About Mrs Sonia
Hallo everyone! My name is SONIA and I am from Lucca. I run my Lucca Holiday Rentals company that offers exceptional apartments in the heart of Lucca. My goal is to help you fall in love with Lucca – to discover, explore, taste and savor new sights and experiences in this incredible city. My company began almost 10 years ago when I started to rent my family villa after my parents moved to the mountains when they got retired. I spent there my entire childhood and I grew up there in deep contact with the nature and the history. My father thaught me everything about the birds and the antique trees and flowers of the villa and the smell of the sizzling pans used to wake me up each Sunday morning after my mum started to cook! I was fascinated by her when she was telling me the history of the villa in the past century. I thought this kind of feelings are too precious to let them go so then I had the idea to share my love of Lucca and “la dolce Vita” by finding beautiful apartments , villas and farmhouses in my favorite Lucca neighborhoods among my family members properties. Lucca Holiday Rentals started out as a boutique family company and now there are over 15 people working together. We are a friendly and enthusiastic team who will assist you every step of the way, from your first enquiry to your arrival in Lucca.
Mrs Sonia purchased this Farmhouse in 2010

Tranquil rural location not far from restaurants and cultural experiences, with excellent pool.
We go away as a family once per year and this was voted the 'best ever'.

Lovely house in a beautiful setting
We had a wonderful time at the villa - the weather was perfect and the house was charming. Our children loved the pool in particular and playing in the garden. The only suggestion I can make is the pillows could be upgraded- they were very thin and hard. I would definitely return though. Grazie!
Thank you Daniela for taking precious time off to share your invaluable feedback with us. It was delightful to leanr that one of the most paramount pillars of our service philosophy, accommodating our guests' needs and enabling their desires was met. I will certainly upgrade the pillows! I look forward to meet you again in the future! Mrs Sonia and the Lucca Apartments and Villas team
Nice welcoming touches by owner providing fresh fruit, veg and wine on arrival.
Approach road a bit tricky especially in a bigger car. No air con. so difficult to stay cool.
Picturesque Family Villa
Our family of seven adults had a once in a lifetime stay at this charming villa nestled in the hills outside of Lucca. From the start our host Cristina was welcoming and helpful. She also hosted a cooking class for our group right at the villa. It was informative and lots of fun to spend time with Cristina, her daughter and partner. They spoiled us with their Tuscan cuisine and entertained us with their cooking tips! We took day trips each day to Florence, Chianti, Siena, Cinque Terre and Livorno. We also explored the local vineyards in the Montecarlo area. Each night we looked forward to returning to our comfortable home for the week. We especially enjoyed the peaceful grounds and pool area. We took full advantage of the outdoor dining spaces. We all hope to return to this special place!
Thank you Barbara! It was such a pleasure to meet you and host you and I am happy you enjoyed your time at the villa! Thanks for choosing Lucca Apartments and Villas for your time in Lucca! Warmly, Mrs Sonia, Lucca, Italy
thanks once again!
Dear Sonia, it was our pleasure to come back to Lucca and rent another charming villa from your selection. Seeing how much you love looking after your houses inspires us to keep looking at the marvellous pictures of your Lucca homes and planning another visit next year. It was the best stay all over Italy and we will be lucky to replicate it when we come back next summer.
thank you for your kind email! it was lovely to meet you and host you! Sonia
Beatiful setting. Rustic charm.
We received a warm and friendly welcome to this characterful late 18th century former farm house. Set slightly above the valley, the south facing garden offers superb views and is equipped with a south and a west facing patio area, hammock, table tennis table and a good sized pool. The garden is a delight. Plenty of grass area and a variety of small trees and scented roses.
With your own transport it is a good base for visiting Pisa, Florence, Luca, Barga.
Just one serious negative. It think it would fail a fire safety inspection. I did not see any fire or CO alarms. I do not recall seeing fire extinguishers. The 'Hay loft'[ smaller building on the right] was of particular concern. The upstairs windows do not provide an escape route as they are blocked by a lattice of brickwork. The nearest exit is a small window on the half landing.
Couple of minor points. Some of the kitchen equipment could do with updating, such as the provision of casserole dishes and dish towels.
Please get some fire safety advice. If this is carried out I would then strongly recommend this property as an ideal base for experiencing northern Tuscany.
Dear guests, thank you very much for your kind review. We are happy to have a nice stay. The house complies with the emergency requirements provided by law. The brick wall you are referring to is an architectural element typical of ancient local buildings and dates back to the 1700s, so it is not possible to remove it as it is protected by the Cultural Property Act.
Regarding the supply of the kitchen, we greatly appreciated your suggestion and then we will buy some more tools to better meet the needs of our future guests. Guest tips are very important to us and are very valuable because they allow us to improve the experience and stay of our guests in our home. A greeting and hope to meet you soon!
Lucca, beautiful city, famous for its monumental 15th century fortified wall. But dig a little deeper and you find that its winding medieval streets actually follow the plan laid out by the Romans in 180BC. And before the Romans, Lucca was one of the major centres of Etruria, the ancient country of central Italy that more or less corresponds to modern Tuscany. Unsurprisingly then, Lucca is steeped in history. Your twelfth century building is just a small part of that. There are museums and churches, and the magnificent cathedral, the Duomo di San Martino, is the town’s finest Romanesque building, its impressive façade a triumph of sculpture, carving and inlay work – at just five minutes’ walk from the apartment. Modern delights include terrific restaurants, bars and shops, all within a few minutes’ walk. In Lucca’s winding streets, the pedestrian comes before the car, so you can move at your own pace. In fact wandering the streets is one of the great pleasures of the city.
