Waterfront Fallen Leaf Lake property with full views of the lake

Old-style Fallen Leaf Lake accommodations

This charming rustic cabin was built in 1940 and has provided  a summer get-a-way for generations and years of family memories. If you are looking for a retreat that takes you back in time without the t.v. and simply relax by the lake, then this is your vacation cabin rental. This is not a luxury vacation rental, but has family charm and provides a really great place to call home for a few days at the lake. Wake up with coffee roasting on the old stove and enjoy the sunrise over-looking the lake on the large deck. There is plenty of room to sleep outdoors on the deck and take in the pristine crisp air of the night.

From this cabin you have easy access to the beach below and swim docks. The marina offers small boat and slip rentals. Just above is the new General Store with a deli and lots of gifts to share with your friends. As far as outdoor recreation, you can enter Desolation Wilderness easily from the cabin heading towards Glen Alpine waterfalls, Lily lake and beyond. Mount Tallac is also assessable for those spectacular 360 degree views of Lake Tahoe. Don't miss out on the Angora Lakes hike either. There is so much to do you won't know you're in Lake Tahoe unless you want to sneak over for some entertainment and nightlife.

This cabin has a living room with two futon couches and a wood-burning stove for heat. There is a bunk room, separate full bed bedroom and king bed upstairs. This cabin is enjoyed by the family and their personal belongings will remain in the cabin. Their cabin is your cabin.

Enjoy and come back for year's on end.

Great location, good communication

  • 4 of 5

We spent three nights at this cabin over labor day week and overall we enjoyed our stay. The location was very good if you know the Fallen Leaf Lake area. It had great access to the lake (steps away), the marina/general store (which had all of the staples) and some trail heads to desolation wilderness. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, linens, etc. The deck overlooking the lake was very nice. Bathroom fixtures (showers, toilets and sinks) were all updated and there is a washer/drier, so you don't need to worry about that. You do, however, have to be prepared for the fact that this is very rustic (meaning old). And when compared to the other homes in the vicinity, it becomes even more apparent. As long as you are okay with that, you should enjoy your stay here. Management communicated well and we had no issues with the booking.

Lovely well-located cabin with a sense of local history and excellent lake access.

We very much enjoyed the Skylark cabin and I would happily stay there again. Access was easy and the cabin felt welcoming. The kitchen was well-equipped and very easy to work in. Beds were ample and comfortable and it was helpful to have a bedroom on the main floor for my mother. The cabin is fantastically located, just steps from the lake and with easy access to primary hiking trails. A little more clarity about limited wifi access (purchaseable but not consistent) and no cell service would help guests align expectations.
