The pleasures of land and sea are close at hand at this 3-bedroom, 3-bath home in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by tall Monterey pines and oaks. A distant ocean view can be seen over the trees and you'll be less than a mile from downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea.

The location less than a mile from the beach is also just 15 minutes from wineries and restaurants in Carmel Valley, a half hour from the dramatic views of Big Sur, and 10 minutes to golf and dining in Pebble Beach®, or to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This is the perfect home base for travelers attending special area events like the Carmel Back Festival and Monterey Car Week, and those who are exploring the central California Coast up and down scenic Highway One.

Living Spaces
This charming home stands tall with its gambrel-style roof which creates a lofty upper level great room.
Guests entering the spacious 2,031 sf home will find themselves in a residence where the ocean environment is part of the interior, with tasteful beach-themed décor in soothing tones.
The reverse floor plan places bedrooms on the first floor and kitchen and living areas on the second floor to take advantage of views through large west-facing windows. The lower level entry includes a small reading area adjacent to the three bedrooms.

The great room is located on the light-filled second floor, with skylights and large windows. The open floor plan ensures easy conversation and activities throughout the space. Comfortable seating is arranged in the living area under a rustic open-beam ceiling, near the 50-inch HDTV with cable service.. A table for four can be found near a window, perfect for playing games or doing puzzles.
An air conditioning unit keeps the upstairs comfortable on warm days.

Kitchen and Dining
The great room includes a Pottery Barn-style dining table with bench seating and a well-equipped kitchen with updated appliances, gas cooktop, granite countertops, a custom tile backsplash and a walk-in pantry.
Ocean views and sunsets can be glimpsed from the outdoor deck, which includes seating, a bar area and a gourmet grill.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
All three bedrooms and two of the bathrooms are located downstairs.
Bedroom #1 is the primary suite with a queen bed, TV and an en suite bathroom with custom tile shower that includes a built-in bench and two sunflower shower heads, tile floor and large vanity. A sliding glass door leads to a private outdoor deck overlooking the fenced back yard.
Bedroom #2 has a queen bed.
Bedroom #3 has two twin beds, with cheerful nautical elements throughout.
The hall bathroom on this level has a tub-shower combination, large mirror and tile floor.
The third full bathroom is located on the upper level near the great room and it has a standing shower.

The Internet service is designed for Internet and email, not streaming large amounts of data. DirecTV service has a robust selection of television and movie selections.

Outside, a 6 hole putting green will keep the golfers in the party entertained and the upper deck and lower patios are great spaces to gather.

Well-behaved small dogs are welcome with pre-approval, an additional pet fee and a signed pet addendum.

Two off-street parking spaces are available in front of the home. Street parking is available on a first come, first served basis.

This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of our team and the homeowner.

Stuck w no other options available while renovating

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was disappointing from the get go. Upon arrival I found the home unsatisfactorily cleaned. I spent several hours cleaning the entire kitchen from top to bottom , replacing old stained and dirty cabinet liners and having the house manager take away old appliances and serve ware from the pantry where there was little to no room for my own pantry staples. There were several revenants of past guest along with the furniture in the home was older and very worn. I had to ask that several things be fixed like the pulling and stretching of the carpet in the living area (which in my opinion should be replaced because of wear, stains and the over use by other pets and their owners ) the cleaning of all the upholstery , a broken skylight fixed along with a broken window lock. The bedding that was stained never was replaced after I told them repeatedly. The windows were dirty and I had to insist they be cleaned as well upon arrival. The heating device upstairs went out after a bad storm in January. When finally someone came to look at it, they decided that they couldn’t fix or replace it without getting the owners consent. The consent was never given We were without the heating unit upstairs for the remainder of our stay, about 30 days. Every time I tried to reach the house manager for whatever was happening at the moment , I would have to try repeatedly. I had to forgo the house manger several time and call the offices where the person was always pleasant . It’s too bad the system in place isn’t working. 1 time in 90 days was the outside maintained. I believe this rental agency could have some very nice properties that are well maintained and cleaned out of old things but this isn’t one of those properties. I would venture to say that the owner of Sanctuary rentals wouldn’t stay in this vacation rental without seeing a lot that needs improving.
