About Celia & Enzo Cammarota
I would like to introduce us. My name is Celia, my husband is Enzo (short for Vincenzo), and our daughter is called Isabella. We are an Anglo-Italian family and Le Mura Villa Tuscany is our country home. We split our time between Lucca and Benabbio. We have lived and worked in the area for many years having met and married in London. We have been renting out Le Mura Villa since 2001. I have been very lucky to have a unique experience, as I have always been treated as a local by the village and in our Piazza in Lucca. We always personally greet our guests on arrival and we are very happy to help our guests in any way to make their holiday as perfect as possible.
Celia & Enzo Cammarota purchased this Villa in 2000
Why Celia & Enzo Cammarota chose Bagni di Lucca
We chose Le Mura Villa Tuscany for many reasons, first and foremost for the beauty of the house and its magical position. We bought the house as a family home not an investment therefore the good road up to the property was a big plus especially in winter. The fact that the house is a few minutes walk from a village that has a very active community was important for us because we didn’t want a village without a stable population. Benabbio is one of the few villages of its size to have bars and restaurants and a wonderful food shop as well as newsagent not to mention the ruins of a castle. The house itself has lots of space and large rooms and the farmhouse kitchen complete with fireplace and stone font that I always dreamed of. The views from every room and the fact that the house had been conserved rather than done up meant that all the character was still there and the rooms are large giving lots of individual space when friends visit. Le Mura’s position near Lucca, Florence and Pisa was also very important as we could enjoy the beauty of the countryside with easy access to important centres. This area has so much beauty that I will never run out of places to discover. My husband wanted our daughter to speak a pure Italian and this part of Tuscany is still unspoilt but not remote. Enzo being the Italian chose the area and balanced rural living with access to cities to airports. Lucca our local city is a delight.
What makes this Villa unique
Le Mura Villa Tuscany is your quintessential stone Tuscan Farmhouse with terracotta floors and chestnut beams. The farmhouse kitchen for me is the hub of the house. It was love at first sight. The rooms are large and all share the most amazing view of the Garfagnana national park and Carrara Mountains. The position near Florence, Pisa and Lucca and therefore hubs of transport and city life. Secluded without being remote, near a village which is full of year round residents with lots of families with small children. The joy of being able to walk to the village for shopping and a restaurant but be far enough out to have privacy. The pool is in a perfect position having shade as well as sun while commanding a view over the nine horizons of mountains. The large grounds have olive groves, vines and fruit trees. I love to sit by the pool and watch the sunset over the mountains and dine with the fireflies dancing around us on a summer evening. I also love to curl up by the wood-burning stove in winter with a book and lock the world out.

Beautiful villa, peaceful setting, amazing views, wonderful hosts
Celia and Enzo were the most attentive hosts! In spite of our flight delay, they graciously met us on property at nearly midnight with groceries for the next morning. Because we arrived after dark and tired, we had no idea what beautiful views we would wake up to the next day. Absolutely amazing!! Quaint villages across the valley, Bagni du Luca near the river down below, and lush greenery outside every window. Benabbio village was a short walk from the villa. We enjoyed dinner at the wonderful restaurant Cavallino Bianco one evening. Another evening Enzo and Celia cooked authentic Italian dishes for us in the villa kitchen. The food was so delicious and the company was superb!
We spent one afternoon in nearby Lucca. There are other activities in the area if you want to drive a bit.
Overall a wonderful experience with this beautiful property and our hosts, who we now call our friends. Thank you, Celia and Enzo!!
A Lovely Villa
We stayed for 5 nights in mid may. The villa is in a secluded location with scenic views but within easy walking distance of Benabbio village which has 2 good restaurants. Florence, Pisa and Lucca within easy reach. Very helpful owners.
wonderful house and hosts
Celia and Enzo were gracious and hospitable. Celia responded to questions throughout our stay -- so, although we had complete privacy, we also had access to a helpful host. This house is a treasure, providing a real feel for the history and landscape of the area; we are grateful to Celia and Enzo for maintaining and sharing it!
Super holiday - glorious views over the mountains
Wonderful traditional Tuscan farmhouse, with a private pool and stunning views over the mountains beyond.
Celia and Enzo were very attentive hosts and extremely helpful at answering any queries, whilst allowing you to enjoy your holiday in peace. Really recommend the fabulous pasta cooking classes!
Property and pool very clean on arrival and were also cleaned well during our stay. Recommend the grocery and meal delivery service on arrival.
Florence is 1.5 hour drive away and highly recommended - you can benefit from Celia and Enzo's local knowledge of where to park in the city centre, etc. Lucca very near, as is Pisa, so lots of high profile attractions to visit. The boys and their Dad loved cycling round the Lucca city walls, whilst the girls went shopping!!
Highly recommend a stay in this beautiful farmhouse in a gorgeous part of Italy.
Beautiful Tuscan house with fantastic views
The location was idyllic and we soon got used to the road up the hill and visited Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Barga, Montecatini, not to mention vineyards, a cave/grotto and a villa where Napoleon's sister had lived. The rooms were spacious and all modern conveniences were provided. We made full use of the lovely pool as we visited during a heatwave. Plenty of shady areas were appreciated. A fabulous afternoon and evening were spent being taught to make pasta and sauces by Enzo. The restaurant in the village provided traditional and delicious food on our last evening. We will never forget the sunsets and the occasional early morning misty sunrise. Celia and Enzo were very helpful and friendly and arranged for the delivery of initial provisions and a meal and gave useful tips on restaurants, shopping, parking and routes to take. We fully endorse their choices of ice cream establishments. An unforgettable holiday.
Beautiful traditional farmhouse in a stunning location.
We were a large family group - seven adults and two babies under two and we stayed for a week at the end of May. We were not disappointed. Celia and Enzo were the perfect hosts and ensured our stay went without any hitches. The views were magnificent from every window and eating outside with the view spread in front of us was like being in a film set! The weather was varied but there was plenty to do in the area. The two year old loved the Wendy house and was very happy to have so many toys available to play with in her room.
We enjoyed the walk to the village where the small grocers had enough to keep us going and there were a couple of supermarkets in Bagni so we could stock up.
We enjoyed a day at the beach and a day in Lucca. Lucca is a beautiful walled city and was a delight to walk around - even in the rain! My 89 year old mother in law particularly liked wondering around the town - so much so she went twice!
I would certainly recommend the farmhouse - not the place to go if you want everything modern and contemporary but if you want to enjoy the pleasures of a rural holiday in a comfortable farmhouse with magnificent views, then you will not be disappointed.
