A most pleasant base to travel and visit Tuscany

Very clean, pleasant, owners going out of their way to make the stay pleasant. Very gracious and helpful. Everything we needed and wished in a home away from home.

Perfect to relax - we had a great time

Nice apartment with very nice pool and garden to relax and enjoy, great and friendly hosts. Good starting point to Visite towns and to start hiking tours, Great restaurants around upside from too much Tourismus. We will come again for sure.

Excellent for pairs

The place is very good for people who want to relax. Garden is beautiful and pool also. Paola (menager) and her father are helpful and very nice. There are many restaurant (in Gallicano and Barga). Good point to visit other towns in Tuscany.

Just perfect :-)

We had a wonderful vacation! The place was just perfect to relax (especially the pool was fantastic), but also to start ,trips to the surrounding cities and mountains. Trips to Pisa, the beach, to Florence are doable in a very convenient way. My personal recommendation: Lucca. Paola and her father have done a great job, being friendly, helpful hosts, just professional. 100% recommendation.

Simply charming !

We enjoyed very much our Summer week in Paola‘s holiday house. Excellent interior with lovely details. Very clean. Great Pool and welk-tended Garden. High Covid-19 security standards. Above all, Paola is a helpful and charming host.

Superb accommodation in Tuscany

What a superb holiday apartment, pictures don’t do this place justice. We stayed for almost 2 weeks, apartment is as described but doesn’t show the lovely gardens full of fruit trees and the impeccable condition of the pool, ideal for hot summer days to cool off. Gallicano is well placed for exploring or completely relaxing, walking distance to local cafe, bakery and town is just a short 10 min walk, well equipped supermarket is a km away - can’t rate location to amenities highly enough. Paolo and her wonderful dad Carlo were in hand before, during and after our stay with helpful information, couldn’t ask for nicer hosts! Would definitely stay again when visiting Tuscany!

A beautiful calm oasis in Tuscany

We were made very welcome by Paola, Carlo and Loretta- and they kindly left us a bottle of Chianti and some local honey to welcome us further. The accommodation was much larger and airier than we had anticipated, with full air conditioning throughout. The super king bed on the mezzanine floor was very comfortable . The patio provided a shady place to eat , and a welcome escape from the sun. The pool is absolutely beautiful, set in landscaped gardens, under imposing mountains. It is stunning and absolutely pristine. The facilities are excellent and it is well placed for local restaurants, bars and shopping. We stayed for three weeks. It was perfect!

Comfortable, well maintained property, excellent hosts

The house we rented was called ' Mondolata' and was as shown in the photographs, clean and comfortable. Their guests needs had been thought of with a welcome basket of basic food items, washing up needs and even rubbish bags. When travelling from offshore things like this are appreciated ! The garden was wonderful, and we enjoyed eating our meals on the covered patio. Carlo gave us all the information, advice and literature we needed to get the most out of our stay in the Garfagnana area. Gallicano was an excellent location from which to explore the area and also visit Lucca and The Cinque Terra. We did manage to relax by the pool for a short time. Thank you Carlo and Paola for making our visit so memorable.

Italian hospitality at it's best.

This is Italian hospitality at it's best. We spent a week in this cosy Limonaia appartment - very nice and clean, nicely decorated, kitchen fully equipped with everything you can think of - The owner Carlo and his daughter Paola are amazing, helping you with everything you need. They will tell you everything there is to know about the surroundings, everything you can do etc. etc.You can relax at the garden & very nice pool, both very well kept. You have your own (private) space outside next to the appartment. I can not recommend this more. You have to go to B&B Il Melograno!

Sehr sauberes Unterkunft, super netter Vermieter und toller Pool in einem sehr schönen Garten.Einen von uns verursachten technischen Defekt hat der Vermieter umgehend beseitigt.Die Garfagnana hat einen ganz anderen Charakter als die südliche Toskana: Berge mit sehr viel Wald und urige kleine Bergdörfer in der Umgebung (Barga, Catilignano ...). Leider war es mit 34 - 38 Grad für Wanderungen viel zu heiß, aber dafür hatten wir ja den Pool.

We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad op de idyllische plek van Mandolata. Alle huisjes zijn omgeven door de prachtige tuin. Super schoon en netjes verzorgd. En lekker ontspannen aan het mooie zwembad met uitzicht op tuin en bergen. Paola en familie zijn heel gastvrij en maken dat je je gelijk thuis voelt.

Toller Wohlfühl-Ort

Wunderschöne gepflegte Anlage und ein herrlicher Pool - perfekt zum Entspannen. Wir waren 1 Woche im Mandolata-Cottage, alles ist wie auf den Fotos abgebildet. Ein sehr nettes, kleines Haus mit sehr guter Ausstattung. An jedem Fenster sind hochwertige Fliegengitter angebracht. Toll war auch der Pavillon mit Tisch und Stühlen, der zum Haus gehört. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und immer hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Il Melograno - Eine Wohlfühloase

Wir waren 11 Tage in dieser sehr schönen Unterkunft.Das sehr geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtete Ferienhaus-, das von Carlo top gepflegte Grundstück mit vielen Bäumen und der tolle Swimmingpool.Wir haben alles sehr genossen.Gallicano ist ein kleiner netter Ort. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge. Lucca, Pisa und das Westliche Meer sind mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen.Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!Ganz liebe Grüße an Paola und Familie Birgit und Achim

Gewelig gastvrij huis

Wij hebben een geweldige week beleefd. De ontvangst, de netheid/hezelligheid van het huis, het zwembad, de omgeving, hebben ons verblijf bijna perfect gemaakt. Locatie ligt dichtbij Lucca en mooie plek als de Apenijnen en prachtige plekjes. Enig nadeel was dat je altijd je wel de auto nodig hebt, ook voor eten etc.

Het was een fantastische vakantie op dit heerlijke adres. Het huisje is super alles is even schoon, netjes en smaakvol ingericht. De eigenaars zijn bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Als je vragen hebt over de omgeving krijg je de mooiste tips. Voor ons hadden ze 2 hele mooie roadtrips bedacht met de mooiste bergdorpjes in de regio. Na terugkomst van een mooie route wacht een heerlijk zwembad waar je in alle rust op adem kunt komen. Dit adres houd ik zeker in mijn hoofd voor een volgende vakantie in Toscane.

Exzellente Unterkunft

Es war ein sehr schönes Ferienhaus in einem äußerst gepflegten Anwesen mit einem herrlichen Pool. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Superbe séjour.

Magnifique petite maisonnette dans un jardin bien arboré avec vue sur les montagnes environnantes. La piscine est superbe . Paola et son papa très gentils et très discrets, merci à eux. La route nationale est juste à côté ce qui permet de pouvoir visiter la région. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour.

Tolle Unterkunft!

Es war sehr erholsam und vor allem ist es eine sehr schöne Anlage. Toll war auch die Unterstützung von Paola und ihren Eltern, welche sehr hilfsbereit waren und immer wieder tolle Tipps bezüglich der Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung geben konnten (z. B. auch über Pisa :-) ). Unterhaltsam waren auch die Gespräche mit Paolas Vater, der sich sogar in unserer Heimatstadt auskannte! Wir kommen gerne wieder!
