Shame the pool was a bit fresh- it was suddenly colder morning and evenings affecting the water. Yes, the drive up is bendy and also narrow in places, but as you say, you get used to it quickly. We drove up and down the same hill for school and work multiple times daily for some years and when I first arrived I couldn't envisage how quickly it would become totally normal. I think it is worth it for the views, the sunsets, keeping the sun until much later than everywhere else, and the authenticity of the area. jWe do hope you come again. Thank you for your 5 star review. We are glad you had a wonderful time! Darioj would be happy to welcome you again. NB - for future guests the closest 2 restaurants are under a 10 minute drive away. For a good selection, town is a 15 minute drive, and another town also with really good restaurants is a 20 minute drive. The owner will cook on request for nights you don't wish to go out and pizza nights are very popular! For reference, the pool pump is on from 7am to 11:30 am, then from 2:30pm to 4pm and then from 9pm til 10 pm in case anyone wants to swim late. The number of hours is in line with manufactuer guidelines, but the timings themselves can be amended on request. Lorraine at Tuscan-retreats

Thank you for your review, and we are glad you enjoyed the house and found it ideal for your group and also that you loved the sightseeing you did in the local area. Dario was mortified to have mixed up your arrival day (he even thought your SMS was referring to arriving at 6pm the next day) . He has asked me to pass on his apologies again. As you know the beds were made up very quickly on your arrival and the bathrooms refreshed. The house had already been cleaned for you but beds are not made until arrival day to ensure they are very fresh and the bathrooms are always refreshed a second time on the day guests arrive. Dario, as you have highlighted is very friendly, but always totally respects guest's privacy and leaves it to guests to contact him if they need something. He cleans the pool regularly in the morning so guests know he is there, and guests tend to go down and see him if they have any questions or wish to arrange a meal/pizza night. His daughter was on holiday herself that week and she is the English speaker but was always available by phone to translate for Dario if you had had communication difficulties. We at tuscan-retreats are available 24/7 for guests, via both the phone numbers and e mail addresses we gave you. I hope that although you felt unable to ask Dario about personal tips, that you were able to make use of the detailed local information pack we sent you prior to arrival when planning your day trips.
