Park for a visit and being able to introduce them to the natural beauty and fun of 'the River' and of Thousand Island Park. They love to tube behind our boat, paddle their double kayak over to South Bay and back, fish for 'Sunnys' off the dock, swim at the Cove, sunbath at the Main Dock with the other teens, work at the movie theater, and meet their friends at the fire pit at night. My wife and I enjoy inviting friends over after dinner to sit on our porch with a glass of wine or two, to talk, tell stories and jokes, or play cards or a board game til it's too dark to see. We also enjoy walking up to the Wellesley Hotel for a great meal served on their porch, joining trivia night in the Pub, taking visitors for boat rides to point out the famous landmarks on the River, going to the Clayton Opera House for a show, and making a run across the border for the great Canadian beer we can't get in the US.
We've seen the Northern Lights several times from the porch of Scratch Pad and that never grows old. You can just see the lights of the bridge too. We've taken advantage of all the room around us by flying kites, playing wiffle ball, tossing a frisbee, setting up a volley ball net for a family tournament, tossing lawn darts, or learning to ride bikes. There's plenty of room to do just about anything at Scratch Pad.
